I recently came across an article in a local newspaper and it read like this:

The president’s exaggerations have been listed.

Dateline: June 15, 2017

Byline: Michael Martin, Metro.US

Quote:

President Donald Trump entered office with a portfolio of untruths as broad and questionable as his real estate holdings. Obama was born in Kenya: Trump “had people down there and you wouldn’t believe what they’re finding.”
He lost hundreds of friends on 9/11. He saw thousands of Muslims celebrating the collapse of the Twin Towers. Ted Cruz’s father helped assassinate JFK based upon a photo in the National Enquirer of him
“having breakfast with Lee Harvey Oswald.”

The pace of the untruths has only accelerated with the broader platform of the presidency. The non-partisan fact-checking site Politifact found that 70 percent of Trump’s statements have been untrue, and 25 percent are some degree of false. One newspaper, the Toronto Star, is compiling a database of the president’s false statements, sortable by topic, such as “terrorism” “the economy” and “Russian ties.”

“The extreme unprecedented quantity of Trump falsehoods is why we started fact-checking everything he said” says Daniel Dale, Washington bureau chief for the Toronto Star. “Some remain difficult to explain.”

The paper found that Trump has made an average of two false statements per day. Here are some of the highlights:

“In just a short period of time, we’ve already added nearly one million new jobs.”

In fact: U.S. government figures say the economy added…a total of 581,000 jobs in Trump’s first four months in office.

“Obamacare, as one of the big insurance companies had said, is in a spiral. It’s in a death spiral. It is dead.”

In fact: We allow Trump rhetorical license to call Obamacare “collapsing” and even “exploding” though experts say neither is true. But it is plainly false to say the law is “dead.” While its marketplaces have problems, they are still functioning and providing insurance to millions; so is it’s Medicaid expansion.

294

Trump has allegedly made 294 false statements as president

“I have just returned from a trip overseas where we concluded nearly $350 Billion of military and economic development for the United States, creating hundreds of thousands of jobs.”

In fact: The economic agreements Trump concluded on his nine-day trip to the Middle East and Europe will undoubtedly create some jobs, but there is no evidence that they might even possibly create hundreds of thousands. Most of the U.S. companies involved did not offer specific numbers; the “Washington Post” noted that “the only new jobs that have been announced will be in Saudi Arabia, where Lockheed Martin will employ 450 workers to manufacture Black Hawk helicopters.” Attempting to do the math, The New York Times could not figure out how the administration came up with its $350 billion figure.

“Those were Hillary votes. And if you look at it they all voted for Hillary. They didn’t vote for me. I don’t believe I got one. Ok, these are people that voted for Hillary Clinton.”

In fact: These large numbers of illegal voters did not “all” vote for Clinton because they do not exist.
Even if they did, it would be impossible for Trump to know that not a single one voted for him, since the ballot is secret. This claim is simply absurd.

That's past falsehoods. In the present Trump makes big, clear promises on health. Trump is betraying all his health care promises. It’s out in the open. And it’s a huge deal.

Pence speaking Tuesday offered reassurance that nothing has changed, promising only “historic flexibility to reform Medicaid in ways that will best serve the most vulnerable in their communities” and thanking the HHS staff for the “leading role in making the best health care system in the world even better.”

The only problem is that it’s all lies. Trump’s health care plan doesn’t protect Medicaid, it loots it to finance hundreds of billions of dollars in tax cuts. The new “flexibility” it gives to states will ensure that the most vulnerable are the most hurt. In addition to slashing the Medicaid rolls by millions, the Trump health care plan will see millions more lose coverage, and the remainder will face higher premiums for plans that cover less.

There’s nothing remotely terrific about it, unless you happen to be one of the small number of high-income Americans who can expect to reap a large tax cut paid for by the suffering of millions of newly uninsured people. It’s an enormous con perpetrated on people Trump duped into believing they were in on the scam.

Well, at least that list is about a tenth of Hilliary's list.

So-called "unbiased" fact checkers at PolitiFact exposed as nothing but paid stooges for the Democratic Party.

Funny how the Democrat rates a higher "truth rating" than the Republican for saying the same thing.

No, I'm talking to the numbnuts on the board, like you. Hope and change! Dem party affiliation hit a high on 2008 Nov 13-16 at 39%. Now it's 28%. Dems and leaners are now tied with repubs and leaners. As recently as 2012 it was 53/36.

The dem party is the zombie party, rotting away and leaving chunks behind as it shuffles and snuffles through the political landscape.

And here's the thing. I'm a registered democrat. This was the first presidential election I specifically voted against the democrat. Because that neo-con war-monger and corrupt corporatist whore Hillary was the ordained democrat candidate.

Talk about a brainless move.

That's you: "quick! Put people in boxes so I don't have to think too hard!" Come on, dude. You have all damn day to think things through. If you're smart enough to rehab a house you're smart enough for this stuff. Here's the first one:

1. Just because someone wants to vomit at the thought of Trump as president doesn't mean they're a liberal. This might break your brain, but it's actually easy to hate both parties AND hate Trump. Every time Kikinuts goes on a bezerker rant about Dems I wonder who the hell she's talking to. Maybe herself?

I don't build the boxes. They're already out there. Not my fault if you willingly crawled into one.

I have absolutely no idea. I haven't looked the subject over at all, I have done zero reading about it and I have never mentioned it here, so weird test though I'm not surprised. Let me guess: that makes me a Liberal!

