I glanced at it quickly -- what spoilers are you talking about? If you're talking about the stuff in the black spoiler warning area that you have to select with your mouse in order to read...well, what do you expect?

Jayne, your mouth is talkin. Might want to look into that.

If the spoilers ARE true (and even though I have seen the BDM I will neither confirm nor deny) do you REALLY want to know right now, or wait until the BDM is released?

Well, even though somebody is bound to post and ruin this attempt: who says the final cut will really be the same? Now, if you have seen the movie and happen to have a battery of arguments against that, this is the time for quiet, contemplative stfu ,-)

I just read the first page of that thread, but I found The Big Spoilers I'm sure you're talking about.

And since you've asked...

Yes, it's true. But see the movie before you freak out. I promise it's amazing. Also, Jared, it's been expressly stated that what he's talking about will not be changed in the final cut, so stop wishing.

Amen.
If you're a fan of Joss Whedon, NOTHING can possibly surprise you.
He is all about the story arc.
And in a recent interview he said that if something you saw made you cry, chances are really good that he cried when he was writing it.
Look. The movie is wonderful.
Dispite what you may have read, see it anyway.
Or don't.
The movie we saw in the screening was finished except for a few fx, music and sweetening.
The story is the story.
And it's way cool.

It was stated months ago that changing this would change to much of the rest of the movie. The reason not to say it isn't so I can keep wishing (which I never did), but to make it less certain for those who don't want it to be true.

...but then you're just setting them up for disappointment when it doesn't change. I say let's just be honest about the whole thing. In any case, I didn't mean to be rude or anything...I'm sorry if it came off that way.

I'm going to get flamed for this, I can tell.

And why would you want to change it? As devestating as it was it was GREAT drama! We've moved on from TV land and are now surfing the big screen.. stakes need to be raised and I think Joss did that beautifully.

Spoiled.. but just cause I saw it already.

Agreed, Liz. I've seen the movie, and I think it is damn near perfect as it is - I wouldn't want Joss to change a single frame.

It's too bad you got spoiled, because some of the things you read about caught me completely off guard while watching the movie - it's rare for me to be surprised by a movie anymore, and it was most welcome.

It's rather interesting that I've read more spoilers since I saw the movie then I did before. I still avoid any posts that have "spoiler" in them but.. still manage to find the unmarked ones. The contents of which would have ruined the movie for me if I hadn't seen it..

If you can avoid spoilers (which would mean avoiding this thread so /pointless post) I say do it do it do it! The movie is the better for it's suprises.

This is the problem with so many `paid` previews, some feel it is their right, that they`ve seen the movie that they can now talk about it openly.

I 1st saw Serenity in February this year & then again in March, and even though I`m pretty active on the boards, I don`t go about trying to spoil it for others - but if somebody wants to know anything, it`s best to do it via PM or email and not involve the board at all - it will be the same when the Movie is released fully in the US, there will be hundreds of spoilers posted before the rest of the world has had chance to see it.

I`m not bothered - think of it like reading the last pages of a book, you know how the book is going to end, but you don`t neccessarly know exactly how the story and characters are going to get there - another way of looking at it is, if I said about StarWars episode IV that Lukes Uncle & Aunt gets killed, this does not spoil the rest of the story, as it`s an integrated part of the plot (If they hadn`t died would Luke have still joined the Rebels?) there`s other bits like this that I could have chosen, but it`s all just a story.
