Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump is on a rampage this morning against Iraq and Iran:

General Qassem Soleimani has killed or badly wounded thousands of Americans over an extended period of time, and was plotting to kill many more...but got caught! He was directly and indirectly responsible for the death of millions of people, including the recent large number of PROTESTERS killed in Iran itself. While Iran will never be able to properly admit it, Soleimani was both hated and feared within the country. They are not nearly as saddened as the leaders will let the outside world believe. He should have been taken out many years ago! (How long have I been President?)

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

The United States has paid Iraq Billions of Dollars a year, for many years. That is on top of all else we have done for them. The people of Iraq don’t want to be dominated & controlled by Iran, but ultimately, that is their choice. Over the last 15 years, Iran has gained more and more control over Iraq, and the people of Iraq are not happy with that. It will never end well!

At least six people were killed alongside Soleimani in the drone strike. Killing of other individuals alongside Soleimani was absolutely unlawful. International law allows military action against Soleimani in case of imminent attack, but the Pentagon’s statement said that it aimed at “deterring future Iranian attack plans.” Future is not the same as imminent which is the time based test required under international law.

Trump’s administration is deeply dishonest and it’s foolish to trust them on Iran.

Donald Trump is a deeply dishonest person since long before he was a politician. He’s written in multiple books about his profound belief in the value of lying as a means to get ahead. And he’s good at it. After his Atlantic City casinos went bust, he successfully duped a bunch of mom-and-pop equity investors out of their money to get out of debt and had them pay him a salary for the privilege. He then got himself elected president and immediately started bullshitting about everything from the size of his inaugural crowds to the way NATO works to Chinese currency manipulation.

When someone has proven over and over again that they are not trustworthy, you can, and in important situations should, stop trusting them.

Unfortunately, in the escalating crisis with Iran, many people seem to have forgotten this basic principle.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

The US assassination of Qassem Soleimani means that the United States and Iran are at war. The killing of another country’s most important military official is tantamount to a formal declaration of hostilities. The question now is not whether the two countries are at war. It’s about how many people are going to die as a result.

As a special bonus, N. Korea's Kim knows Trump assassinated the Iranian at the airport. Kim knows Trump would assassinate him, too, if Kim went to an international airport. That puts an end to Trump ever negotiating N Korea's nuclear disarmament. Trump will never get his Nobel Peace Prize. He wanted one because Obama had one.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009 is to be awarded to President Barack Obama for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples. The Committee has attached special importance to Obama’s vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons. (Funny how Trump tore up Obama's nuclear weapons treaty with Iran.)

Before it even started, having had experience with Vietnam, I knew how the second Iraq War would end: no Weapons of Mass Destruction, hundreds of thousands of dead women and children, multi-trillion dollar increase in the National Debt. I never knew even one Trump lover who was capable of imagining ahead of time any of those costs. None of them seemed aware of how stupid George Bush, Dick Cheney, and Donald Rumsfeld would conduct that war, although if you knew what an idiot Bush was as Governor of Texas, it was easy to predict the upcoming fiasco. Even today, most of the Trump lovers aren't even aware of the costs now that the war is more or less over.

If Trump cranks up a war, knowing his business past and his stupidity, it will be a larger, more expensive fiasco than Iraq. Maybe he won't turn the crank, but mostly out of cowardliness, not braininess. The Trump lovers cannot see a very likely international disaster coming. That is why Trump lovers struggle to stay in the middle class. They cannot swerve around the obvious disasters in life. They plow right into catastrophe, without using their brakes, brains, steering wheels or imagination. Then they blame somebody else, never themselves, for their "unavoidable accidents".

Going to war with Iraq would mean shouldering all the responsibilities of an occupying power the moment victory was achieved. These would include running the economy, keeping domestic peace, and protecting Iraq's borders—and doing it all for years, or perhaps decades. Are we ready for this long-term relationship?

Years before victory, FDR's State Department made clear plans about what to do in Germany and Japan after the war. Trump couldn't plan a company picnic. If Trump starts a war with Iran, it will end as an unplanned fiasco. Luckily, Trump is a coward compared to Bush -- at least Bush joined the Texas National Guard -- so Trump might not have the guts to start a stupid war in Iran as Bush did in Iraq.

