Trump didn't have any business in Russia. Cohen couldn't even get through the front door to talk to anybody to create any business in Russia. Furthermore, Trump had no interactions with representatives of Russia. (While the article is squishy about it, when it says "representatives of Russia" presumably it means official representatives of the Russian state.)

2013 Trump owned Miss Universe in Russia

Trump Jr flapping his gums: "2008: Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., told investors in Moscow that the Trump Organization had trademarked the Donald Trump name in Russia and planned to build housing and hotels in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sochi, and sell licenses to other developers, the Russian daily Kommersant reported. “Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets,” Trump Jr. said at the time. “We see a lot of money pouring in from Russia."

We all should have learned by now that Trump is a compulsive liar. If anything, we all should have learned that the opposite of what he says is usually the truth.

"trademarked the Donald Trump name in Russia"

Let me point out that a trademark isn't a business. ALSO - the more I read about the various goings-on, the more it becomes evident that nearly all of claims made by pretty much everybody are just so much gum-flapping by people who are pretending things exist that don't. People pretend to have an 'in' with Putin, Trump Jr pretends to have viable business opportunities in Russia. And so on.

And as I suspected from my first reading re the 'Trump Tower' meeting many months ago, everybody was trying to scam the campaign.

Trump Jr was never in direct contact with Emin Agalarov who's father supposedly had dirt on Hillary. "Trump Jr. responded: Thanks Rob I appreciate that. I am on the road at the moment but perhaps I just speak to Emin first. Seems we have some time and if it’s what you say I love it especially later in the summer. Could we do a call first thing next week when I am back?" It looks like Trump Jr was trying to do due diligence on a random contact that came his way, and was being open ENOUGH to finally get to see the goods. ... Which as we know was nothing about dirt on Hillary.

Felix Sate was scamming Cohen about his contacts within Russia (with zero results) to the point that Cohen had to send an email to a general public address he got off the internet - but he never got a reply.

And so on.

There were never any contacts made, never any agreements, never any potential for either quid pro quo or extortion in any of these non-events. Really, how can you be extorted over nothing?

Trump was never able to successfully conclude any real estate deals in Russia.

I don't need to go any further to know that TRUMP HAD NO BUSINESS IN RUSSIA.

No matter how much you're trying to sell that scam.

Goddamn, Kiki - use your head. Sorry - Trump's kid? Maybe you didn't read that or just choose to recklessly ignore it? You use ignorance as a shield.

Miss Universe - oops! Business in Russia. Not to mention the deals he did in the US with Russians. He's the great deal maker, remember? And what makes you think EVERY deal he's ever done is public? On his taxes though... he's such a chiseler he would risk getting a tax break for a Russian business deal and just hope he could hide it forever.

It shows his desire to work deals in Russia over the course of DECADES - do you see that? No quid pro quo? So he's banging on Russia's door trying to get in. You don't think a deal could be worked to accommodate that? You know nothing of how deals get done.

Had a meeting with a lawyer who had no information or connection to offer the campaign. In fact, Trump Jr got a bait-and switch. He got scammed.

Miss Universe - oops! Business in Russia.
Trump was paid a $20M one-time fee in 2013 for hosting the pageant. Meanwhile, Bill Clinton got a $500,000 one-time speaking fee for speaking in Russia. If Clinton's one time fee wasn't a 'business' - as in, an ongoing profit-making financial organization - neither was Trump's.
Quote:

Not to mention the deals he did in the US with Russians.
'Deals'. With 'Russians'. 'In the US'. Are you too ignorant to understand that those 'deals' - in the US, not Russia - with 'Russians' - don't constitute business in Russia? I guess you are.

Even SECOND-RATE's article admits that when Trump said he had no business in Russia he was speaking the truth. It did say that 'technically' it was the truth. But then, the truth is the truth, 'technically' or not.
Quote:

It shows his desire to work deals in Russia
Your claim is the Trump had business in Russia.
In Russia - in the US - with 'Russians' - with Putin - it's just all one big pile of mashed potatoes in your head, isn't it?

Trump had a one-time fee for a one-time event. Nothing else.

Nope. No quid pro quo.

So he's banging on Russia's door trying to get in.
It looks more like peripheral people were banging on Trump's door, trying to get in. Butina. Veselnitskaya. Agalarov. Sate. And others.

But how is Trump responsible for their actions?

Maybe that was too difficult a question for you. So let me get down to specifics. Of all the Russians who approached anyone connected to Trump in any way, exactly none of them were what they represented themselves to be. Nobody had the connections, influence, or information they claimed. That's a remarkable statistic, don't you think? Every single contact with the Trump orbit was a scam.

www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2018/11/02/president-trump-has-made-fa
lse-or-misleading-claims-over-days

In the first nine months of his presidency, Trump made 1,318 false or misleading claims, an average of five a day. But in the seven weeks leading up the midterm elections, the president made 1,419 false or misleading claims — an average of 30 a day.

Combined with the rest of his presidency, that adds up to a total of 6,420 claims through Oct. 30, the 649th day of his term in office, according to The Fact Checker’s database that analyzes, categorizes and tracks every suspect statement uttered by the president. www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/politics/trump-claims-database/

The flood of presidential misinformation has picked up dramatically as the president has barnstormed across the country, holding rallies with his supporters. Each of those rallies usually yields 35 to 45 suspect claims. But the president often has tacked on interviews with local media (in which he repeats the same false statements) and gaggles with the White House press corps before and after his trips.

There are many curious moments suggesting the president is walled off from contradictory information.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Trump emphatically denied he had imposed many tariffs. “I mean, other than some tariffs on steel — which is actually small, what do we have? . . . Where do we have tariffs? We don’t have tariffs anywhere,” he insisted. The newspaper responded by printing a list of $305 billion tariffs on many types of U.S. imports.

