I'm guessing FREM would have a lot to say about this. I'm also going to guess that when the president is a serial groper it sets the tone for others to behave badly as well - especially the sh*ts that follow him. Wife beaters, pedophiles... he hangs with all the "best" people.

Yep, all of Obama's serial sex predators galavanting through State Department sex parties in Columbia certainly set a better example. But then, we already knew they were the very worst people that Obama hung with.

The story I found was that Trump's people in Colombia are dirty. In stark contrast, everyone was fired when a similar incident happened during Obama's Presidency. Trump needs to follow Obama's example and fire everybody, then prosecute them.

I see that Trump let the guy retire with a pension rather than jail him.

Obama voted the most admired man according to a Gallup Poll...I believe it's 10 years in a row. One more and he ties Eisenhower. Michelle voted most admired female. Oprah came in 3rd overall.

Obama got 19% and Trump a distant 12%, awwwwww!

Trump approval rating 39% the lowest since the whole Charlottesville debacle.
And he got a disapproval rating of 56%, dammmmmmmn!

39% is still higher than any point of Obama's presidency, aside from two months during the summer of 2009.

When I posted that I have a cousin who worked for ICE on the Mexico border and that the sexual exploitation that he observed made him sick (literally), I was called a LIAR!!!! in no uncertain terms!

Now genius here reports that there's sexual exploitation in ICE??? Gee, whooda thunk?

Here's a hint, genius-boy: Sexual exploitation goes under-reported EVERYWHERE. It's under-reported on college campuses. It's under-reported in the film industry and media. It's under-reported on the assembly lines, and ONLINE. It's under-reported in families and churches. It's pretty much under-reported everywhere, as long as there is a power-dynamic where some people are taking advantage of their power, and ESPECIALLY when there is a language barrier. I think we can take it for granted that it's under-reported about ICE too.

What does this have to do with Trump? My cousin joined (what would later become) ICE at the beginning of his professional career forty years ago. He was assigned to Campo, CA, and one of the things that gave him an ulcer was knowing how abusive and predatory some of his fellow "officers" were, especially towards pretty young women. No. I was looking at the approval vs. disapproval for the direction the country is headed... which is MUCH higher right now than it ever was during Obama's presidency (Save for two months during Obama's first year as President).

That's a more important statistic in my eyes than the popularity contest revolving around one man.

Funny that this poll was put together back in July and this is the first I've heard of it. I've downloaded it and will be looking through it after work.

If it is legitimate, then our resident RUSSIA!!!! Trolls here are representative of less than 1% of the country today. This wouldn't be surprising since less than 1% of the country watches CNN/MSNBC on a daily basis.

EDIT: One thing I did have a chance to look at before I go is the Satisfaction to Dissatisfaction ratio breakdown for the question "In general, are you satisfied or dissatisfied with the way things are going in the United States at this time?" that dates back to 1983.

Though the current month's result is 35/62/2 and doesn't sound very great, it has been flirting with the high 30's several times this year.

It should be noted that the ONLY time during the entire Obama presidency that the number was ever as "high" as 35 for satisfaction were two months, all the way back in May and August of 2009. A majority of his presidency was mired in the 10's and 20's for Satisfaction.

How am I only hearing about this now? /end of rhetorical questions

You're talking about equal application of the law when it comes to sexual abuse, no? Hmmm... Jeffrey Epstein ...

Jeff owns a private island informally called "slave island". He owns a private plane called the "Lolita express". He is reputed to have bought dozens, of not hundreds, of underage girls for sex on his island and to share them with powerful men, filming them for blackmail purposes. One of the then-young girls claims to have been forced to have sex with "numerous" powerful figures.

Quote:

In a 2006 court filing, Palm Beach police noted that a search of Epstein’s home uncovered two hidden cameras. The Mirror reported that in 2015, a 6-year-old civil lawsuit filed by “Jane Doe No. 3,” believed to be the now-married Giuffre, alleged that Epstein wired his mansion with hidden cameras, secretly recording orgies involving his prominent friends and underage girls. The ultimate purpose: blackmail, according to court papers.

“Jane Doe No. 3” also alleged that she had been forced to have sex with “numerous prominent American politicians, powerful business executives, a well-known prime minister, and other world leaders.”

Epstein has spent the bulk of his adult life cultivating relationships with the world’s most powerful men. Flight logs show that from 2001 to 2003, Bill Clinton flew on Epstein’s private plane, dubbed “The Lolita Express” by the press, 26 times. After Epstein’s arrest in July 2006, federal tax records show Epstein donated $25,000 to the Clinton Foundation that year.

