Hi all :-)

Sorry if this has been Posted in a different Thread (I looked, but couldn't see anything), but I'm Attempting a 1:72 Scale Model of SERENITY (Scratchbuilt)....

I know from one particular Picture I have that She is 190 Feet Long

And, I have Photos of Various Views....but would anyone know of any Schematics/Blueprints of SERENITY and the Shuttles??

I've seen Mention of something along these lines in a Firefly Press Kit....anybody got any Decent Scans of them??

Hope you can help :-)

May I suggest you find the author of the Lightwave 3D Model of Serenity that is floating around on the internet. It seems like a fairly accurate representation of Serenity.

See if he can get you a few shots of the front, side, etc in an orthographic view, this would be perfect.

Make sure when you are making your model of Serenity, that you follow reference pictures from the show version, not the pre-production 3D images that are floating around on various posters, DVD covers, etc...

For the bad version look here.

For the show version look here.

Note how the neck and head look much more streamlined in the show, whereas the preproduction version looks clumsy and unbalanced. They even use this ugly version on the box art for the DVD's!

Edit: Just found a bunch of top/front/side views!

If you go to http://www.fireflyfans.net/firefly/features.htm and scroll down to the bottom of the page there is a section called Production Artwork that will probably help you

There are also deckplans on this site. There is the multi-colored side view that was inside the extras from the DVD set.

There are also two posts of exquisite deck plans done by someone here, posted in the Blue Sun Room forum. Sorry, I don't have time to track them down for you, but if you dig around in the Blue Sun archives, you should be able to find them.

I found them on an alta vista search of key words "deck plans" and "Serenity" or something close.

Thank you both, CHRONICTHEHEDGEHOG and THEREALME for that Info, it will definately come in useful :-)

Even the Internal Shots will be utilised....at the Scale that I'm Planning, I'd be a Fool if I didn't at least Attempt some Internal Detail

Still looking for some Decent External Plans though....I tried that 'Features' Link, and while ther were some Useful Plans there, that 'Serenity Side' at the bottom looked more like a Reaver Ship

Thanks again :-)
