VETERAN

Don't squat with your spurs on.

The series was axed by Fox exceutives who either, didn't want it in the first place or wanted to see Joss fail. The network didn't show the pilot until the show was official cancelled, showed episodes out of order and prempted it for baseball and Adam Sandler films. The reason there's a movie after all this is because there was a tremendous show of support from fans, which included a demand for DVDs of the series. Through all this Joss and Tim never stopped searching for a venue and based on the DVD sales they were able to convince Universal into backing a movie.

Answer to the first question: Because Fox executives are dumber than a screen door on a submarine.
Answer to the second question: Because there is justice in the 'verse.

"I'm gonna rip you a new puppet hole, bitch!"
