You're going to declare yourself the winner without actually having won. Good for you. But there is article on the subject about why it’s pointless to argue on the internet. https://qz.com/1513176/

John Stuart Mill explains, in 1869, why you can never win an argument on the internet:

"So long as an opinion is strongly rooted in the feelings, it gains rather than loses in stability by having a preponderating weight of argument against it. For if it were accepted as a result of argument, the refutation of the argument might shake the solidity of the conviction; but when it rests solely on feeling, the worse it fares in argumentative contest, the more persuaded its adherents are that their feeling must have some deeper ground, which the arguments do not reach; and while the feeling remains, it is always throwing up fresh intrenchments of argument to repair any breach made in the old."

Mill highlights the often overlooked reality that many opinions aren’t based on facts at all, but feelings. And so, contradictory points of information don’t shift emotionally rooted arguments, but only cause people to dig deeper into their emotions to hold onto those views.

But more importantly: You got hoist on your own petard. YOU wanted an America where people couldn't agree on anything. Now Americans can't even agree on deporting illegal immigrants. Welcome to the nation that you wanted!

"The messy American environment, where most people don't agree, is perfect for people like me. I CAN DO AS I PLEASE." - SECOND

Signym, agreement does not come easy for Americans. They have all kinds of strongly held opinions, pro or con, but they are not strong people, except in their imaginations. They become weaklings in reality when it comes time for Americans to stop arguing and make a decision, then paying the full price. The majority suddenly becomes the "undecided" or the "not sure". The price seems too high. They want to talk about it some more. And then some more after that. And even more, because the actual price scares them. A concrete example might make this clearer.

Trump and Signym want a Wall. Great decision! What are you willing to pay for it to get the Democrats' votes? What is their price? Don't offer the Democrats an end to the shutdown. That is what Trump wants for himself. Trump does not want to be blamed for the shutdown so he offers the Democrats an end, but that is exactly the same as Trump giving himself a two part gift: the Wall plus the Shutdown Ends. The real price for the Trump Wall is what the Democrats, not Trump, want. Is Trump willing to learn that price then pay it? If not willing, too bad about the Wall not being built. Trump and Signym will have to live and die without what their mighty hearts' desire.

Alexandra Pelosi on Wednesday offered high praise for her mother's negotiating skills. In an interview, Alexandra Pelosi was asked about her thoughts on the lawmaker's shutdown discussions with President Trump ahead of a White House meeting with congressional leaders scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.

“She’ll cut your head off and you won’t even know you’re bleeding,” Alexandra Pelosi said of the likely incoming House Speaker. "No one ever won betting against Nancy Pelosi. You've got to give her credit, no matter what you think of her."

Pointing to her mother's long-standing House service through several presidencies, she added that it should "make you sleep at night" that "at least somebody in this town knows what they're doing."

I hope Alexandra is correct about Nancy. I hope that the Democrats don't believe Trump when he claims his Wall is for "the National Security." That negotiating trick has been used thousands of times since 1945 and Democrats keep falling for it. I hope this time they make Trump pay for his Wall, not giving it to him for free because he says the magic words "the National Security."

It's blatantly obvious where a large proportion of the insults and defamatory comments come from on this board.

I find it extremely funny that they continue to claim that you're from Russia when those of us who are regularly attacked tend to get along generally well with each other both in the RWED and in other parts of fff.net. It's even more funny when somebody tries to tell me that I'm from Russia myself when just the day before they were claiming I'm a Nazi.

Fact-check about building a wall from the 95-minute session with Mr. Trump.

www.msn.com/en-us/news/factcheck/trump’s-freewheeling-and-fact-free-ca
binet-meeting/ar-BBRJIbd

A wall, he said, would stop the flow of heroin into the country, and it would stop human trafficking. There are “probably” 30 million to 35 million undocumented immigrants in the United States, he speculated, and they cost the government $250 billion, which “would pay for the wall.”
(Government and independent analyses have estimated there are about 11 million undocumented immigrants in the country, and one of the highest estimates for costs of illegal immigration — a criticized study from an anti-immigration group — pins the figure at $116 billion. Building a wall would not remove these immigrants from the United States and reduce whatever costs they impose.)