Yep it is. Don't get me wrong wish. I love that we killed this guy. It's just not that simple. I also have no doubt Trump did this for political reasons. You know, wag the dog. I'll continue to believe that until it is proven untrue.

Let's not forget that Trump sees doing this as a political win that will help him in the election. He said as much. Several times when he repeatedly said Obama wanted to do this to win an election.

Proof its political is that he refused to work with half the government regarding this. The half that represents most voters. Remember, he lost the election regarding the vote count by 3 million votes.

The emails don’t say what Trump says, but will he stop lying? Never!
Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
Christopher Bedford, The Federalist Senior Editor. “There is NOTHING NEW in these Emails at all that’s been discovered. It’s exactly what we knew before, which is that the White House & political figures wanted to cut off aid, Trump wanted to question aid to a number of different places that he thought were wasteful, and the career staff, as they always do, pushed back, and made a million excuses as to why they could not possibly stop spending U.S. taxpayer money. There was a back & forth over the legal arguments, & the W.H. decision was followed, and then it was withdrawn. The Democrats argument for impeachment has not gotten stronger over the last few weeks. As Senator Josh Hawley just said, he’s going to enter a Motion to Dismiss the Impeachment Trial because it’s never actually been brought to trial.”

Wow. Trump is quite literally using Twitter as a way to declare war on Iran without even notifying Congress through official means. Never before in the history of the United States has any President been this unhinged and disrespectful of our Constitution.

Even after Japan bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, “a date which will live in infamy,” FDR went to Congress on December 8 to declare war. But for us, we may wake up to see one of “These Media Posts” from Trump to see the start of WW3 on Twitter.

No dear, it really didn't happen. And you were never able to then, nor can you now, nor will you ever be able to - show that it happened.

Because it didn't happen.

The fact that you're certain something happened that never did happen, that you've been COMPLETELY unable to evidence in the real world at any point in time, should give you pause to reconsider your tether on reality.

Why do you believe something that you can't point to, nor can you explain how it was, somehow, 'disappeared'?

But I don't expect you to believe me. In fact I demand that you don't! Belief is for wimps and mental midgets! Come up with reasonable scenarios. Test them out. Demonstrate to yourself if it's possible. Do everything you can think of.

But if you find that it isn't possible to completely 'disappear' a post, let alone a series of them, between two different posters, you need to have the courage to trust your real-world evidence.

Our last two presidents started wars with other nations, repeatedly, without Congressional approval.

Not saying that it was right, in fact I argued against it vehemently especially during the GWB admin, but that is the facts.

And, BTW, Trump hasn't started a war. He carried out a drone strike, which GWB did all the time, and Obama did 10 times as much.

And, BTW, none of these men were helming the controls when the strikes were carried out either.

Find another road to a Democrat president. This one isn't going to work either.

Nobody who voted for Trump cares what the House of Representatives has to say about anything:

U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the House will introduce and vote on a war powers resolution this week to limit U.S. President Donald Trump’s military actions regarding Iran.

“This resolution is similar to the resolution introduced by Senator Tim Kaine in the Senate,” Pelosi said in a statement late on Sunday.

“It reasserts Congress’s long-established oversight responsibilities by mandating that if no further Congressional action is taken, the Administration’s military hostilities with regard to Iran cease within 30 days.”

The resolution is likely to win approval in the Democratic-led House, but prospects for passage are less certain in the Senate, which is controlled by Trump’s fellow Republicans, many of whom have said they support the president’s action on Iran.

Nobody in the country cares what the House of Representatives says about anything. They regularly poll in the high teens or low 20's in their approval rating. Trump masterfully goaded them into a position where it's him vs. the House, and his 45.3% approval rating trumps all of them.

Pun intended.

The only reason you give a shit right now is because they're pretending to be doing what you've been yelling about for over three years now.

I actually support that. I've been yelling about that one 5 times as long as you've been yelling about Trump.

It's too bad that it took Trump to get Congress to do their goddamned job. If they make it about the Office of the President in general, and not about Trump specifically, that will be good for the future of our country.

Congress has never done its job because most voters, but not all, will not remove a Congressman for being a lazy, indecisive dimwit who talks too much. Congress, being full of those flawed people, very much like what 99% of Americans are, pretends to be strong and decisive. I guess since voters can't tell the difference between a counterfeit and genuine personality, always being easily faked out by talented actors playing the role, that is the way things will stay in Congress. Congress does know how inadequate its members are, so it gave its powers over to the President. And look what Presidents have done: Truman nuking women and children, or JFK and his Cuban Missile Crisis, or LBJ and his Vietnam War, or Nixon and his secret bombing of Cambodia, or Bush and his nonexistent WMDs in Iraq. Or loud & stupid Trump and his confused negotiations to denuclearize Iran and N Korea.

