For the latest information on the NCBDMPP please go here. At the moment we are planning to have our premiere at the Mission Valley Theatre in Raleigh, NC. Currently we are doing a head count on the number of people needing hotel rooms for the party.

DEADLINE!
(I'm not trying to be bitchy or pushy but I just want to make sure we gets these plans set as soon as possible. Ok, maybe a little bit bitchy)

OK, people JULY THE 28th is the deadline we are setting for putting
you name on the room list. What we really need to do is have everyone
reply by that date to let us know how many rooms you think you will
need and who is staying with who. If you're coming and willing to
share a room, but don't know who you're rooming with its not that big
of a deal I will just group people together (4per room) just to get an
idea of the total number of rooms. Now I know we've been checking into
the BW throughout this little debacle, but if anyone in the area has a
better suggestion for something that's closer and or cheaper I'm all
for it.

It looks like the hotel that we will be using is the Days Inn South located just 1.8 miles away from the movie theater in Raleigh, NC. But we are still looking for the best deal.

We also might be renting a 15 person van so that transportation will be easier.

Was in response to a thread called "Charlotte RollCall" (I think)

I saw the title under recent discussions on the front page - I believe it's located on the "can't Stop the Signal" board, which is where the discussions about preview arrangements/tickets are supposed to be located

however since Joss posts his info in the movie related board - the discussions are somewhat split - who wants to dispute w/ Joss?

Anybody know the time that the premiere party and movie will happen in September? Just a general idea.

I can't remember if I looked at Days Inn or not but out of the ones I do remember, Best Western had pretty decent rates even without a group discount. For 1-2 people per room it was $63 per night and for 1-3 people per room it was $68 per night.

Housed in a building listed on the National Historic Register, Ri-Ra combines the history of Raleigh and Ireland in stylish unison. Filled with authentic details--from a signed Yeats poetry book in the library bar to the original sign from Davy Byrnes pub--you'll feel like you've taken a detour through Dublin. Nightly entertainment keeps the place jumping until the wee hours of the morning.

The Draw
There are four bars (one of which is from the famous Olympia theatre in Dublin and dates back to the 19th century), so there's always plenty of Guinness, Bass and Harp to keep the party going. If it gets too crowded inside, you can slip out onto the outdoor patio to enjoy your pint.

The Scene
College kids and beyond pack this bright, cavernous space on weekends and Mondays for the largest selection of draft beer in town. Contributing to the general din of the place are the namesake, sound-reflecting souvenir saucers lining the walls. It's easy to hang out with your group at picnic-style tables, though it can be nearly impossible to hear someone three feet away when it's crowded. Hidden in back is a small refuge with low music, comfortable seating and a pool table.

The Draw
A wall of beers makes the Flying Saucer a virtual petting zoo for beer drinkers. Try the various specials, including each week's "Fire Sale" beer and Monday's popular "Pint Night," when all pints are $2.50 (a real deal in some cases). The outdoor patio is definitely a winner. A line can form over the weekends, especially if school is in session.

The Scene
An enormous, airy warehouse (the former Power House) sports high ceilings, lots of exposed brick and art-nouveau fixtures. The interior is divided by a colossal set of copper brewing tanks. One side bustles theatrically with the machinations of a spacious, popular restaurant. The other--a large wood-furnished bar--bristles with a social frenzy.

The Food
The Brewery's wood-grilled smoked meats include blackened salmon and New York strip. Pork chops are served on a bed of apple-wood bacon mashed potatoes. Barbecue comes with the requisite fries and slaw. Try the gourmet pasta dishes like the tricolor four-cheese ravioli with pesto. The Brewery also dishes uppity pizzas--get the Margherita with fresh mozzarella and basil.

I called 7 different hotels today and we now have a hotel! My first choice was comepletly booked so we are going with...Best Western.

It is located about five miles from the movie theater and is in a good location. Only one other hotel was cheaper (by 50 cents) but it was in a bad, bad, bad area of town.

I put a hold on 13 rooms but more can be added later with little or no fuss. It can also be cancelled without penelty up to 1 month in advance. Yea for my credit card.

So, please, wait before calling Best Western because the rest of the booking information will be posted in about a week.

Go ahead and call Best Western in order to set up a room. Just say that you are with the FireFly NC group and you will get the $59 price.

On a side not I talked with the people at Ri-Ra and told them that we would be hanging out after the movie. They told me that we most likely can have two of the bars just for our use. I just have to call back at the end of the month to get everything set in stone.