GOP Senator Jeff Flake wanted to help undocumented immigrants — and then settled for nothing

Nothing troubles Jeff Flake more than Trump’s hardline immigration agenda. He comes by it honestly: The Arizona senator attributes his soft spot for undocumented immigrants to his childhood growing up on a ranch. He understands the United States’ labor demands and respects the hard work and sacrifice immigrants endure to give their families a better, safer life. He naively didn’t think the Trump administration would try to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. When they did, in September 2017, Flake thought, even more naively, that Republicans and Democrats could band together and pass a version of the DREAM Act, a bill that would have given a path to citizenship to young undocumented immigrants.

But Republican Senate leaders, perhaps more aware of Trump’s extremism on the issue, were reluctant to move on immigration altogether, leaving close to 700,000 undocumented immigrants in legal limbo. By the end of 2017, no one was seriously talking about immigration.

But then, as Senate Republican leaders were scrambling to patch together votes for a tax bill, Flake suddenly had the leverage to push action on immigration, since the party could lose just only one vote (with John McCain living out his last days in Arizona).

But Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and the White House leaned hard on Flake. He’s a Republican; he’s supposed to cut taxes.

In exchange, Flake wanted a seat at the table on the immigration debate. He didn’t get any specific policy concessions or a timeline for when an agreement on DACA might happen. To understand how little Flake got, here’s what he himself said of the agreement.

“Giving protections for those kids — that’s what I hope comes out of it,” Flake told Vox at the time. “Obviously they can’t commit to do that, but they’ve committed to move forward with me and work with me on that.”

It’s been a year since Flake struck that deal. Congress never touched immigration again in any meaningful way.

The tax bill, however, is now law.

Why?

If the process of re-applying for asylum would somehow magically reunite the parents with the children, why couldn't they be reunited without being able to re-apply for asylum?

Migrant children have gone to Bethany Christian Services, an adoption organization with deep ties to the DeVos family.

The Trump administration argued in court earlier this week that reuniting migrant children separated from their parents at the border would require too much effort and “would present grave child welfare concerns”, as the children would be traumatized by leaving their current sponsors’ homes.

Though concerns for the psychological well-being of the children are specious at best, considering the original trauma was inflicted by the administration, the situation has a second nefarious element: many of these children are being sent to a Christian adoption agency with ties to Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.

Via Progressive Secular Humanist:

As for the fate of the thousands of children the Trump administration does not want to reunite with their parents, Progressive Secular Humanist previously reported that many of the migrant children ruthlessly separated from their family by the Trump administration are being shipped to Bethany Christian Services, a Christian adoption agency with ties to the family of Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.

Rewire News reported last year that the agency was handling migrant children who suffered separation from their families under President Trump’s “zero-tolerance” immigration policy.

Quote:

The way we and I mean my Native American ancestors got guns was through trade. We gave you something that you wanted and guns were given back to us. We knew what they could do and for hunting they were better than a bow and arrow. Same thing with flour and sugar were also trade goods, white man foods. Not so good for us even now.

Columbus had 3 ships with him, and even if the tribes in Central or South America killed the crews of two. One could have gotten away and reported to Spain and word would have spread anyways about gold. More ships would have come.

Even if we killed every Englishman or in Canada the French as well. They would have kept coming. True no reports would have reached back to France or England but the oppression there would not have stopped. And people would have tried anyway to get away from it. It would not have stopped you, meaning Europeans from coming here.

Brenda,

A very rational and personal perspective that none here could ever hope to match, evidenced by "no response" from anyone (up until now). I hope that you understood where I was coming from in my comments about the Europeans first coming to this country. I was offering up an analogy, a fairy tale of sorts.
What would America be like without the thieving, and murderous, Europeans that
followed those early settlers.

And what makes it even more ironic, is how Trump describes the "hordes" coming from south of the border; those blood-thirsty savages and animals that mean to destroy our culture and way of life. It boggles the mind how accurate he
describes it - but in terms of the relentless take over of this land from those who lived there for thousands of years undisturbed. A case that's been
repeated around the globe in various locations where the native people were
friendly and unassuming.

Guam, Hawaii, the Philippines, Puerto Rico....are we sensing a pattern here?
I was commenting on much more than immigration. I was commenting on colonization, on persecution, on history repeating itself. This country was
built on that lie - that the white settlers, these immigrants, were good for the country. That their culture, their mode of living was far superior to that of the natives.

In Puerto Rico, the natives lived happy and free. They shared everything, the Cacique (chief) saw to that. The men would hunt and the women would gather. Each member of the village was important to the well being of the whole. The
Spanish came to conquer and, once gold and other rarities were discovered,
they enslaved the natives and they raped the land. The natives fought back, but the Spanish overwhelmed them and they were slowly killed off through disease and violence. It's still happening today. The island has been devastated and the U.S.A. has turned their back, having "raped" the land and
pointing a finger at the island assigning blame.

