Quote:

The ironical part, screeching tires notwithstanding, is that you didn't get
what I was getting at:

Namely that, we do care because it's been done to us. I remember watching a 60 minutes type broadcast when the Russians invaded Ukraine, with a real army and not the "fake" caravan invasion of 2018; and listening to a Ukraine soldier say to a Russian soldier "the Americans are with us."

huh? We "care" about Ukraine because OUR elections have been "interfered with? DOOD, your sequence is fucked up. "WE" went into Ukraine in 2014. OUR elections were "interfered with" in 2016.

It's impossible to have a discussion with people who can't even keep their years in sequence, and you, son, seem to be having a problem with that, Orientation X4 not quite working for you? The answer is NOT in the bottom of a bottle, son!

Quote:

I don't know why I'm explaining this. You seem to have some semblance of intelligence, you know what I'm talking about. But noooooo, you want to play that game. Yes, we do care.
Oh BALONEY!

If you really care about someone, do you kill them?

OF COURSE NOT!

Then why does our "caring" always seem to come with missiles and bombs attached?

Look, I "get" that you'd like to believe in our high ideals, and that you personally probably feel highly idealistic about "those poor people out there" but your idealism is being taken gross advantage of by people who simply count YOU as a reliable dupe.

Quote:

PutinBritain has interfered in our elections, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see this. And so, here we are.
Indeed. If you want to see WHO interfered with out elections ... and believe me, there are many on that list ... start with Britain and it's made-up "dossier" and sting operation against Trump, and then work your way thru the "donors" to the "Clinton Foundation" including Saudi Arabia and Ukraine.

Quote:

You believe as you do, and I believe as I do.
The world doesn't run on "belief". If our thoughts don't conform to reality, we run the risk of getting steamrolled by events that we didn't see coming.

You should inform your heartfelt idealism with reality once in a while to see if the results are matching your intentions.

Donald Trump has sent a total of 0 tweets on the caravan since the election, 45 before.

If the caravan was such a threat to the country in the middle of October -- so much so that Trump dispatched troops to the border to deal with the "threat" -- then how can they be less of a threat today? They're closer to the border today than they were three weeks ago, right? Right.

And yet, silence from Trump.

Trump Suspends Some Asylum Rights, Calling Illegal Immigration ‘a Crisis’
Nov. 9, 2018

WASHINGTON — President Trump proclaimed on Friday that the illegal entry of immigrants across the southern border of the United States was detrimental to the national interest, spurring tough changes that will deny asylum to all migrants who do not enter through official border crossings.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/09/us/politics/trump-asylum-seekers-ex
ecutive-order.html

I applaud Trump's action on this. Even CONSIDERING asylum for illegal border-crossers is simply rewarding illegal behavior. They request asylum, are given a court date and either detained (where we are responsible for food, shelter, and healthcare, treating illegal aliens better than we treat our own homeless people) or let loose in society, while 60% never show up at court.

This policy also makes it possible to immediately deport people who have illegally crossed the border because no asylum status will even be considered.

US hardens border at Tijuana to prepare for migrant caravan
IXTLAN DEL RIO, Mexico (AP) — The U.S. government said it was starting work Tuesday to “harden” the border crossing from Tijuana, Mexico, to prepare for the arrival of a migrant caravan leapfrogging its way across western Mexico.

Customs and Border Protection announced it was closing four lanes at the busy San Ysidro and Otay Mesa ports of entry in San Diego, California.

It said the closures were needed “to install and pre-position port hardening infrastructure equipment in preparation for the migrant caravan and the potential safety and security risk that it could cause.”

Migrants from caravan begin climbing border fence in Tijuana
The first wave of migrants from the Central American caravan began climbing border fences on Tuesday after arriving at the U.S. border.