No. That, if taken alone, would just make you normal. No determination could be made. I don't necessarily believe that you don't know what it is or that you don't have an opinion on it, but I'm not going to sift through threads to find it, so I'll take your word on it.

Here's an easier one...

What did you think about the Access Hollywood tapes, and their leaked release during the election cycle?

You're right, of course, that the tapes don't matter. They did not have the intended effect that the Left was hoping for. People are done believing the SJW bullshit. Tons of women voted for Trump over Hillary, even with the tape.

It does matter in our conversation now though, and I'm almost half tempted to go back and dig up your thoughts on the matter since you have nothing to say now. I picked a rhetorical question here that I already knew the answer to. You were VERY opinionated about the tape at the time of release.

No. I didn't believe that Hillary Clinton was banging kids in a pizza shop, although I did believe she had ties to people who were doing these things. I don't even go so far as to say that Hillary was even aware of these activities... just that she was associated with these people.

I still think that there was something going on at Comet Pizza, and it's a shame it never got investigated because there are kids that are being abused.

G, we need to stop bothering with this tool. Seriously. I know he's so clueless that we feel the need to argue with it to right the universe, but there is nothing anyone can do to fix his brain damage. He doesn't actually read any news and he can't think for himself. The guy who authored that tripe apologized for doing it and admitted there isn't even a basement in the restaurant...and he still thinks it's real. That takes an incredible level of delusion.

The Joss Whedon script for Serenity, where Wash lives, is Serenity-190pages.pdf at https://www.mediafire.com/folder/1uwh75oa407q8/Firefly

There is a belief in grand stories about history — all ideologies have some idea at the center that there is a grand purpose or struggle, and that everything has to be in service of that idea. Why are people persuaded by these stories? Why is modern life making them so attractive?

For Hannah Arendt, it was about the isolation of modern life, the emptiness of it all. What she understood — more than someone like George Orwell — is that you don’t need to be a totalitarian state to exhibit some characteristic features of totalitarianism. Her focus was on modern loneliness, the isolated individual who loses a kind of rootedness in the world and therefore is prime material for the takeover of ideology, for the total narrative that gives their life direction and meaning.

The big price we pay for mass loneliness is the loss of a shared reality. We're not idiots. We know a lie. But the problem is when people decide they don’t have to accept this reality. Then everyone begins to inhabit their own world, and that loss of a shared reality is what produces the loneliness, and that’s what makes the chaos of post-truth and willful lies so politically and existentially traumatic.

We’re dealing with this problem right now, this loss of a shared reality. We’re in this bizarre “post-truth” climate in which major and minor politicians lie with impunity, fake news and misinformation are pervasive, and much of the country is cocooned inside self-affirming information bubbles.

No, I'm talking to the numbnuts on the board, like you. Hope and change! Dem party affiliation hit a high on 2008 Nov 13-16 at 39%. Now it's 28%. Dems and leaners are now tied with repubs and leaners. As recently as 2012 it was 53/36.

http://www.gallup.com/poll/15370/party-affiliation.aspx

The dem party is the zombie party, rotting away and leaving chunks behind as it shuffles and snuffles through the political landscape.

And here's the thing. I'm a registered democrat. This was the first presidential election I specifically voted against the democrat. Because that neo-con war-monger and corrupt corporatist whore Hillary was the ordained democrat candidate.

Talk about a brainless move.

Do you truly feel that the decline in the Dems was due to reduction of followers in the past 9 years? Or do you think the decline is a result of former followers being shunned by the Dem machine since then, or since 2006? How much do you think it was one, or the other, or something else?

Republicans are aware of the facts, facts by definition don't need checking - only Libtard Facts need checking, because they are the opposite of facts.
Libtards try to check facts because they are allergic to facts and despise facts unless they themselves created the "fact" for dissemination.

Really, thank you for that rousing explanation of "Just the facts, ma'am," it was very illuminating.

By the way, What's a Libtard?.......just curious!

I've mentioned this around here before, but essentially a Libtard is one who can normally process thought adequately, with the massive exception of when facts conflict with their delusional Liberal beliefs - and then their capacity for rational and critical thought and reason, logic are squashed or thrown out the window.

What you will notice with the left, often, is that their "facts" always contradict each other, especially when it comes to identity politics.

Ask a feminist liberal or a LGBTQ supporter how they can be so supportive of Muslims and the religion of Islam when they do what they do to their women and homosexuals in their native countries.

They will not give you an answer. They will not even discuss the issue with you. 5 seconds later they will have completely removed the fact that they were confronted with this question because if they dwelled on it for any length of time the conflicting beliefs ingrained in their thoroughly washed brain would make their head explode.

I dunno... I heard Milo say it once on the Joe Rogan show and thought it was funny.

They were having a discussion about how most of the hot women in the US are Republicans and the ugly ones tend to be Democrats.

Nah... This was more in the context of voters.

Democrats have become the party for the people who feel depressed and worthless and want handouts and everything they do is based on "feels" instead of facts.

Generally speaking, beautiful women don't look at the world through the lens of victimization.

OK, more substantive discussion than I originally inferred.

Yeah... It makes sense to me, but I take it with a grain of salt. I don't think there is any scientific study on the matter, although the idea of what would happen if there was one is hilarious.

Could you imagine the outcry?