Trump personally signed it.

It is letter of intent personally signed by Donald Trump to proceed with a lucrative Trump Tower Moscow project that would have provided his company with a $4 million upfront fee.

Trump himself signed the letter of intent, which is dated October 28, 2015 — five months after Trump launched his presidential campaign, and during a period in which he was lavishing praise on Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Even though he personally signed a letter of intent for Trump Tower Moscow, Trump repeatedly claimed during his campaign that he had “nothing to do with Russia” and “I know nothing about Russia ... I don’t deal there.” Next, he will be saying I wasn't bribed by $4,000,000. It takes more to buy me.

Pro Trump people are not interested in facts, clearly.

I recall one of the first days of the reign of Lord Trump, when he ran out a bunch of stacks of (probably blank) 8x10 sheets of paper and other misc official looking papers during a press conference and said "here, see I'm completely divested!" And then he said his kids would take over the business while he was president (ie; pilfering the US treasury). And then in a moment of inspiration he looked at the crowd and said, "and if they don't do a good job I'll tell them, "You're Fired!" hahahahah..." Surreal.

I saw this:
Millions of Americans are blindly devoted to their Dear Leader Trump. What will it take for them to snap out of it?

On December 20, 1954, some 62 years before Donald Trump would be sworn in as president of the United States, Dorothy Martin and dozens of her followers crowded into her home in Chicago to await the apocalypse. The group believed that Martin, a housewife, had received a message from a planet named Clarion that the world would end in a great flood beginning at midnight, and that they, the faithful, would be rescued by an alien spacecraft.

Unbeknownst to the other “Seekers,” three of their group — Leon Festinger, Henry Riecken, and Stanley Schachter — were not there to be saved, but to observe. Psychologists from elite institutions, they had infiltrated the pseudo-cult to study Festinger’s recently elaborated theory of “cognitive dissonance.” The theory predicted that when people with strongly held beliefs were presented with contrary evidence, rather than change their minds they would seek comfort and “cognitive consonance” by convincing others to support their erroneous views.

Festinger’s prediction was right. When neither the apocalypse nor the UFO arrived, the group began proselytizing about how God had rewarded the Earth with salvation because of their vigil. His subsequent book, When Prophecy Fails, became a standard sociology reference for examining cognitive dissonance, religious prophecy, and cult-like behavior. What the three researchers probably never predicted, though, was that over half a century later Festinger’s theory would be applicable to roughly 25 percent of the population of the United States and one of its two major political parties. Nor could they have foreseen that the country’s salvation might well depend on its ability to deprogram the Trump cult’s acolytes.

Fresh evidence that Michael Cohen was in Prague after all

www.motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2018/12/mcclatchy-re-ups-claim-that-coh
en-was-in-prague-during-summer-2016
/

A mobile phone traced to President Donald Trump’s former lawyer and “fixer” Michael Cohen briefly sent signals ricocheting off cell towers in the Prague area in late summer 2016, at the height of the presidential campaign, leaving an electronic record to support claims that Cohen met secretly there with Russian officials, four people with knowledge of the matter say.

During the same period of late August or early September, electronic eavesdropping by an Eastern European intelligence agency picked up a conversation among Russians, one of whom remarked that Cohen was in Prague, two people familiar with the incident said.

There are two things that are interesting about this. First, if it’s true, it’s a huge shot-in-the-arm for the credibility of the entire Steele dossier, where this allegation originated. Second, it means that special counsel Robert Mueller knows about all this and decided to keep it closely held instead of using it in the charge sheet against Cohen.

But why would Mueller want to keep it secret? Well, the alleged purpose of Cohen’s trip to Prague was to visit with Russian intelligence folks in order to come up with a plan for making cash payments to the hackers who were working with Team Trump to take down Hillary Clinton. Even for Mitch McConnell, I assume this would be considered an impeachable offense, and it’s the kind of thing you’d really want to nail down solidly before you make it public. What’s more, I assume—again, if this is true—that Cohen turned over names and dates and Mueller might want some time to see if he can interview any of the people Cohen talked with. Who knows? Maybe one of them will take a flight that makes a refueling stop in Canada someday.

To get Trump impeached will take a lot more than "four people spoke with McClatchy on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of information shared by their foreign intelligence connections. Each obtained their information independently from foreign intelligence connections."

Republican Senators won't believe it until it is to their personal, political, & financial advantage to fire Trump from the Presidency. But Mueller will believe it and, if he is really as clever as he is claimed to be, Mueller will find a very legal way to make Trump miserable after he leaves the White House.

Poll: Majority want Trump to declassify documents from Russia investigations

A majority want President Trump to declassify documents pertaining to the Russia investigations, according to a new The Hill-HarrisX poll.

Fifty-nine percent of registered voters contacted for the survey said they want Trump to declassify the documents, with 14 percent saying they want the information kept secret and 27 percent not sure.

You "guess" wrong.

You are correct that there is "no evidence" Republicans will force Trump into a trial, but if Trump ever goes on trial in the Senate, Mueller has many witnesses ready to testify that Trump is a liar and a crook. More witnesses are being readied. The chief witness that Trump is an incompetent President is Trump. He has proven it many times. His incompetence might motivate Republicans in Congress to place Trump on trial. The way things are going at the White House, with the resignations because his staff think Trump is incompetent, there will certainly be more evidence between now and the election in 2020.

Now for the 3rd Calendar Year.

Too bad Trump doesn't Declassify the documents. He said he wanted to, but since Democraps are keen to keep hidden the evidence of so many of their crimes, they convinced him not to. So far.