Many on the Mexican side of the border climbed the fence and sat or walked on top of it, while others jumped and crawled through openings in the fence, only to run back to the Mexico side when U.S. Border Patrol agents approached, Fox 5 San Diego reported...“As we have said repeatedly, being a member of a caravan doesn’t give you any special rights to enter the country,” Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman Katie Waldman said in a statement to the Washington Examiner. “If they arrive at a Port of Entry, they will have to wait in line in keeping with the lawful processes at our ports of entry. If they attempt to enter illegally, they will have violated U.S. criminal law and in accordance with the President’s proclamation and the Interim Final Rule they would be ineligible for asylum.”

So.... About this "Caravan"

Mexico has an update for ya'all

https://dailycaller.com/2018/11/16/tijuana-mayor-migrant-caravan-horde/

Quote:

Tijuana Mayor Juan Manuel Gastelum said Thursday that caravan migrants arriving by the hundreds are no longer welcome, an increasingly common sentiment among residents of the Mexican border city.

Gastelum described the caravan of Central American migrants as a “horde” that has been infiltrated by criminals who now threaten the community, in an interview with Milenio Television.

“Tijuana is a city of immigrants, but we don’t want them in this way,” the mayor, a member of the conservative National Action Party, said. “It was different with the Haitians, they carried papers, they were in order. It wasn’t a horde, pardon the expression.”

Gastelum called on the Mexican government to deport the caravan migrants as soon as possible.

“You’re going to tell me we have to respect human rights,” he said. “But human rights are for law-abiding humans.”

The mayor’s comments reflected anger among many Tijuana residents at the increasing number of caravan migrants who have been streaming into the city since last weekend. About 3,000 were there as of Thursday night, and thousands more are expected to arrive over the coming weeks.

From what I read, we only process about 90 of them a day.

This small amount coupled with Trump's order to bar any asylum seekers future consideration after being arrested entering illegally is a wonderful strategy, although I can't blame Tijuana for not appreciating having to deal with the problem until we get around to it.

Mexico will likely do a better job keeping them from entering their own country illegally in the first place if we make it their problem as well.

Protesters march against migrant caravan in Tijuana; Police respond with riot gear

TIJUANA, Mexico — Hundreds of Tijuana residents, opposed to what they described as the "chaos" of the Central American migrant caravan, gathered at a prominent roundabout in Tijuana Sunday morning, before marching to a large, temporary shelter, which now holds about 2,400 migrants.

They chanted “Mexico! Mexico!” and “yes to migrants, no to invaders!” They sang the national anthem and waved Mexican flags and banners and signs, with messages urging the migrants to go home and urging the government to take action.

Some protesters said Mexico doesn’t have the resources to care for its own people, let alone migrants from Central America. They pointed to communities affected by a recent hurricane that hit Sinaloa and Nayarit, which caused flooding and other damage, as well as the homicide rate in Tijuana, which has reached an all-time high.

“Our country doesn’t have the resources to sustain itself,” said Tijuana resident Guadalupe Barrera. She held a sign that read in Spanish “no more caravans.”

Barrera said the protesters are not racist

Wait. somebody had the gall to insinuate that Mexicans .... who are also Spanish-speaking "borwn people" ... might be "racist" against other Spanish-speaking brown people??
Quote:

but they oppose how the migrants entered the county.

“This is not racism,” she said. “We are opposed to the invasion.”

She also said she’s concerned that the presence of the caravan would cause the U.S. to close the border, jeopardizing people who live by the Mexican border and depend on the U.S. economy.

Some said the Mexican government should follow President Donald Trump in enacting stricter border policies. They said the government should secure the southern border with Guatemala and require all immigrants to enter legally.

Of course they did. We're talking about Lefty extremists here that will throw anybody under the bus that doesn't conform to their world view. Which is globalism.

Mexicans, specifically Tijuana residents, are not the good guys right now because rather than welcoming thousands of illegals with open arms and continuing to let them pile up along the border until we let them all in or they crash it down, they are deciding enough is enough and they are not welcome there anymore.

