Any WI Browncoats?
Didn't make it to the twin cities screening - massive snow that weekend.
The Madison group doesn't seem to have anything going on recently, and the Milwaukke group seemed less.
Wondering how many are in/arouond WI.

Here's a list of those posting in this thread:
jewelstaitefan - Niagara.
Miramel - Madison.
Staples - Mauston/Madison.
Durstlimpbizkit - Jefferson.
Spiralleds - LaCrosse area.

yeah, i like that one. last two years it was at market square (probably due to inexpensiveness). i don't think details as to this year have been posted yet, but the central site does list a june 21 date for madison.

Cool, didn't catch that update before. I have not gotten responses from that guy's email.
Do you know which posters are available? How much they are? I didn't see any pics or prices on those links.
I should be able to make the June 21 screening.
Do you know if the Yellow Feather still sells dusters? Haven't been there in a while, and not sure if I recall brownish colored ones.

Everybody knows where Mauston is. That's the town at the Exit off I-90/94 to go north on the shortcut to Medford, Marshfield, and Phillips. (Family near Madison has cabin outside Phillips).
You're like, only an hour from Madison, right?

if you click on the madison screening from the central sight, there's a link at the top called 'purchase tickets, shirts and poster' which has pictures of both.

Thanks, found it. I thought it would be Serenity posters.
Is it likely to be sold out? Is it general admission, or are the seats assigned for this?

Is the Madison CSTS sold out yet?
Hoping to make it on the 21st, haven't gotten word yet from work. If I make the trip, will there be seats?

So who else made it?
Apparently the t-shirts sold out in the top 2 sizes.
I normally don't get to see cinema showings after seeing a film on DVD numerous times. Makes me really glad I have a great sound system hooked up at home. I understood that all copies of the film but 13 were destroyed, maybe the 13 remaining didn't have the better sound features.

Good to know there are a few browncoats in america's dairyland

I'm from Jefferson, and I'd like to get involved in anything I can possible.

I've been a firefly fan for a few years now but I never really thought about looking for people in my area.

I should have done this from the beginning.
I'll update the starter post with a list of those who post here that they are WI Browncoats. I know there are more on this site. Let me know if you want part of my list deleted.
I will include anybody who wants to be listed, like those who visit or are near WI as well.

Sounds good to me!

I'm trying to put together a Jayne Cobb costume as we speak, and I wish there were more people who were fans around here, I think we'd have a if we all got together sometime.

OK, so apparently BDM has never been on Sci Fi before, and now will air on 3 Jan 09. So where in WI will there be a group together watching it? Or nearby WI?

Calling all Wisconsin Browncoats! We will be running our annual Firefly-inspired airsoft LARP Freefall3 at Apocalypse Paintball in Poynette, WI on July 18-19. If you've never attended Freefall before because it was too far north, now's your chance: Apoc is less than a half-hour north of Madison right off of I-94. We've added rules for Reaver characters and will be starting up the Freefall Market Bazaar this year, so bring any Firefly-esque items you might want to barter, trade, or sell for game cash.

For rules, vids of Freefalls past, details and preregistration see our website www.freefallgame.com

Just got out of CSTS Madison.
I've been to opening night Transformers (and a second time), Star Trek (4 times total), Terminator, all the big ones and have not seen a theater as packed as tonight' Serenity. At least twice of last year's attendance, and likely 3 or 4 times as much. Will need a second screen next year, or else I need to get there much earlier to get neck-friendly seating.
Great job everybody.
Lady sitting next to me said she heard about it "from a friend".

I brought two huge fans with me, and three complete newbies. We all had an enormously great time.

A couple of the people in front of us were only there to see Dr. Horrible, and just ended up staying for Serenity cuz they payed for it. They all seemed to enjoy it too.

I loved watching the new guys' reactions when Wash was...impaled...They were laughing at "I'm a leaf on the wind," and then...well, they weren't laughing anymore.

Grand. Can't wait for next year.

I fully expect the CSTS again, they usually work out the schedules in the spring. Plan for June/July.
I'm from Waunakee.
