We’ve discussed our favourite episodes, we’ve discussed the ones we hate, we’ve discussed our favourite quote, our favourite family scenes, heck, this is a gorram firefly website, let’s face it – we’ll discuss just about anything…

So, I’m wiling away an incredibly hot English summer afternoon in my UN-air-conditioned office (grr!) by reading Firefly scripts on the net …

I’m reading Heart of Gold and just laughed aloud one more time at the following exchange:

MAL
You know, it ain't altogether wise,
sneaking up on a man when he's
handling a weapon.

INARA
I'm sure I've heard that said

Now me, well me, as a sexually frustrated 30 something with a smidge of that repression inherent in all true Britishers, well, I can make innuendo out of the most innocent of remarks (heck it, I’m from the nation that made “Carry On” films great!) …

But I just wondered whether any of you would like to contribute your favourite blatantly innuendo-filled Firefly moments – or indeed any of those innocent remarks that you just can’t help taking the wrong darn way …

Go on, heat up an already sweltering afternoon with a nice does of smut …

And of course, made even better by the fact that the second time it's said, it's immediately followed by Zoe showing up and saying, "Jayne, grab your weapon."

I like this from the original unaired version of Serenity:

MAL
After you talk to Badger, see if you
can reach the Ambassador. Let her
know we're out of Persephone fast.
She's got business pending, she
better squeeze it dry and send it
off.

Of course this is before knowing what Inara does so its one of those things that hits you the 2nd time.

2 Good ones in one ep - Good Bible and Good Myth:

SAFFRON (cont'd)
Do you know the myth about Earth-that-
was?

He can feel her closeness, her excitement - tries to be cool amidst the h**d-on.

WASH
Not so much.

SAFFRON
That when she was born, she had no
sky, and she was open, inviting and
the stars would rush into her,
through the skin of her, making the
oceans boil with sensation, and when
she could endure no more ecstasy, she
puffed up her cheeks and blew out the
sky, to womb her and keep them at
bay, 'til she had rest some, and that
we had to leave 'cause she was strong
enough to suck them in once more.

Beat.

WASH
Whoa. Good myth.

Ya know - I posted and re-read my post just now and noticed something that might offend - being all unsubtle and the like. So I edited it - but I swear on a stack of good bibles that's what's in the script.

Double and treble re-reads of posts from now on.

Indeed and if we're going for straight smut …*thinks about naked people* ….

Jayne: I say Zoë gets nekkid

Wash: No

Jayne: I could get nekkid?

Everyone: Noooooo!

And now I have the visual image of a certain tight-panted Captain astride the naked body of a certain skinny independent private (“hey, I said ‘Private’!” *snigger*) …

MAL
You feeling a mite calmer now?

TRACEY
Yes, Sarge.
(then)
Sarge?

MAL
What?

TRACEY
I think I'm nekked.

A beat. Mal's straddling a naked man.

MAL
Okay. We're gonna get up off this
floor, you're gonna stand like a
person, cover yourself, and the
doctor's gonna tend to that gash.

Can’t say I’d be terribly calm if the Cap was straddling me …Ok, don’t get carried away, you’re AT WORK, in yer OFFICE … think about LAW …..

I just kinda find myself mad, because that is NOWHERE in the Bible. There are plenty of romantic passages, especially in Song of Solomon, but none of them are that obvious.

Gee, it's not like Saffron to just make up a fake Bible passage to suit her own goals, honest girl that she is . . .

Nobody's mentioned one of my favorite innuendoes, from "Out of Gas." Kaylee says "ain't nothin' wrong with your grav boot" just after she's been *ahem* engaging in a little engine repair with Bester.

"You can't take my show from me,
Because I've got the DVD."

Actually, noone ever said she was quoting "THE" Bible. Though it may be the case with Book. I personally think what she reads is a religious book of a particular group. Many religions & groups have what they refer to as their "Bible".

How did this get so complicated?

Yeah... unwinding ... speaking as someone who did indeed watch HOG last night , I'd forgotten how good it is but also how much from the script never made it to the screen ... would have liked to see Book's bit where he asks where to sleep and one of the girls asks, "alone?" and he pauses for just that bit too long before answering ....

Hey who knows what can happen to the bible in 500 years? (can't change that much, but just enough for something raunchy to get in)

I like the whole saffron episode in general as a source of innuendos.
"Oh I'm going to special hell"
Don't you just love it!
And anything Jayne says is an innuendo of some kind. (I think there is something about his relationship with Vera.....)