Does illegal immigration cost the United States more than $100 billion a year?

WHO SAID IT: Paul Gosar, Representative, Arizona's 4th Congressional District.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Gosar#Elections

PARTY: Republican.

THE COMMENT: "The cost for illegal immigration is over $100 billion in a yearly application."

www.azcentral.com/story/news/politics/fact-check/2018/06/26/paul-gosar
-how-much-do-undocumented-immigrants-cost-economy/691997002
/

If Republicans say these things, you would think they would increase Federal spending enough to correct the problem with an increase of 11 million deportations, even if the additional cost of the solution is almost $100 billion per year. But you would be wrong.

On a related problem about illegal aliens: Trump's Wall is estimated to cost $21.6 billion. If you think Republicans are willing to pay for the Wall to keep out illegal aliens, you would be wrong.

Both my dad AND my husband's family (including hubby) waited outside of the USA for as long as it took to get an immigration visa from the USA, and they were all TRUE refugees ... fleeing WWII in my dad's case and the crushing of the Hungarian Uprising (1956) in my husband's case.

Many LEGAL immigrants resent illegal immigrants because illegals are line-jumpers. Most of the anti-illegal pro-Trump comments that I heard that were by LEGAL IMMIGRANTS ... who emigrated from Japan, Taiwan, Burma, China, Hungary, Mexico, Armenia etc.

If you got your head out of our ass once in a while you would have already picked up on this concept because I've only mentioned it, like, a dozen times already.

Signym, resentment, you say, at line jumpers, you say. I have thrown line jumpers out of lines. When they jump back in again, I have thrown them out again. They got angry. Then I scared the hell of them. This was me placing my hands on them. And I got away with it. Security threw the line jumpers out of the building, I did not get thrown out. The point is that if there are rules, there is enforcement. The rules do not enforce themselves. The rule breakers aren't enforcing them. If the GOP wants the rule breaking illegal aliens out of America, the GOP needs to pay to throw them out. But the GOP will NOT pay to enforce the rules and thrown all 11 million out. The GOP is crazy if they expect most illegal aliens to deport themselves. And all the silent resentment from millions of very legal immigrants has less effect than one man, me, placing my hands on somebody who loudly protests I have violated their rights. They shut up when I picked them off the ground like they are small children. Whether they like it or not, they moved out of the way. The GOP needs to hire a few hundred thousands big mean guys like me or Jayne and move people out of the way, into Courtrooms, then onto airplanes leaving the country. If the GOP won't do that because they are cheapskates, the GOP needs to shut up about illegal aliens. If the GOP won't pay to deport all 11 million illegal aliens then it won't happen, no matter how resentful your Trump voting relatives are about those aliens.

If Trump deports 500,000 illegal aliens per month, he will be finished before Election Day 2020. The Republican voters will gratefully return Trump to the White House. Obviously, the Democratic voters will not be grateful for all of Trump's hard work to enforce the decades old laws allowing him to deport the aliens. Maybe the Independent voters will reelect Trump as his reward for all his labor and planning to remove illegal aliens. I'm joking, I expect Trump to plan nothing, to do nothing but run his mouth.

Walling off the border will help prevent immigrants from taking American workers’ jobs and lowering their wages, anti-immigration advocates argue. But research shows that economic losses are greater when those workers are kept out.

Researchers at Stanford University and Dartmouth College just released a detailed analysis of the return on investment of border barriers. The calculated benefits, published by the National Bureau of Economic Research: Low-skill workers earn one dollar in extra income for every 19 dollars the government spends on walling off Mexico.

Their findings are based on an analysis of the effects of the Secure Fence Act of 2006, which provided funding to erect 548 miles of border barriers between 2007 and 2010 at a cost of $2.3 billion or $7 per person in the US. The fencing had the intended effect of curbing immigration, but barely improved salaries for low-skill workers. The economists calculate it reduced the number of Mexican workers in the US by 82,647; incomes for the low-skill workers on the American side inched up by 36 cents a year, not per hour.

