UK police rush to three attacks in Central London, at least one dead

This is a breaking news story. Please check back frequently for updates.

Update:

LONDON, June 4 (Reuters) - British Prime Minister Theresa May said on Sunday that the incident in London was being treated as a potential act of terrorism.

"Following updates from police and security officials, I can confirm that the terrible incident in London is being treated as a potential act of terrorism," May said just over four days before voting is due to begin in a June 8 national election.

"This is a fast moving investigation," May said. "I want to express my huge gratitude to the police and emergency services who are on the scene. Our thoughts are with those who are caught up in these dreadful events." (Reporting by Guy Faulconbridge, Editing by Paul Sandle)

LONDON, June 3 (Reuters) - British armed police rushed to three incidents in central London on Saturday after a van plowed into pedestrians on London Bridge and reports of multiple stabbings in the nearby Borough Market area.

Police sent out security advice to Londoners on Twitter saying "run, hide, tell" if they were caught in an attack. The BBC cited police as saying there had been more than one fatality.

The attacks come days ahead of a June 8 election and less than two weeks after a suicide bomber killed 22 people at a pop concert by U.S. singer Ariana Grande in Manchester in northern England. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attacks.

"A van came from London Bridge itself, went between the traffic light system and rammed it towards the steps," a taxi driver told the BBC. "It knocked loads of people down.

"Then three men got out with long blades, 12 inches long and went randomly along Borough High Street stabbing people at random."

Prime Minister Theresa May had been informed and was being kept updated, her office said, while U.S. President Donald Trump had also been briefed by his national security team, the White House said.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it was not the work of ISIS-trained terrorists with highly-developed skills, but more the efforts of ISIS-wannabes.

That's certainly not comforting.

There will no doubt be a lot more of this in Europe. I hope that the new leadership in the UK comes down very hard on this. This is an opportunity to send out a very anti-Macron/Merkel message.

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

Dear daughter asked me why it happened, and I got kind of stuck trying to explain it.

Was it because Britain was a willing participant in the destruction of so many Middle East nations, creating so many refugees .... and so much anger?

Was it because Britain tried to ameliorate their brutal foreign policies by taking in so many refugees?

Was it because successive British governments were afraid to clamp down on hate-mongering mullahs, and break into "no go" zones for fear of looking "intolerant"? (Aside from bombing a lot of brown people, that is.)

Some/ all of the above?

At this point, I would hope that the government realizes that they need to go full-force against terrorists, terrorism, and any Muslim who thinks that sharia law need to be instituted in Britain.

They should revise their middle east policies, and stop participating in the attempted destruction of Syria, but if Muslims are so unhappy with the way things are done in Britain, maybe they should go back to where they came from.

The attackers were known, to the authorities. They were on a watch list.

The sobering fact is that there are 10's of 1000's of KNOWN persons on such watch list, be it in the UK, or here in the States....

The law enforcement forces are, in every sense of the word, - overwhelmed.

Ignoring social media postings by these people is the exact OPPOSITE of what needs to be done. I would suggest that any politician who suggests we not keep a closer eye on these persons is in fact acting on the behalf of the terrorists.

Yeah, the two of them seem a little out-of-the-loop on the problem of ISIS, with it globally and in their own back yards being such a serious threat.

It's beyond ironic when the dummies act even dumber to avoid confrontation.

It's called grammar, and yes, sometimes it does matter. I don't like being the grammar police so I go out of my way to try to figure things out before I reply. Read that again. It makes no sense.

There is a lot of blame to go around.

The individuals who have committed the murders. Their "mentors" or "teachers". The government of England, and the government of any country who is letting them in with open arms, paying them to live there on the taxpayer dime, and protecting their ideology of hate through punishing any who speak out against them of hate crimes.

They are doing it all wrong - arresting people? They are supposed to deny that it's a terrorist attack, and cuddle the terrorists, or Bobobots will be offended. France is just as bad. Can't they both import more terrorists, errr ummm terrorist refugees?

Color me uninformed, but when I heard London elected a Leftist + Muslim as its mayor, I guess it really didn't register with me how bad that could be. For them.

The man who wants Trump banned from the UK , for some reason, had no problem calling " moderate " Muslims UNCLE TOMS. Yep, that's right... the name affixed to those who are traders to their own race , this mayor calls moderates of his religion who want everyone to get along and live as they wish, side by side w/ the rest of London's infidels refers to them as betrayer's of their faith. That's the only way that can be taken, isn't it ?

So, Trump is a meanie because of a tweet or two where he says some impolite things, but this guy is to be praised because he's a neat, clean and articulate Muslim, who happens to freely associate with those who supported 9-11, and want to install a true Caliphate, ISIS style ?

I'll not say London deserved Islamic violence, but damn...

Yowza.
This makes me wonder about the relationship, jurisdiction of London and it's suburbs, the capitol area/zone, etc. I think I've heard the financial district has it's own perimeter, security, police, and laws - or maybe that was the past. I figure the parts of London owned by the Queen are not subject to the Mayor's fancy, and the Queen can be protected from the terrorist Mayor. What part is the Bridge in? Is this terrorist Mayor a plague to the entire area, or does only London proper need suffer?

And I thought Chicago had a long string of terrible Mayors.

That list of Muslim leaders that came out against the attacks should also have something to say about this man. NOW.

Included in the video is a compilation of every Islamic Terror attack in the EU since 2001.

They scroll through it pretty fast, but you can pause it at any time to read about them.
