Need help getting Firefly Charity Info

I know that fireflyfans have helped collect money, clothes, and cans for the needy. Could anyone here provide links to articles that discuss this charity. I am looking for independent sources.

I haven't heard of the clothes or can drive. The Browncoats Charity efforts I'm aware of are:

- FlyHead did a huge fundraiser last year to get a copy of the Firefly DVD on overy ship in the US Navy.

- At WonderCon last year, the SF Browncoats raised over $2000 for the Red Cross Tsunami Relief Effort.

- At ComicCon in July, the SF Browncoats (with help from the Sacramento, Silicon Valley and San Diego groups, and indivifual Brownoats from as far away as Australia) are doing another charity drive to riase monyey for Equality Now (one of Joss's favorite charities).