Perhaps I was none too clear in my comments. Perhaps Siggy needs to realize something - this world was always expanding throughout history, and will continue to do so. She, as usual, mischaracterizes my contributions and "cherry picks" statements to obscure the true meaning of my comments. In all the years I have been on this earth, and especially in this country, I've been
told that immigration is a good thing. That it has made this country great.
But great for whom?

You'd have to explain exactly what part of a Honda you're referring to first. Otherwise you're just saying "automobile", which was already invented in Germany 77 years before Hondas first rolled off the assembly line.

It's better than an answer to a stupid question. I skipped your idiotic stall tactic and went over the top and body slammed your thesis - game set match. Did white dudes come up with Mathematics? No?? I thought you said nothing of consequence was done by anyone but White People of European origins? Of course that's a stupid thought, and yet you keep defending it because being a dick gets you attention. Nice life goals.

The Joss Whedon script for Serenity, where Wash lives, is Serenity-190pages.pdf at https://www.mediafire.com/folder/1uwh75oa407q8/Firefly

He didn’t read intelligence reports and mixed up classified material with what he had seen in newspaper clips. He seemed confused about the structure and purpose of organizations and became overwhelmed when meetings covered multiple subjects. He blamed immigrants for nearly every societal problem and uttered racist sentiments with shocking callousness.

This isn’t how President Trump is depicted in a new book -- The Threat: How the FBI Protects America in the Age of Terror and Trump -- by former deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe. Instead, it’s McCabe’s account of what it was like to work for then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

The FBI was better off when "you all only hired Irishmen," Sessions said in one diatribe about the bureau's workforce. "They were drunks but they could be trusted. Not like all those new people with nose rings and tattoos - who knows what they're doing?"

It's a startling portrait that suggests that the Trump administration's reputation for baseness and dysfunction has, if anything, been understated and too narrowly attributed to the president.

"Fascistic" immigration policy continues to prevent child trafficking and child exploitation

Quote:

DNA tests reveal 30% of suspected fraudulent migrant families were unrelated

Some of the migrant families arrested at the southern border weren't actually families.

In a pilot program, approximately 30% of rapid DNA tests of immigrant adults who were suspected of arriving at the southern border with children who weren't theirs revealed the adults were not related to the children, an official involved in the system's temporary rollout who asked to be anonymous in order to speak freely told the Washington Examiner Friday.

"There’s been some concern about, 'Are they stepfathers or adopted fathers?'" the official said. "Those were not the case. In these cases, they are misrepresented as family members."

In some incidents where Immigration and Customs Enforcement told the adults they would have to take a cheek swab to verify a relationship with a minor, several admitted the child was not related and did not take the DNA test, which was designed by a U.S. company.

The pilot lasted a few days earlier this month and was used only in McAllen, Texas, and El Paso, Texas. ICE said the Department of Homeland Security would look at the results to determine if it will be part of its comprehensive solution to border issues. Homeland Security has not issued a public statement on its intentions going forward.

Donald Trump Admits He Doesn’t Really Want to Stop Illegal Immigration

E-Verify is a system that employers can use to make sure they hire only people who are legally allowed to work in the United States. It’s pretty easy to use and pretty accurate, though it could still stand to be improved on that score. So should it be made mandatory for all employers? President Trump says NO:

In an interview with Fox News Channel conducted last week, Trump said a new White House plan to overhaul portions of the legal immigration system could “possibly” include the use of E-Verify. But he also said that the verification system could be overly onerous on certain employers, such as farmers, who Trump said were “not equipped” to use it.

“I used it when I built the hotel down the road on Pennsylvania Avenue,” he said, referring to the Trump International Hotel in Washington. “I use a very strong E-Verify system. And we would go through 28 people — 29, 30 people — before we found one that qualified.”

He continued: “So it’s a very tough thing to ask a farmer to go through that. So in a certain way, I speak against myself, but you also have to have a world of some practicality.”

It makes any sense to say that farmers are “not equipped” to use E-Verify. All you need is a smartphone or a computer with an internet connection. It’s insulting to suggest that farmers aren’t up to this.

Needless to say, what Trump really means is that farmers would be seriously pissed off if he tried to make them hire only legal workers. E-Verify would do that. Unspoken, but obvious, is the corollary to this: Trump’s wall doesn’t piss off farmers because they know it won’t accomplish anything. It’s just something that sounds good to his base.

