The event was a big success. We were lucky enough to have Tim Minear grace us with his awesome presence and a little Q & A before the movie. I can't remember everything he said, but there were some funny moments. (I'm paraphrasing, so take none of this as gospel.) Of course someone asked if there would be a sequel, and he pretty much thinks that there won't be. A question about Book's past was answered with, "Hey, I think there's going to be a comic about that." Someone asked what Inara's secret was, and his very cryptic response was, (again, paraphrased) "I don't know, and it was even my idea. But I'm not telling you!" This leads me to wonder if he had never fleshed out what her secret was before the series was cancelled, and never really gave it another thought. He told a very funny story after someone asked what the worst moment was during the filming of Firefly. His initial cheeky response was, "Um, when we got cancelled kind of sucked." He then proceeded to tell a story about the last day of filming. The cast was all sad, and it was very depressing, etc. They all went to get drunk somewhere but he decided to go home. Alone. He gets home, still alone. He turns on the TV ("It must have been Friday night") and there's the pilot, finally airing. "Gee, now people will understand what the hell is going on."
So, he was just a gem. Kudos to anyone involved with the organizing of this event. Even with a completely full house, it really did go off remarkably well.
