A friend just got back to me who went to see War of the Worlds this morning in the UK. Serenity trailer wasn't attached to it. My theory was that it would be, both distributed by UIP. Alas no ... ah well still got a while left :D

Thats a shame :(

I thought we had heard that there would be a different, european trailer, but as one hasn't appeared yet does that mean there won't be one? Does anyone know anything about that?

I very rarely can get to the cinema, but I was hoping to be able to go soon and see War of the Worlds or some other film and see the trailer on the big screen. Is there any word when and with what film(s) the trailer will appear in the UK?

Do we know how long it will be before it`s online (Officially that is)?

I guess someone will have it on file quickly after it`s shown with screencaps.

I`m looking forward to seeing a different take on the trailer for this movie and how differently it`s handled/percieved.

It's a new trailer.

Terestrial TV.

Nothing too fancy for airing (no Mr Ross unfortunately).

But July, August and September are all months where you'll start to (hopefully!) see Serenity stuff in the media. Of course, any other fans who want to help out with that are more than welcome!! (Just ordered 4th Firefly boxset for the media boxes thanks to continuing fiver donations).

No word on online. If somebody has the correct equipment in their PC they will be able to 'rip it' and put it online.

it will prolly be in a show. it's too soon to be an advert, they dont usually do "coming soon" teaser trailers as adverts. i do wonder which terretrial channel show it'll be now.

There's This Morning, Richard and Judy, BBC Breakfast (?), hmmmm ... The Wright Stuff (nah)... hmmm

I'm going to see War of the Worlds on Sunday and I was really hoping that there might be something of Serenity up but...oh well, never mind. When I do actually see it I'm gonna cheer lol.

It'll be good to see if it makes front cover material for any of the various Film magazines...

Maybe it's just me but where I am in the UK, nobody cheers when you go to cinema - nobody claps or boos trailers or the actual film. So me cheering would (presumably) be a big thing lol. Actually I probably wouldn't dare - my friends would probably give me funny looks and then tell me to wait in the car lol.

very occassionally people do when i go. if it's say the first showing of a movie, a preview, or in the west end in the big cinemas there, people are pretty vocal which is kinda great.

Tonight is the last episode of Jonathan Ross in the current series, so it definitely won't be that :/ though it would have been nice, what with Mr. Woss also presenting Film 2005 as well.

I've been to a few films where the audience have cheered. First time I remember is, ahem, when Julia Roberts shoots Patrick Bergin in Sleeping with the Enemy. OK quickly moving on...the Star Wars films usually generate the odd whoop (or sob). Can't say I've ever experienced it with a trailer though.

Similar sort of thing though - went to see a play on Broadyway this year and there was great whooping and cheering when the leads kissed. Yes, there were school parties in the audience but it was still a totally different reaction than you'd get in the West End.

Guess we British are so reserved...!

I don't know for sure whether Film 2005 is still on but I've never understood the BBC's logic with that show - why do they take it off over the summer when all the big movies are released?

Film 2005 isn't on until September, I had a look on their site as I thought that would be the most logical place to be showing it if it's on terrestrial tv.
They list/host some trailers on there, but no mention of Serenity (not too surprising as it's still 4months to go), but it is on their upcoming films calendar, so hopefully it'll get a slot, or at least a mention, when the program returns.

I really hope they feature SERENITY on Film 2005. 1, exposure, obviously. Also, I really think that J. Ross will like it.

I'm thinking T4 could be the most likely place for the trailer. Not sure I'll be watching though. I already feel like I know too much about the movie.

Doesn`t ilm 200x normally do a preview of things to come over the coming year? I seam to remember that even if they aren`t on over the summer months, they show exclusive trailers of stuff they will miss on the very last show ... then it`s See you in the Autumn

We've already had the preview of what's to come from Film 2005 as it finished a few months ago.

The only shows on a saturday are kids shows like M.O.M, The saturday show and Milkshake. I really doubt the trailer being on any of those shows, because the only ones that watch those shows are 10 and under.

T4 is the exception, and I think it is very possible we'll be seeing June and Steve introducing the new BDM trailer.

Oops, don't know why I thought the 8th was a saturday!

Anyway Friday morning programmes are Breakfast on bbc1, CBBC on bbc2, GMTV on ITV Gig Brother, Will and Grace etc.. and Channel 5 has milkshake.

I'm guessing GMTV will be the best bet, I've often seen movie trailers often on the Lorraine Kelly section.

I guess the time and place of the trailer will be advertised on the BDM site closer to the time though.

On a side-note, War of the Worlds is a really good film!

The only trailers shown were Fantastic Four, Herbie, The Descent, Willy Wonka and Stealth as far as I can remember.

Again, there was no response from the audience to any of the trailers nor the film.

I agree, he`s a very funny guy in almost a staight man type of funny - he plays a very good part in the Angelina & Brad Movie Mr & Mrs Smith - I love that movie, it`s very much love & hate & the consequences of knowing that your other half`s day job is working for the other side without you knowing it.

The previews I saw were for Willie Wonka, Cinderella Man, Stealth and King Kong. Seems strange that UIP can't show a preview for a movie coming out in October, but are happy to do so for a movie which doesn't get released until December!

Incidentally, I thought War of the Worlds was absolute rubbish. After an hour I was already thinking of leaving. Great SFX, shame nobody bothered with a script, story, decent acting etc. etc.

I`m glad I wasn`t the only one who found `flaws` in WotW - the suspense was good, the acting from Tom & Dakota Fanning (the girl) was good, but from others it was damm right awful, the reporters, the man in the cellar, and unfortunetely I found the narration to lack teh grittyness of Richard Burton (Ok, so that is the Jeff Waynes Version but the remark remains).
One thing that I almost laughed at (and I appologise to Americans in advance) - the death of Martian Fighting Machines, they were beaten & defenseless but even so, we have to have grutuitus US Army showing their might. There was something else that was grating me, but I`ve mind-wiped that reason.

Still, looking forward to this friday when it has been heavily rumoured that around 8.35am on terrestrial TV the new Serenity Trailer will be shown ... Slowly and Surely, they will parade Serenity before us.
