Serenity in the bargen bucket

I was out for a stroll today and walked into a Golden Discs in Dublin. I took a look around the shop when something caught my eye. There was Summer, legs spread on that accrued cover staring up at me from the bargain bucket. E12.99. I couldn’t help but feel sad. I decided to walk over to the local video Xtravision and rent my self a movie, and there she was again this time on the UMD box, same damn pose. E11.99 No DVD to be seen. *sigh*…

Nil desperandum. Stores with limited shelf space want to fill them with new releases, which people will buy/hire at closer to list price.
[P]The BDM is still at no. 50 on the amazon.co.uk chart and Firefly is at 81 - they could stay there for months (thats out of tens of thousands - c.f. "Stealth" at no. 2,317). And UMD is tanking, anyway.

don't dispare. Even though it's in the bargain bucket, it means that someone will come across it and buy on a whim, fall in love with our BDH and then want to get the BDS and be coverted!!!

That's sort of me actually! I was just introduced to Firefly a month ago and when I went looking for the BDM at 'Sanity' they did not have it in the alphabetised section... then as I listlessly passed the SALE tables at the front of the shop River whispered "here I am..." and I dived upon it!! I bought a copy and called some friend and told them to buy it too! It was reduced from $37.95 to $14.95 and they now have it featured on the 'best buys' wall - they told me it was selling really well too!

It feels wrong - but there will be more of us in the long run!

I found Serenity bundled with 3 other movies, all which were very bad movies (except for Serenity) selling for less than $10.00USD. A sadness enveloped me seeing this. Seems like some folks just don't appreciate good filming.

Yeah the first time I saw Serenity bundled, it was with Chronicle of Riddick. Saw CofR once on netflix, not a repeat renter. Serenity is a constant watcher. I'm constantly watching for another copy to purchase or make visible to other to purchase.

ie--like the time Circuit City had it for $10 USD and I rearrange the Serenity DVDs into a wonderful fan display, while the other DVDs were SHOVED into a corner. " Mine is an evil laugh!"