“This paltry effect turns out to be the largest positive benefit of the Secure Fence Act, as all other groups of workers were harmed,” they write. (For example, the effects of the barriers shaved $4.35 off high-skill workers’ per capita income.)

Overall, reducing Mexican workers cost the US economy $2.5 billion — or $30,000 per missing Mexican worker. Mexico, meanwhile, saw a $1.2 billion GDP thanks to the workers it gained.

Trump's Wall is estimated to cost $21.6 billion. If you think Republicans are willing to pay for the Wall to keep out illegal aliens, you would be wrong.

Did the authors go out of their way to do a Stupid Study?

So they looked at a case where abut 550 miles of border were fenced. Say, did you know that the US/Mexican border is 3000 miles long? It seems to me that an incomplete fence would keep out SOME people, but mostly what it would do is force people to take a different route. The basis for their calculation is already flawed.

And then the way they present the results is ... shall we say "biased"?

Quote:

The economists calculate it reduced the number of Mexican workers in the US by 82,647
The total number of illegal entrants thru Mexico was estimated at one-half MILLION in 2016. The reduction that they calculate is trivial compared to the total amount, so unless the fence is completed it's impossible to estimate its overall effect.

Quote:

incomes for the low-skill workers on the American side inched up by 36 cents a year.
So, HOW MANY "low income" workers were affected? 30 million? Because 30 million times roughly 1/3 dollar is a $10-million per year benefit.

Quote:

the barriers shaved $4.35 off high-skill workers’ per capita income.
HOW MANY "high-skilled" workers were affected? Because 1 million times $4.35 is a $4.3 million-dollar per year cost.

Also, notice that while their "cost" is a one-time payment for capital outlays, the benefit (if there is one) accumulated year-after-year, but as far as I can tell they only calculated one year's-worth of benefits for comparison.

Quote:

Overall, reducing Mexican workers cost the US economy $2.5 billion ...
WHO did it cost? Wages? Profits?

They really make a number of very poor apples-to-oranges comparisons, comparing wage gains/losses to "economic" losses; one-time costs to ongoing costs; and incomplete and probably ineffective) border walls to complete border walls.

Anyway I could pick more apart, but I noticed that liberaloids don't seem to mind making direct transfer payments to "help" people suffering as a result of job loss, but seem incapable of processing the thought that maybe spending some money on protecting jobs is a better expenditure than charity. Signym, there is more than enough GOP created “justification” that building Trump’s Wall will pay for itself. For example, the Republicans have Paul Gosar, Representative, Arizona's 4th Congressional District.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Gosar#Elections

Gosar claims the cost for illegal immigration is over $100 billion per year.

www.azcentral.com/story/news/politics/fact-check/2018/06/26/paul-gosar

Signym, what do you think the chances of the GOP controlled government of Texas building the Texas section of Trump’s Wall? I think the chance is zero. Texas Governor Greg Abbott will not do it. Neither would semi-famous Governor Rick Perry or infamous Republican Governor George Bush.

The Republican controlled states don’t want to pay for Trump’s brainchild, the Wall. They want California and New York, Democrat controlled states, to pay through the Federal Government.

I’m sure almost none of the Democratic Congress will vote to pay for that Wall. They are missing out on a business opportunity! But the Republican controlled states can pay, assuming their Congressmen and Governors are being truthful about the cost of illegal aliens.

The GOP throws around these figures of illegal immigration is costing $100 billion per year. When it will only cost $23 billion for Trump’s Wall, only a fool would not pay that $23 billion. The ROI is at least 400% per year. That is the greatest business deal in history for Republicans! Yet none are jumping on the opportunity.

