What's the Official Independents Name?

Ok, sorry to waste a thread on another triviality, but what do you guys think is the official name for the Independents? The Alliance is the Union of Allied Planets, so the Browncoats might be the "Confederate Independent Worlds" to keep up the Civil War allusions. I tend to think that they're the called "Union of Independent Worlds," or something, because otherwise people would occasionally refer to them as the Confederecy, and they never do. With UIW, the only distinguishing words are "Alliance" and "Independent," so that's what they'd always be called.

I always thought that "Coalition of Independent Worlds" sounded good and it refers to a temporary alliance. But if you want to get more originial how "Concorance" instead

I figured they were just the "Independent Planets" or something like that. Might not have even had "independents" anywhere in their organizational name. If you follow early U.S. history, loosely organized local militias working together can do a heck of a lot to frustrate an evil empire.

Its something Ive always wondered about as well. ADoes anyone know if anyone ever uploaded a scan of the Independence insignia onto this site? Id look myself but Im feelin' kind of lazy.

KALATHENA

Names for loose organizations, like "The Independents" tend to be names that grow naturally, not ones that are manufactured by spin-doctors. I would hope there was no such "official" name of the Independents. It would ruin what they stand for.
