I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

Microsoft's effort to protect you from unapproved news. They want it installed everywhere (of course). The news will be "vetted" by "independent" journalists like ex-CIA/NSA officials Chris Hayden and ex-UnderScy "Chief Propagandist" State Richard Stengel. Because, of course, they're "unbiased". JFC. Welcome to 1984.

Wow - you went back almost a year to get something to be snippy about.

That's a tough nut to crack - accurate reporting rating for Truth - it definitely *could* be better than algorithms though. Facebook used those until it was obvious they were flawed and easy to game.

“Our goal isn’t necessarily to stop [fake news] but to arm people with some basic information when they’re about to read or share stuff,” Brill said. “We’re not trying to block anything.”

Ideally, he said, a user encountering, say, the website Whatisfracking.com in a Google search would quickly learn that the site is funded by a vested interest, the American Petroleum Institute. It would also instantly flag as “fake news” a site such as the Denver Guardian, which posted a bogus story about Hillary Clinton that was viewed by about 1.6 million people during the late stages of the 2016 presidential campaign."

Sounds great, but people are involved so, yanno... I honestly don't see it working.

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.