Signym, I know a way for Trump-voters to get their Trump Wall! If the GOP governors won't fund the Wall, and Democrats in Congress won't vote for Trump's Wall, there is always a GoFundMe campaign. Take $23 billion cost for the Wall and divide it by the number of Americans that approve of Trump, say 150 million. That is not much money Trump will need for his wall, when you look at it per Trump lover. Because the Democrats are still getting the benefit of the Wall without paying, the ROI will only be 200% for Trump-voters, rather than the 400% when the Federal government pays, but the Wall is still a good business deal, assuming the GOP is not lying about the value of keeping illegal aliens out of the country.

Only two days ago Trump tweeted:
Quote:

@realDonaldTrump
Dems must approve Border Security & Wall NOW!
11:55 AM - 18 Nov 2018

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1064245710747590657

I have doubts the Democrats in Congress trust or believe Trump or his promises. Maybe the more than hundred million Trump lovers will GoFundMe the Trump Wall when the hundreds of Democrats in Congress will not. GoFundMe Success Stories: www.gofundme.com/success-stories

Trump Says He Closed Mexican Border and Authorized Lethal Force

President Donald Trump said Thursday that he’s signed an order to close the U.S. border with Mexico, adding that he’s authorized troops to use lethal force against migrants who attempt to enter the U.S.

“If they have to,” Trump told reporters at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, claiming without evidence that at least 500 criminals are among migrants trying to enter the U.S. “So I’m not going to let the military be taken advantage of. I have no choice. Do I want that to happen? Absolutely not. But you’re dealing with rough people.”

He also said that he would welcome a partial shutdown of the government over “border security.”

Trump said he had signed the order two days ago and that “I’ve already shutdown parts of the border.” He warned that the entire border may be closed if conflict with migrants escalates.

“If we find that its uncontrollable,” he said, “if we find that it gets to a level where we are going to lose control or people are going to start getting hurt, we will close entry into the country for a period of time until we can get it under control.”

“The whole border,” he continued. “I mean the whole border. And Mexico will not be able to sell their cars into the United States where they make so many cars at great benefit to them, not at great benefit to us.”

The White House hasn’t released the order and Trump wasn’t clear about his directive. The White House didn’t immediately respond to questions about Trump’s comments.

Before the midterm elections in which Republicans lost control of the House, Trump ordered the military to reinforce the southern border, repeatedly warning voters about a so-called “caravan” of migrants making its way from Central America to the U.S. His critics called the deployment a political stunt.

Next week, Congress returns for its post-election “lame duck” session in which a top priority will be to authorize full fiscal 2019 spending plans for several agencies, including the Department of Homeland Security, the Internal Revenue Service and the National Park Service. Temporary funding for the agencies expires Dec. 7. Congress already approved full-year spending for most of the U.S. government, meaning any shutdown would be limited.

Trump has repeatedly threatened to veto spending bills if Congress continues to refuse to fund the wall, and with Democrats poised to take over the House in January, the president could force the issue in the lame-duck session.

Honduran Migrant: 20,000 Plan to ‘March’ Across Border
By Charlotte Cuthbertson
November 24, 2018 Updated: November 24, 2018

TIJUANA, Mexico—Honduran Marco Gómez, 26, arrived in Tijuana on the evening of Nov. 22, and slept under a bridge just yards from the El Chaparral pedestrian entrance to the United States.

He was with a larger group of migrants who said they wanted to send a message to President Donald Trump “to open the gates.”

Gómez said the plan is to wait until an expected 20,000 migrants arrive in Tijuana and then enter the United States en masse.

“We’ll stay together and be strong, and then move on to the U.S.,” he said. “Peacefully, like people going from one country to another. Marching.”

He said they plan to enter through the vehicle lanes at San Ysidro, because “it’s more spacious.”

Gómez, who said he was a construction worker in Honduras, said he is not sure if he will apply for asylum.

