Quite possibly, I should have begun this thread here, instead of where I did...

So, I take it there's really no interest here in organizing anything beyond what individuals are already doing?

It's been a fairly notable silence, so I'm just wondering. No big....it was just a collection of thoughts and ideas!

Cheers!

Well, I'm certainly interested.

I could use some ideas on how to get the word out to the "normal" public. So far, most of my efforts have been tilted toward the SF/F leaning folks.

Well, I just (like, 10 minutes ago) ordered a set of the DVDs to be delivered as a gift to a local radio personality who does their movie reviews. The gift note with it indicates that it's to get him set to see and review Serenity, and gave a brief bit of information about FOX's cancellation of the series.

I won't be able to send out multiple copies, but a lot of people listen to this morning radio show, and it will get some attention from them over the airwaves.

This is in addition to some of my other tactics aimed at the general public.

Another idea: late night/early morning sidewalk chalk tagging.

Using chalk, so it's not vandalism, tag the sidewalk of a street that gets a lot of pedestrian traffic (preferably at a time of day when it's not busy, so as not to be told to cut it out) with one of the movie/series' tag lines -- I like ">Can't stop the signal...", or "Two by two, hands of blue..." or "Out here in the black", followed by www.serenitymovie.com.

Everything I do I try and make serreptitious and clandestine. More likely to make someone pay attention (I think) than just standing on a corner handing out fliers.

Not that I won't be putting up posters in traditional poster/notification places as the release date gets closer....But, a variety of approaches is more likely to make some converts (heck, even name recognition is worth something!)

Cheers, good luck, and share any ideas that my offerings have suggested to you! Pooling ideas means MORE overall ideas!!

Thanks --
