So I just watched an entire hour on the "new" Sci Fi Friday, and didn't catch a single mention, commercial or otherwise, of the Firefly/ Serenity franchise. Gotta say, I am more than a little dissapointed.

Yep, me too. I wonder if they're scared that our Firefly might outshine theire precious made for Sci-Fi shows.

BTW, isn't Jewel suppose to play a wraith in SG-A...did I see a shot of her decked out as a youthful wraith?

Well, if that's the case, at least she plays a NICE Wraith. Per the commentary, Wraiths don't get all life sucky 'till they get older.

The push of the one hour special was to promote the three shows that have season premieres next friday. Since they won't be airing reruns of Firefly until the following week, and infact are using it's time slot this week to show the Sci-Fi special again, there really was no reason for them to promote it yet.

They should start promoting Firefly this friday, during the premieres. I hope they do, and I also hope that Unversal buys commercial time to promote Serenity on Sci-Fi Fridays!

I'd given some thought to movin' off the edge -- not an ideal location -- thinkin' a place in the middle.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I wondered about the absence of Firefly ads too, but figured the big push for Sci Fi was for their "Sci Fi originals". I too hope that they will start running some ad spots for Firefly to generate some interest in the episodes kicking off the Sci Fi Friday night run.

I do believe that was Jewel done up as the dark haired young wraith. Can't wait to see what she does w/ the part.

I am hoping for a big push for the Firefly reruns during the new premieres this week. I also e-mailed Scifi, and told them that just because FF was already a cancelled show, didn't mean they shouldn't advertise it. They should still want viewers for the 7 pm time slot, right?
No reply, of course.

Y'know, to tell you the truth, I'm not really that surprised to hear that they havn't been promoting the Hell out of FIREFLY. I mean, it's a three year old show, the DVD of it which is selling like hotcakes has been on the shelves for what, two years now, and Space up here in Canada have been getting FIREFLY on a weekly basis for years now as well.

It showing up on another sci-fi network now is just another drop in the bucket.

And wow! Hey! What's this thing suddenly coming towards me very fast? Very very fast. So big and flat and round, it needs a big wide sounding name like ... ow ... ound ... round ... ground! That's it! That's a good name - ground! I wonder if it will be friends with me?

Sci-Fi isn't promoting Firefly yet because it's not starting for a couple of weeks. They'll probably start advertising it heavily this Friday, which is the best time to do it, as more people will be watching Sci-Fi this Friday than any other day this year, probably.

Oh, and Sci-Fi is VERY much motivated for the reruns of Firefly to do well. Sci-Fi, you see, is owned by NBC/Universal, the same people who are distributing Serenity. Basically, they bought the rights to rerun Firefly for the sole purpose of having a place to constantly advertise their upcoming movie.
