Right, however many have been working behind the scenes with drug manufactures and pandemic experts despite Trumps administration. They have been brainstorming to come up with a way to precede when a vaccine becomes available. And what steps to put in place to fight the virus until then.

Can anyone guess who's too stupid to realize it isn't just people dying. It's also the virus breaking the backs of our hospitals across the country. Breaking the backs of all our health care workers. Doctors nurses and all who work in the background. Many are dying and all are under tremendous strain. I won't even mention what it's doing to the economy.

Heed my words when I say he is to stupid to understand.

Racist is right: poor white trash don't know how to run a business, while Asians do know.

Asia's economies are bouncing back. The West is headed in the other direction

Asia's biggest economies have managed to escape prolonged fallout from the coronavirus pandemic. Now they just have to make sure rising cases in the rest of the world don't put their recoveries in jeopardy.

Japan reported Monday that its economy expanded 5% in the July-to-September quarter, allowing it to emerge from recession. That translated to an annual rate of expansion of 21.4%, the fastest pace on record for the world's third largest economy.

Hours after Japan's announcement, China released data showing that its recovery is also continuing to pick up steam. Industrial production in the world's second-largest economy rose nearly 7% last month, beating estimates from economists polled by Refinitiv. Retail sales rose by slightly more than 4% — the fastest pace this year.

The promising news out of Asia stands in sharp contrast to the West, where many nations are grappling with a resurgence of Covid-19 and have been forced to once again impose restrictions in an attempt to bring their outbreaks under control. Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell reiterated last Thursday that the US economy will need more stimulus from both the government and the central bank to get through the crisis.

The Bank of England warned earlier this month of a douple-dip recession for the UK economy as the country re-entered national lockdown. The European Union is facing a similar fate.

"In large part because of a significantly better containment of the virus, most Asian economies are performing better than their Western counterparts," said Louis Kuijs, head of Asia economics at Oxford Economics.

I am certainly a racist. I've fired more than my fair share of poor white trash, and had them deported back to the USA, who were doing lousy work on my overseas construction projects. These were guys, too proud and arrogant and belligerent, who were slowing the work on the projects. They are the kind of people who won't wear a mask during a pandemic and will vote for Trump and don't learn from experience and fight with their girl friends and have addiction problems with alcohol and tobacco. They are a bundle of problems. They are Trump's people.

Biden is trying to get the man he defeated to take action now to try to mitigate the desperate situation he is likely to inherit in January. In a statement on Friday, he called on Trump to concentrate on the emergency at hand and to take urgent action.

But Trump, who held a press conference on Friday claiming credit for vaccine developments while ignoring the lightning spread of Covid on his watch, appears only to have an interest in one thing: his own diminishing political prospects.

Trump megadonors Liz and Dick Uihlein, owners of Uline shipping and outspoken opponents of COVID-19 prevention measures, have tested positive for the virus after attending an election night party at the White House.

Earlier this year, Liz Uihlein called the pandemic “overhyped,” lobbied legislators to overturn the public health restrictions by Governor Tony Evers, and backed a petition to have the Governor removed from office. A rare and brief interview with The Guardian on April 23 introduced Uihlein by stating:

“One of Donald Trump’s most fervent billionaire donors is lobbying against strict stay-at-home rules in the election battleground state of Wisconsin, raising troubling new questions about how the president’s rightwing financial supporters may influence the US response to the pandemic.”

A family friend accidentally linked the Uihleins to Wisconsin’s reopen protests in a separate Guardian interview.

The couple were tested for the coronavirus after saying they were around others who contracted the virus, according to an email sent to employees of Uline. The New York Times tweeted on November 12 that Trump advisor Corey Lewandowski, who was also at that party, tested positive and White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, political director Brian Jack and others in the administration also tested positive after attending the party.

Let’s be honest: But for the covid pandemic, Trump would quite likely have won. Indeed, had he been a more intelligent populist demagogue he might have raised his popularity prior to the election by embracing the role of national champion leading the fight against the virus.

And let’s keep being honest: Biden’s electoral college victory was close. He won Pennsylvania by 0.7%, Wisconsin by 0.4%, and Georgia by 0.3%. Had fewer than 0.5 % of Biden voters gone for Trump in these three states, he would have been re-elected. Moreover, in each of these states the votes received by the Libertarian candidate was greater than Biden’s margin of victory. We know how things might have gone had there been no Libertarian candidate -- Trump would have won.

I can answer that. CNN has never had a feature of running COVID-19 counts, though it still carries COVID-19 news on its (html) front page.

It's the NYTimes that has had, and still has, that feature.

Scott Atlas’s rabble-rousing will lead to illness and death. He should be fired.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/

SCOTT ATLAS is a neuroradiologist, not an infectious disease expert, nor an epidemiologist. As President Trump’s leading adviser on the coronavirus pandemic, he continues to make statements that will cause more illness and death. He ought to be fired immediately.

This weekend he was speaking about Michigan, which, like other states in the Upper Midwest, is struggling with the raging virus. Hospitalizations are way up, new cases are shooting ever higher, deaths are four times greater than in September, and the test positivity rate is 9.8 percent, indicating the virus is spreading. On Sunday, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced reasonable new restrictions in an effort to slow the spread, including closing bars and restaurants, casinos and bowling alleys; sending college and high school students to remote classrooms; and ordering all but essential workers to labor from home.

“We are in the worst moment of this pandemic to date,” she said in words that could apply to the entire country. “The situation has never been more dire. We are at the precipice and we need to take some action because as the weather gets colder and people spend more time indoors, the virus will spread, more people will get sick, and there will be more fatalities.”

Dr. Atlas has frequently belittled lockdowns and pandemic restrictions, saying they have deleterious knock-on effects and are unnecessary, and that only the “vulnerable” need protection. Of the Michigan restrictions, he wrote on Twitter: “The only way this stops is if people rise up. You get what you accept. #FreedomMatters #StepUp.” So, while the governor was desperately trying to save lives by slowing the virus transmission, Dr. Atlas was urging people to disobey and revolt. This is incendiary talk, especially since the governor was the target of a kidnapping plot foiled by the FBI before the election. Dr. Atlas later insisted he would never encourage violence and was talking about voting and peaceful protest. Michigan governor announces new coronavirus restrictions Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) on Nov. 15 suspended indoor dining at restaurants and bars for three weeks due to the rising number of coronavirus cases. (Governor Gretchen Whitmer/Facebook)

But the damage was done. His message was that people should ignore the governor and resist the pandemic restrictions, as Mr. Trump did with his “LIBERATE” tweets in April. If Dr. Atlas’s advice is followed, more people will get sick and die. The nation is engulfed in coronavirus infections; the spread is extremely alarming, with more than 100,000 new cases every day since Nov. 4. The tidal wave of disease is stressing hospital systems to their limit, and all but ensures that deaths will be increasing in the weeks to come.

It is bad enough that Mr. Trump walked away from a strong federal response to the pandemic and left it to beleaguered states. Now that the states are on the front lines of the battle, telling people to disobey the governor and “rise up” is appallingly ignorant and foolish. “It actually took my breath away, to tell you the truth,” Ms. Whitmer said on Monday. Yes, it is breathtakingly wrongheaded."
---
Dr. Atlas is not fighting for you or me. He's backed by conservative money and the Hoover Institution, which essentially means that his role is to twist any medical evidence that he can to avoid lockdowns that will affect businesses' bottom line. His role is not to care if 1% of all American workers die, so long as the gears keep turning and the economy keeps running. Basically, he's a disingenuous evil hack.

Atlas is a traitor and should be dealt with as such. Fuck Nazis.
