Just wondering what other people's thoughts on the soundtrack samples have been?

( www.cantstopthesignal.co.uk if you haven't heard them yet)

Personally, the first time I heard the Serenity track and it changed from classical to firefly music I burst out laughing, not because it was bad but through sheer joy at hearing something so perfect for the firefly universe.

Anyone else love it?
Anyone really not like it?

Ooh. . .I'm digging it. Sounds very much in line with what we heard from Greg Edmonson on the show.

I absolutely LOVE the "Serenity" sample. I will definitely be buying the soundtrack when it comes out. (=

Oh, I can't get 'Serenity' out of my head. The question is, have you noticed that it's there, hiding, in some of the other tracks (at least one, not sure which)?

Also, I should point out that the 'classical' portion of it is very, very close to the music that has always haunted me - the music that plays when Mal sees the Alliance ships landing in Serenity Valley.

It does, but in many ways I thought it also resembled the music when Mal goes through Serenity in Out of Gas. Really haunting, beautiful music.

America loves a winner!

Well, it's all good. I'll say that. Listened to Serenity, and it starts out very much like what we heard from Firefly. Then it ends up sounding almost Lord of the Rings-ish. Epochy is right.

" They don't like it when you shoot at 'em. I worked that out myself. "

A friend of mine played it for me, without telling me what it was. She knows I generally dislike movie scores unless there is the action for them playing in front of me.

Either way, I said "This may be the first movie soundtrack I ever buy. It's beautiful.. reminds me a bit of Firefly."

Then she told me what it was and I was speechless with geeker joy.

From what I remember of the movie it fits quite well and.. just fantastic!