I don't need a lecture about how bad the people in Congress are, or how stupid most Americans (see: Humans) are either. That's neither here nor there.

My point is that Trump put himself in the position right now where it's Trump (45.3% Approval) vs the US House (27% Approval).

https://news.gallup.com/poll/1600/congress-public.aspx

And you know the only reason that the House has a 27% approval rating right now is because people who believe that Orange Man Bad were happy about the Impeachment to give them that bump where they were hovering below 20% before impeachment. As soon as they figure out that Impeachment isn't even official yet and it's not going to go anywhere, they're going to go right back down into the teens where they belong and Trump's 45% is going to dwarf them.

Meanwhile... not a single Democrat on the trail outside of Buttigieg is going to stand a chance against Trump, and the DNC and Legacy Media in cooperation with Bloomberg are doing their damnedest to make sure that never happens.

No, you did not. Renaming a thread doesn't make it "disappear", it just gives it a different name. You can even DELETE a thread title and make it difficult to access, but there will still be the name of the person who started it and the date of the last entry showing. There's no way in hell you can make an entire thread "disappear", and once you get that into your poor deluded head you will be one step closer to reality ... which, in your case, would be a giant improvement.

If you don't believe me how this website works, just ask anyone.

Now, I will grant you that SOME posts have been lost. For example, a number of BRENDA's posts no longer appear, although it's clear from the thread that people were responding to something she posted, and she was responding back. That's a fuckup (corruption) of the database that handles this website ... the database that keeps track of the who, what, and when of the entries. But that's something that happens at the back end ... can't be invoked by us mere users ... and tends to be rather non-selective (by category) and isn't targeted to a specific post. You should learn a LITTLE about programming and databasing, so you've have a better idea of what you're posting about.

Unless, of course, you're implying that Haken made some specific posts "disappear" on purpose. In which case, you're loonier that I gave you credit for.

Well, that's what I was telling GSTRING! But he's floated the idea, more than once, that we paid Haken to "disappear" his "G" account, thus making his posts unfindable! You might want to have a talk with him.

Quote:

That's what I keep saying! WHY would "RUSSIA!" pay anyone, let alone TWO people, to post to a dead-end no-account website? It doesn't make any sense!

Still, you keep going on about this conversation that you insist happened, and you keep thinking that Haken made it "disappear" at our behest ... really, engaging in the same delusional thoughts that you say I entertain!

Quote:

He's busy, he doesn't care what shit you are shipping.
Indeed! I never thought you would post something with which I was in so much agreement! He couldn't be bothered to make such an innocuous post invisible! And, as users, WE can't either! So you might want to entertain the thought that it didn't happen, that you misintepreted something that you read (which, given the number of times you misinterpret things, is a strong possibility) and misinterpreted/misremembered your family's response (which, given the number of times you browbeat people here, maybe they were just looking to avoid one of your rants at home?)

Here's a hint, TWITCHY: You people tend to stick up for each other. When one of you gets your ass handed to you, another one of you will swoop in - usually with insults or distractions - to save one of the tribe.

But despite the fact that you've kind of made it a big deal by adding this delusion of yours to your signature so that it appears over and over - making it unlikely that anyone could miss your point - nobody else is swooping in to say they saw it too, or providing links or expanding on your accusation.

So you might want to reconsider whether you saw it at all, because nobody else around these parts remembers anything like it. You're all alone in this, toots. You might want to seriously consider the possibulity that you're fundamentally in error.

Uh huh. It’s common practice to share this kind of information with the leaders of Congress, the so-called Gang of Eight. Their reputation for keeping secrets is pretty spotless. And yet, Trump still hasn’t done this. He just insists that the evidence is bulletproof and we should take him at his word.

I sure don’t. I think he’s lying. He killed Soleimani in a fit of pique and now he’s trying to invent some kind of massive attack on American forces that’s entirely out of character for Iran.

I might be wrong about that. But given Trump’s track record, anyone who doesn’t start out by doubting him is either an idiot or a shill.
