After seeing this on the big screen, it's hard to imagine seeing on the small screen again.

But still. . .

The very fact that FOX was willing to grant broadcast rights to 'Versal for playing it on Sci-Fi shows that the almighty dollar is still alive and well. . .and that the execs of FOX are still slaves to their own avarice.

Either the dollar ammount was lower than one would suspect, or 'Versal is making enough money ALREADY to justify such a large expenditure on 'building up' to a movie they're already WELL convinced will be a big hit.

D'ya think maybe this heralds a very real possibility of "Firefly" returning to TV after all? I mean. . .who says it has to be JUST TV or JUST movies?

It sure as hell didn't apply to "Star Trek", now did it?

I do.

Pick a genre and stick with it says I!

I hate these cross genre people. They start out on TV, then they do a movie, and oh my I just have to sing, its my passion, then its reality TV. That makes it wrong, wrong on every level.

FOX didn't grant broadcast rights. They don't have them. The SciFi channel purchased the rights from 20th Century Television which owns Firefly.

Using Star Trek as an example, SciFi paid Paramount, not NBC for the right to air Star Trek episodes.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

One can only hope Static, but I would have to say w/ all that Joss & the cast have said at Cons & in interviews that there will be no return to tv.

I for one like the ol' saying "Never say never". A lot of people said we would not get a DVD and we did. A lot of people said we would not get a movie and we did. People said it would never get aired on Sci Fi, yet look at us now. Could be very well that if Sci Fi/'Versal thinks that it could make a ton of money on the small screen that they might take a look at that possibility.

Who knows, could be the sky is the limit. Should be a fun ride.