Trump runs "interference" while his cronies do their "dirty" behind the scenes. These Neo-Nazis have infiltrated the government establishment to line their pockets while exacting punishment on the real people of this country.

This latest disgusting, and illegal, act is tantamount to waterboarding. A truly vile and subhuman action disguising itself as a "patriotic" act.

You can expect a Tweet storm behind this, as well as, a continuation of discrediting the judge who ruled in favor of releasing his tax files.
More ingenious "interference."

These diabolic lies have become so much a part of the norm, so much a part of our lexicon, that we need to carefully watch what we say and what we believe
lest we fall prey to it's more subversive nature.

Much like a commercial, repetition is key.

So let us be ever mindful and alert to it's insidious infiltration.

Fuuuck! Did I just say all that bullshit? Ok, seriously this is crazy shit.
It is insidious and extremely dangerous. You see how easily some fall prey to it. Enough from me.

P.S. I'm talking about that "immigration policy" bullshit, to be clear.

Obama Admin Purged 12 Years Of ICE Speeches On Immigration Crisis Hours Before Trump Inauguration

Hours before President Trump took office, the Obama administration scrambled to purge 12 years worth of transcripts spanning hundreds of speeches from the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) website, according to the Daily Caller's Jason Hopkins.
An Internet Archive Wayback Machine capture of the “Speeches and Testimonies” page from late in the evening of January 19, 2017. (via the Sunlight Foundation)

A collection of 190 transcripts of speeches on ICE’s website was deleted on Jan. 18 and late in the evening on Jan. 19, 2017, according to research conducted by the Sunlight Foundation, a nonpartisan organization that advocates for government transparency. Statements made by high-ranking ICE officials regarding controversial immigration topics such as sanctuary cities, E-Verify, treatment of detainees, and other issues were included in the reported deletions. -Daily Caller

"With a couple of clicks of a mouse, access to a federal government web resource containing 12 years of primary source materials on ICE’s history was lost," wrote the Sunlight Foundation, adding that speeches dating back to 2004 were included in the purge.

The Caller notes that speeches from former acting ICE Director Thomas Homan were "prominently included in the deletion list," including a February 2016 speech in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee in which Homan discussed that "Unaccompanied Minor Crisis," which the Obama administration was grappling to manage at the southern border.

Another example cited by the Caller was a transcript from May 2016 in which Homan explained why sanctuary cities (and counties, and states) put "the public at risk," according to the report.

The Sunlight Foundation offered the following commentary to explain the purge:

"It is not inconceivable that an outgoing Democratic administration might want to avoid preserving these public stances for future scrutiny," adding "The removal of the ICE speeches collection represents the loss of a primary source history of the early days of ICE, dating back to its creation during the George W. Bush administration in 2003."

You are quoting the Daily Caller: https://dailycaller.com/2019/06/12/obama-administration-deleted-ice-sp
eeches
/

You can trace the missing ICE speeches to https://web.archive.org/web/20170118202526/https://www.ice.gov/speeche
s

Picking one speech at random: "CONCLUSION
ICE takes employee misconduct extremely seriously, and we are heavily invested in addressing these issues to ensure that ICE upholds the public trust and conducts its mission with integrity and professionalism. Thank you again for the opportunity to testify today, and I would now be pleased to answer any questions."
https://web.archive.org/web/20161221213953/https://www.ice.gov/doclib/
news/library/speeches/120801ragsdale.pdf

What a scandal! Somebody should read those speeches to discover more scandals.

Here is another scandal:"CONCLUSION
ICE is committed to promoting national security and has made significant progress in identifying and preventing terrorists from exploiting the visa process.
Thank you again for the opportunity to testify today and for your continued support of ICE and its law enforcement mission.
I would be pleased to answer any questions at this time."
https://web.archive.org/web/20161221101610/https://www.ice.gov/doclib/
news/library/speeches/120718woods.pdf

Maybe one more missing speech chosen at random will reveal the true nature of the scandal:"CONCLUSION
Thank you again for the opportunity to appear before you today to discuss our efforts to combat the money laundering threat to the United States and our response to the innovative techniques being used by TCOs.
I would be pleased to answer any questions."
https://web.archive.org/web/20161221111328/https://www.ice.gov/doclib/

All these ICE speeches also show in the Congressional record. The last one for example:
