Well all right - time to throw this out and see if anyone's buying imprinted goods... I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking this... does anyone know anything about when and where the premiere of Serenity will be? I'm not looking for a seat next to the BDHs and JW (however, if it’s doable I got the popcorn AND soda), just in the same block so I can hear the squeals. Just got to narrow down the time and place - clues? details? conjecture? And if you have really good intel, please pm me

Two Wednesday's before the movie, somewhere in Westwood.

I'm just guessing.

I'm pretty sure I heard that the Premier is on Sept 29th in Australia.

No joke.

When asked at a con, Joss said he thought it would be in LA, like most such premieres (excluding the superblockbusters like SWars, LOTR, etc). So Australia, I doubt it. When--a week or two before Sept 30. Could be any night of the week: I've seen 'em on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, you name it. . . .

America loves a winner!

I'm pretty sure it'll be Atlanta, GA.

Well, it COULD be, since Atlanta was once the capital to the old time Browncoats...err..rebels.

LA, Atlanta, Australia, Netherlands...sounds like a great roadtrip. Thx for the info - guess if anyone knows they're keeping it to themselves - same question on the 'Versal board got a whopping 5 less responses ("let's see... nuthin' from nuthin'...) Gotta be another way...

I'm interested too but I have no clue where or on what date.

Aren't we a fine pair. Maybe you know a cat we could ask? ;)

I emailed a Universal contact email - can't stop the silence.
I emailed the Serenity_LEADER, the admin for 'Versal's board - we'll see.
All in all I "dong ma."

What do you mean by that statement? It might be too early for this type of information. They will probably put it up on Serenity's official home page in September. We just need to be patient.

Just that we both have no clue. The "cat" comment was a *funny* about your sig.
I think you're right - we just got to be patient.

DINEKES

Hi Pizmobeach,

I can't answer your question either, maybe you should keep an eye on the OB (the original Fox Firefly board), there's much plotting and planning going on about the premiere shindig.
And since Chris Buchanan posts there often, he keeps us in the loop about the BDM.
I would love to give you a link to the specific thread, but the OB's wonky today, can't reach it...
Wait, I'll try again, just a moment ...
Woot, it's back again! I'm so relieved! We're fearing the day Fox pulls the plug.
Not that I don't like it here, but ... that other board... *sigh* I love it.
Anyhoo ... here's the link to the LA Premiere Shindig...

Hope you'll be able to be a part of it!

I had to ask. You can't see or hear anything on a message board when someone posts.

I'm glad you asked and I feel the same way.

I saw this over at the 'Versal board concerning the World Premiere:

um.viewtopic&t=15234

And just as I type this I notice TheSteve has posted it!

I also wanted to thank DINEKES for your post (above) - that's a great thread for anyone interested in what people are trying to get together for the LA Premiere - Thx!

I was gutted when the US got all the test screening. I suppose Scotland now has the honour of the World Premiere I shouldn't grudge those test screenings too much now.

And we get a Q&A session with Joss!!

Happy days indeed.

Having a film in the festival is not the same as having its official premiere. Many films play at festivals before they have their official premiere, you know, the one where the cast shows up in nice clothes.

I'd really be amazed if the official premiere were anywhere other than LA. But Joss will be at San Diego Comic Con, so that would be a good place to ask--so someone get in line and ask, in case I can't, ok?

Believe me I was suprised, but the heading does say "GALA/WORLD PREMIERE".

Edinburgh International Film Festival has a huge reputation being the longest continually running festival on the planet.

Remember a lot of huge movies premiere in a little place called Cannes. Last time I checked, there was life outside LA.

Hmmm. Well, that would be interesting if they decided to go that route. I just got the impression from Joss that they didn't think Serenity was up to a non-US world premiere. But Edinburgh's as good a place as any!
