Anyone think we'll ever see where that "war footage" came from?

You know what I'm talking about -- the scenes that are/were in the opening credits and in the original opening dialogue. They show Mal apparently in the field, likely with Zoe, and scenes with what looks like anti-aircraft guns and orbital bombardment and the like. I've seen every episode to date, including the (admittedly probably unfinalized version of the) pilot, and those scenes are nowhere to be seen.

Then again, from what I've seen of the (incomplete?) pilot, it was only about 79 minutes, 30 seconds long. For a two-hour presentation, with commercials, the usual running time is about 43 minutes per hour -- so we might expect as much as 86 minutes of pilot. A lot could take place in those six and a half minutes.... *grin*

History doesn't always repeat itself. Sometimes it merely shouts "Weren't you listening the first time?!?" and lets fly with a club.

Yeah, that footage is from "Serenity"

Hmmm. Must be some version, a more finalized version, than the one that's floating around the various peer-to-peer networks. Well then, all the more reason to look forward to seeing it broadcast at long last.
