I'm a mature student at the University of St Andrews, living in Edinburgh. I am hoping to organize at least one Can't Stop the Serenity screening to benefit Equality Now (and possibly a local charity) in either Edinburgh or St Andrews this year.

I'm looking for Browncoats to help with planning, orchestrating, and getting the word out. I'm also curious to know how many of you are out there and if you'd be interested in attending a screening or shindig in 2011.

Hi, Bagerpl, Thanks for responding. That's heartening. I'm hoping we can get more people together to put this on. I have offers of assistance from Browncoats as far away as Leeds and Portland, Oregon.

Heartening news indeed.

Time was, Scotland had more Browncoat activity than almost anywhere else in these isles - conventions (real proper Firefly conventions)preview screenings of Serenity and CSTS screenings the first year at least. Oh and the world premier of the BDM IIRC!

Glad to see activity resuming. Only wish I lived closer. Definitely take offers of mentoring and advice from seasoned CSTS organisers - this will be the 6th year running, so most of 'em know what's involved and how to minimise inevitable hiccups.

Why not see about screening Browncoats: Redemption as well (it's not that spoilery for Serenity, so you could show it first as a support feature and most folk attending will be fans already) It may even be part of the support offered - Redemption sales go towards Equality Now as well as 4 other BDH associated charities. Worth looking into. (Mike D the director is here on FFF.net)

Hoping to see another Gloucester one this year.