“It’s a waste of time. It’s a process that takes months and years—it’s a long time.”
Marco Gómez (L) and several other Honduran migrants slept under a bridge across the road from the Chaparral port of entry to the United States in Tijuana, Mexico, on Nov. 23, 2018. (Charlotte Cuthbertson/The Epoch Times)

Another Honduran migrant that also camped near the border entry said his mother and his sister already made it to the United States several months ago and he plans to join them.

Frank Martinez who is traveling with his father, said they will cross illegally.

“I personally, and I know many people will attempt to do the same thing—it’s to cross illegally. I will enter illegally,” he said.

“Because we want a better life, and I’m in a hurry.”

He said Mexico has offered him asylum, but he won’t take it.

“It’s not my intention, to stay here, in this country. My intention is the United States.”
Honduran migrant Frank Martinez stands near the Chaparral port of entry to the United States in Tijuana, Mexico, on Nov. 23, 2018. (Charlotte Cuthbertson/The Epoch Times)

New plans are being made by the migrants continuously, and it’s difficult to get clear information.

However, in a video published on the Pueblo Sin Fronteras Facebook page—an open-borders group helping organize the migrants—a group of migrants at the sports complex in Tijuana can be heard saying they plan to try crossing en masse into the United States on Sunday, Nov. 25.

“The best day to go to the bridge—peacefully, not with violence—is on Sunday. And write banners with our points,” one leader is heard saying. “And we don’t want the media to publish this before we do it.”

The crowd can be heard cheering loudly when they are told that they can still apply for asylum if they cross illegally into the United States.

On Nov. 19, a federal judge overturned a presidential proclamation from Nov. 9, that said no illegal border crossers will be eligible for general asylum (other types of asylum would still be available, but require a higher burden of proof).

“We have two ways to seek political asylum in the United States—entering illegally or entering through the gate. But we need to go all, all of us,” a leader says in the video. “We do understand how we want to cross—illegally.”

The leaders stressed they wanted to enter peacefully.

Pedophile Democrats aren't going to pay exorbitant money for anything else.
And now this creates a shortage of children for pedophile Democrats to buy for cheap. Wasn't that the whole purpose of Democrats arranging and funding this child smuggling and invasion caravan?

NOT AN "INVASION"?

Well, I guess they did try to rush the border after all...

Quote:

U.S.-Mexico border crossing closed after migrant protest halted in Tijuana
Lizbeth Diaz

TIJUANA, Mexico (Reuters) - The United States closed its busiest border crossing with Mexico on Sunday after Mexican police broke up a protest of Central American migrants massed in Tijuana, scattering some demonstrators toward the border where U.S. officers hurled gas canisters from the American side.

Traffic in both directions was suspended at the San Ysidro port of entry between San Diego and Tijuana, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency said on Twitter.

U.S. President Donald Trump has raised alarms about a caravan of Central American migrants as it approached the United States, with its members planning to apply for asylum on reaching the United States.

Tensions on the border had been rising in recent days, with thousands of migrants camped out in a sports stadium in Tijuana and hundreds periodically gathering near the main border crossing. The migrants have said they would wait there until they could request asylum, despite growing U.S. measures to tighten the border.

On Sunday, hundreds of caravan members, including women and children

Maybe a few here and there, but mostly young men so please, Reuters, stop spinning the story
Quote:

were peacefully protesting when they were stopped by Mexican authorities, who told them to wait for permission.

As the morning wore on, and it became clear they would not get permission, people started to express frustration.

A small group broke off and headed a few hundred feet (meters) away to a part of a canal between Tijuana and San Diego that led to the border fence.

At that point, before the group had reached the border, U.S. Customs and Border Protest officers who had gathered on the other side of the fence launched canisters of what a Reuters reporter said felt and smelled like pepper.

Protesters were caught between the Mexican and U.S. authorities. A young woman fell to the ground unconscious, and two babies cried, tears streaming from the gas.

After running to relative safety a few hundred feet away, hundreds of the caravan members held a sit-in.