You're in a froth about Trump, who paid for sex with prostitutes and claimed that he could have grabbed a woman's pussy if he wanted to, versus someone who spent a lot of time with a convicted sexual predator?

Are you looking for justice here?

Nah.....

Signym, Trump is tied closer than Clinton to Epstein. The story to read:

Now President Trump’s secretary of labor, Alexander Acosta, 49, oversees a massive federal agency that provides oversight of the country’s labor laws, including human trafficking. Until he was reported to be eliminated on Thursday, a day after this story posted online, Acosta also had been included on lists of possible replacements for former Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who resigned under pressure earlier this month.

A woman who claims in a lawsuit that she was lured into a sex-trafficking ring run by billionaire Jeffrey Epstein contends that the depravity began at a Florida resort now known as the winter White House: Mar-a-Lago. “I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy," Trump told New York Magazine back in 2002. “He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it — Jeffrey enjoys his social life.”

Yeah T, I doubt there's anything she/he/it wouldn't lie about.- GSTRING

Do you know what I think when you post like this, GSTRING? That I've made a point that you can't refute with facts and any rational point... because you have none, and you never had. When you resort to defamation, name-calling, and lies ... diversion and distraction ... which is pretty much all the time ... is when I think I've been proven correct. Which is pretty much all the time.

And it's especially under-reported and under-prosecuted for the Grabber in Chief Jeffrey Epstein, convicted sexual predator and big buddy of Bill Clinton- SIGNY

God - don't hurt yourself stretching so far! So...for you it's ok for Trump because a "buddy" of Bill Clinton was a convicted sexual predator? What sort of messed up brain do you have? WTF... - GSTRING

Nah.....

*snore*
You're confused again granny. You're the one who brought up Jeffrey Epstein. I think he should burn in hell along with Trump. You're the one flailing and failing to make it an either or thing.

SECOND< I like the way you cherry pick and misrepresent facts, even in the articles that you link. Do you think that nobody is going to read them?

This is from the article that YOU linked...

Quote:

Epstein, a well-connected Manhattan money manager and philanthropist, was once a regular at Mar-a-Lago
Which is a fancy hotel
Quote:

and an active supporter of the Clinton Foundation—repeatedly lending his 727 jet to Clinton for trips overseas.

Dershowitz defended Epstein amid an investigation into his involvement with underage girls more than a decade ago, and it was Acosta—then the U.S. attorney overseeing south Florida—who allowed Epstein’s case to be resolved in state court in 2008.

The scandal has spawned a series of drawn-out civil suits, including Giuffre’s.

Giuffre, formerly Roberts, claims she was 15 and working as a towel girl at Trump’s posh Palm Beach club when she was recruited nearly two decades ago into sexual slavery by socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, then Epstein’s girlfriend.

Recruited by
"not Trump".

Now, I think Acosta was a poor choice, but once his involvement with Epstein became known, Trump dropped him.

If there is an investigation to be done at least let's make it an unbiased one, and NOT always focusing on Trump.

*****

But back to the OP... the idea that sexual abuse in ICE is "Trump" problem is fantastical. I'm sorry to say it's been going on for ... well, decades... through Bill's and George's and Barrack's Presidencies at least, and probably longer. Everywhere there is a hierarchy ... teachers/professors and students; priests and children; bosses and employees; guards/police and prisoners; sociopaths and everyone.

Whatever way we've been "handling" sexual abuse clearly hasn't been working. "Sensitivity" training isn't the answer.

I can't be arsed to figure out what thread the polling history dating back to 1983 was posted. It's on Gallup. Look it up.

Ok... from Gallup:

https://bit.ly/2EYZ0sQ

Wrong as usual. For 8 years Obama hovered around 50%, while Dump is around 40% so far.

Maybe you were looking at how Republicans viewed Obama?

No. I was looking at the approval vs. disapproval for the direction the country is headed... which is MUCH higher right now than it ever was during Obama's presidency (Save for two months during Obama's first year as President).

That's a more important statistic in my eyes than the popularity contest revolving around one man.

Citations in a previous post to the Gallup polling data on that fact dating back to 1983.

Nice try! Here's the exchange:

SGG - "Trump approval rating 39% the lowest since the whole Charlottesville debacle."

You - "39% is still higher than any point of Obama's presidency, aside from two months during the summer of 2009."

Maybe you didn't know what you were responding to... until now?

Fine. I'll give you that one.

So now the question is...

Are you going to let semantics keep you from letting the fact that more Americans by nearly TWO TIMES approve of the direction the country is going in right now than at nearly any point during Obama's 8 years as president sink in?

Do Right, Be Right. :)
