You people should look up TVguide.com...they provide synopses for shows 2 weeks in advance. Which means the next 2 new Firefly episodes, War Stories and Objects In Space, are up. Apparently, Objects in Space was directed by Joss Whedon. Anyways, here's what TVguide.com says:

War Stories
60 min.
A vengeful crime lord sets out to derail Wash and Mal's medical-supplies scam as payback for Mal's part in a botched train heist. But the bad guy may have met his match in another member of the Serenity crew, who refuses to see the captain go down without a fight.

Objects in Space
60 min.
A bounty hunter (Richard Brooks) is lured into a treacherous game of cat and mouse after he infiltrates the Serenity to deliver the much sought-after River to the Alliance.

Check me out on WinMX, I have the first 8 episodes in SVCD format and give free starts to Firefly fans.

It appears they switched Objects in Space for Heart of Gold. I guess they thought that is was a better or more exciting ep. Now I really can't wait to see it

Thanks for the update. This seems to be the only advertising we're gettin from the show, and even then we have to search for it. Four days left till "War Stories" and I haven't seen a single promo on Fox. I'm actually just tuning into commercials just to see, and all I'm gettin is The 70s Show, 24, and Fastlane, etc... (all of which I don't watch).

Exactly. I haven't seen ONE promo for FIREFLY. Where is all this hype that FOX promised? I wonder if the series did score great ratings if it would even matter to FOX. It's like they've already written it off.

The way I figure it (and please correct me if I'm wrong), when the show goes on hiatus December 20, there will only be 2 episodes remaining unaired. How will they be able to successfully relaunch the show with only 2 original episodes?

The problem last fall was they didn't show the pilot first so people weren't able to really grasp the entire concept. Therefore only die-hard fans hung in there. Let's say they try to reintroduce the series in March. They'll probably kick things off by showing the two unaired episodes. Once again, the show will premiere without the benefit of the pilot, and any new viewers who tune in will be lost. I'm worried they're just going to hold those two episodes, and either never air them or burn them off next summer after Fox has already announced their new fall schedule for 2003.

It goes on Hiatus January 10th. "Objects in Space" was originally suppose to air January 3rd but replaced "Heart of Gold" on Dec 13th instead. So it's possible we'll get one more new episode before hiatus. You are still right though, we'll have a couple of episodes already in production.

I don't see how they'll lure in new viewers without them being confused. The only way newcomers would understand any episode if they 1. download off the net (depending on your speed, it takes an exuberant amount of time) and 2. reading past episode reviews and analysis, but anyone who really wants to give it a chance will just watch regardless whether they've seen past ep or not.

I started watching many show(Buffy and Pretender are those that come to the top of my head right now) while they were many season in...yes it's a little rough in the first ep to really get into it but if the "episode story" is good you come back and start understant the "general story of the serie" after a couple of ep so the argument about new viewer not having pilot to understand the series is stupid. If no new viewer could come in without seeing the pilot the networks would have to air it many times a year....And I really don't think the not airing the pilot really hurted the show I mean not everybody follow every news about and I'm sure that there's at least half the viewer who had no idea the pilot wasn't showed first and they think the episodes are showed in the correct order. The only reason viewer aren't tunining in right now are because of the lack of promotion and the time slot(targeted viewer aren't home to watch)