Later, immigrants again approached the border in groups and were met by a further volley of canisters emitting large clouds of gas.

Trump has deployed military forces to the border to support the Border Patrol and threatened on Saturday to close the entire southern border. But Sunday’s action affected only the San Ysidro crossing, the busiest port of entry between the United States and Mexico.

OBVIOUSLY they want to focus on the most sympathetic characters in the caravan because they want these people here in the USA. So they interview the queer and transgendered and the women who're escaping domestic violence (which BTW does not qualify for asylum).

The M$M isn't about to break the narrative that they're trying to establish ("The poor poor migrant!!") by interviewing any of the many strapping young men who're planning to rush the border or cross illegally as soon as they get the chance, because that's not part of the propaganda that they're trying to push.

That's why I posted some on-the-ground tweets that you will never see from the M$M: To give you a more realistic view of events and people.

The picture which features the two women and children in the foreground was from Reuters, and posted the same day as the videos which show MEN storming the wall, from Epoch Times. Also, I listened to NPR's take on the topic on the same day, which consistently misrepresented the makeup of the caravan, and soft-pedaled the lawbreaking intent of some of the migrants.

One of the things I can reliably get from NPR that I can't get from many other outlets is the spin that the ultra-liberal media wants to put on things. I get a lot of data from doing a "compare and contrast" with other outlets like ZH, WSJ, RT etc. It shows me which way each outlet wants to spin things.

So there.

So thanks for validating what I said, SIGHOLE. You made sh*t up as per usual. NPR is not "the M$M" and your saying M$M was trying to distort the narrative is as faulty (lying) as saying they are bought and paid for. CNN actually suggested those images of women and children might have been staged. Face it, you were caught lying again. It's a wonder if you ever post the truth.

So tell us, how low does your IQ need to go before you can watch CNN?

But Reuters isn't "The M$M..." it's only a very small part. You insinuated The M$M. So, you were either lazy or misleading - I'm pretty sure I know which.

Not the illegal's fault. It's our own government for not enforcing the laws we already have.

Both parties are to blame for that. Waiting to see if Trump is going to change that or if he's just full of shit like the rest of them.

Yes - could be anyone, but you was who I was thinking about.

And this is just the kind of short thinking so many consumers make: "...those jobs would have paid a lot more if people weren't able to get away with paying illegals under the table at below minimum wage, which in turn stifles wages for better jobs at the same time."

That's exactly what I'm saying! Think it through - if those employers have to pay more, honest wages then they'll have to make up for that.... where? In the cost of goods and services. Eureka. It's all connected. Pay fair wages and everyone pays more for milk and cable, you move one thing up and it moves other things up at the same time. So which do you want on your salary? I'll take fair wages every day. Consumers tend to leave themselves out of the equation.

6ix:
Some people have a distorted and incomplete view of economics, Budgeting, funding.
They don't understand that Government is overhead, the ginormous parasite which is larger than the host organism.
Switching from non-tax paying to Taxpaying jobs will help pay for the Government. If there are 30 Million Illegal Aliens, consider how much uncollected Revenue that represents, and how that would change the status of Surplus/Deficit in the Budget each month.
The more that that expense is spread out, the LESS everybody pays. The Rate-of-Pay factor is not as impactful as the changing direction of fund flow from Mexico to IRS. The Taxation rate is more than 50% while transforming what an employer pays for work into what an employee is left with from that pay. You are not talking about doubling the Rate-of-Pay for the most menial of jobs, right?

As a wise man pointed out, a percentage of something is something, and a percent of nothing is ... Lemme see, multiply nothing, carry the nothing, add to the nothing....

Lazy or misleading?

He could at least post the script, no matter how boring and unentertaining the show is. These shows that nobody watches should have the easiest scripts to ferret out.

Even higher rated Shows like Food Network should have scripts available, and THOSE shows are sometimes unscripted.
