A brilliant friend made this Mahjonng game with pictures of our BDHs
download the zipped file here:
http://s25.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1XZE6IX6B8Q1R0YW3Y3PQZBW5
then unzip the entire file
then click on the 'index' and the game should load....
(let me know if you have problems)

enjoy!

oh BTW, if you are wanting to join a crew at the Official Board, I'm the Captain of Fairfield Fireflies:

Didn't work for me (Mozilla). If I'm bored latter today, I'll take a look at the code.

I opened up the Index page, as instructed, but all I've got is a copyright and a whole lotta purple. Little help?

are you sure you didn't accidently open 'read me'
go back to the file and the one that says 'index'
(with the big blue 'e')
should only open the game and not do anything else...

(er...unless you have a mac instead of a PC? I don't know if it would work on a mac...).

Opens fine for me, but the pics don't load. Is there a proper place I should unzip the files to, or is this a security level issue on my end?

And also, speaking as to the purple-bellied screen o' blankness; check to see if you are blocking active content. My IE gives the yellow nag bar across the top of the screen that I have to deal with before it will even try to load.

oh dear, I'm not sure what the problem is...
when you open the folder marked 'images'
you should have one blank image named '0'
and then 34 images of our BDHs
4 images of the ship
4 images of bad guys
(total of 42 images)
are those all there?

the way the game is structured,
when you open 'index' it is supposed to feed the pictures from 'images' randomly into the game...
but of course if the image folder is empty then that won't work.

within the zipped folder I put on YouSendIt there should have been four folders:
Read me
Index
Images
dhtmlcompact

the latter may be the reason the game is being treated as a pop up (I think that that is what the yellow bar is about), but I don't know how to change that...it is the way the person created the game I think...
however it is possible to just temporarily suspend the pop-up blocker when the game loads...

I'm sorry I'm not smarter about this,
let me know if any of that helps at all.

The game works fine in Internet Explorer after I allow active content, but Firefox has the great page of purple. Firefox doesn't even prompt me. It just sits there. And I'm on a PC, not a Mac, btw.

well if your image folder is filled with all the necessary images,
then it is possible it has to do with your browser...I don't know programming
code but that "e" icon is for Explorer, so if you have something else,
it probably won't play at all is my guess.

I guess I need someone who can read 'code' to figure this stuff out...

I'm sorry it isn't working for you.

But Glorybe is enjoying it? That's something!

Firefox does not support some features that IE does, such as ActiveX controls. I haven't looked at it yet (don't want to download it at work) but I'm guessing that it just won't work on Firefox, and might not work on anything but IE.

Could you put it up again? It's timed out and I wanted to make another run at it.

Here you are:
http://s33.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0FD0O319C152A0JB3OB4F84UAU
so I guess we decided it can only be opened with Internet explorer,
and you have to allow 'blocked content' because it reads like a pop up (it didn't use to...this is some new level of 'protection' that I can't figure out how to avoid).

1. unzip the entire folder,
2. open folder
3. and then click on 'index'
(this is when you might get the pop up blocker)
once you allow blocked content you can begin the game....

hint:
you can match the bad guys to each other,
AND you can always match Serenity to another picture of Serenity.
But our BDHs have to be an exact match!
Good luck!

Should my browser address bar be reading C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temp\Temporary Directory 1 for Serenity Mahjongg.zip\index.html ?

did you unzip it? Because I don't think it should be called a zip file after it has been unzipped...

well if it successfully unzipped then the address should NOT say:
/Temporary Directory 1 for Serenity Mahjongg.zip/
it should just say:
/Serenity Mahjongg/

try unzipping the original download file again, but save it into a permanent file....
other than that I do not know what to suggest.
