Fucking typical response and one of the main reasons I "brought you in" to this.
Have the balls to call me a lefty, if that's what you want. And since everyone has to have a label, call me whatever..............

Because I don't give a FUCK!

NOT A WORD!

Kathy Griffin's little "joke" is child's play compared to that scumbag killing two innocent bystanders who were sticking up for two innocent women. Like most bullies, they pick on the innocent decent people and he was so brave and strong that he carried a knife. But do we hear anything regarding the despicable act - NO!

When Siggy, Rappy, Sixstring and others condemn THAT behavior, then MAYBE, just maybe I'll listen.

SGG

Not sure why I was brought into the events in Portland. The knifer / murderer seemed to support Bernie more than anyone, and hated Trump and Hillary. I think he snapped after Trump won ( if he was ever coherent - I kinda doubt it ) , and tried to troll the ' free speech ' movement, parroting them as he was mocking ...attacking damn near everything.

Kathy did far more than " make fun of " Trump. Even Al Franken, Ms Griffin's friend and colleague, condemned the act. EVERYONE did, save for a few true loony nut jobs on the Left. You one of them ?

Frankly, don't care.

Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen

Since I don't suffer from any White Guilt and have discussed the reasons why on other threads, I'm certainly not going to apologize for his behavior because he's an idiot who happens to be white.

He's just some crazy dude that deserves whatever he gets now, which should be a life in prison or the death penalty depending on the law there.

Why would it be my job to condemn his behavior?

I didn't say I don't give a fuck. It sucks. People get murdered every day. A lot of people. That sucks.

This murder is no more or less important than any of the other murders that happened on that day. The only reason that it got media attention was the same reason that you gave it more attention. It was used for political purposes.

Why do you feel the need for me to have to condemn it?

When I demand that Muslims condemn a terror attack that was carried out by another Muslim it is because they practice the same faith. I would expect a Black Muslim or a White Muslim to condemn that attack, just as well as a Brown Muslim.

I know nothing of this man. I doubt we share any religious beliefs as I'm largely undecided and unconfirmed in that regard. Auraptor says that he didn't like Trump or Hillary and was a Bernie supporter. I didn't read up on him, so I don't know that for a fact.

What else is there that links me to him, other than the fact that he's White? The fact that he's American? I'm sure as fuck not going to feel obligated to condemn the murders for either of those reasons.

Murder is bad. If it makes you happy I'll say that murder is bad. I don't know what else you expect from me on the subject.

What you're presenting here is the textbook definition of a false equivalency.

To tell you the truth, I find Kathy to be a untalented, humorless 'comedienne', who's looking to boost her career, such as it is, by creating controversy and making herself a martyr.

So it's been going on, on BOTH sides, for a while.

Meanwhile, as far as I can tell, this was the total of Trump's response: "Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself. My children, especially my 11 year old son, Barron, are having a hard time with this. Sick!" I certainly don't see a threat there, Griffin's claims notwithstanding.

IMO, people should just stop giving Griffin all that pointless press. Just let her sink back into the obscurity from when she arose, already.

Apparently, it's not working well. She's generating exposure farther than her original audience, but they don't seem to like her too well. More "blowback" than "echo". I think her career boosting move backfired. In the end, she'll wind up back with the people who would have listened to her anyway, but nobody else. I mean, she already had CNN exposure; now she even going to lose that. This "blip" versus that "lost exposure" will probably cancel out, except that her potential audience will have changed status from "naive" to "hate her", and she'll be on file somewhere in the NSA database.

She'd be awful easy to spot, were she to carry out her mission of beheading Trump. Although why would she do that? Both he and the world wouldn't miss anything since he doesn't have a brain (sung to the tune of "If I Only Had a Brain" from the Wizrd of Oz).

Now that's funny!!!

"Oh I could tell ya why the ocean's close to the shore,
I could think of things I never thunk before,
And then I'd sit...." and my brains would splatter all over the yellow brick road.

Poor Trump. Everybody makes fun of him, because he doesn't have a brain. All straw!

Okay I think I will answer your post now regarding this whole Kathy Griffin "joke"

Quote:

People get murdered every day. A lot of people. That sucks.

It's true, there are countless murders in this country that we don't comment on. The murder is not the issue, and it's not the reason I posted my response.

Quote:

The only reason that it got media attention was the same reason that you gave it more attention. It was used for political purposes.

The "news" outlets brought it up because it was news. Me, I brought it up because it was a white man that killed two other whites who were standing up to this maniac
"bully" in the name of freedom; this country's freedom. Defending a couple of young women who happened to be black. One was wearing a hajib. This fucking idiot was flexing his "shit for brains" muscle and showing his "superior" behavior by looking to intimidate them. This is white on white crime, for one thing.

How that becomes political? Well, you need to explain that to me. My reason was far more simple. You and others complained more about a stupid joke being posted about a stupid man - Trump, than you did about a senseless killing. Okay, you don't care about a man killing two heroic men coming to the aid of a fellow human. That is the real tragedy. Anyway, that's why I posted my response. Trump, in this case, was a mere minor distraction. You don't care, I get it. I just irks me that more attention was given to the stupidity of a stupid posting than to something truly important. That's all!

Quote:

Why do you feel the need for me to have to condemn it?

If I gave you that impression, it wasn't my intention. I was merely trying to point out the absurdity and ironic nature of the alt-right's response to a childish prank. Tasteless as it was, it's nothing compared to the loss of human life, and more so because of the senselessness of it. Over skin color! This big, burly strong man was threatened by two petite women. Pathetic!

Quote:

When I demand that Muslims condemn a terror attack that was carried out by another Muslim it is because they practice the same faith. I would expect a Black Muslim or a White Muslim to condemn that attack, just as well as a Brown Muslim.

Now here's where it gets a little weird for me. So, what you want is for all Muslims, regardless of skin color, condemn acts of violence by their fellow Muslims. Dude, you just finished telling me the opposite in the above paragraph.
That I have no right (and you are right about that) to tell you what to do (even though I did not do that). But what you do want is for the Muslims to do as you say, but not as you do.

No. It's a lot different.

One of the guys who put me in the hospital was black. One was mexican. Two were white. I don't expect blacks and mexicans to apologize to me for the actions of those idiots. Hell... What I DO expect is for every Muslim LEADER to condemn any attacks made by any Muslims, regardless of their race.

Islam is a ideology of INTOLERANCE and HATE.

2 million of them here in the USA might not be extremists, but it only took 19 of them to bring the country to its knees in 2001.

People like that need to be shamed by their own. They need to be outcasts. Future possible terrorists for the Muslim cause need to know ahead of time that this is not acceptable.

I have seen Muslim leaders here in this country condemn the violence perpetrated by those claiming to be Islamic. But that's me. In my neighborhood there is a mosque that has been here for decades, and so far no one has been killed by any of it's members. They live and work in the community, they have been around a long time and nothing untoward has ever happened.

Except for one thing: a Muslim cleric was stabbed in the back in a neighborhood not far from my area. He was walking to his home from "services" minding his own business.

You say that you haven't seen Islamic leaders condemn violence, I take you at your word.

I certainly don't condone violence such as what happened to the Muslim Cleric by you. I believe in the non-aggression principal. If you don't know what that means, it's essentially pacifism with the caveat that you can use violence if you, your family/friends or your property is being threatened by somebody else.

I blame that death on more than the individual who dealt it though. I don't know if it is Muslim leaders that aren't speaking out against terrorist attacks by Muslims or the MSM is not reporting it, but there is some blame to be had at their feet as well.

To most of us, Islam seems to be nothing more than an ideology of hate and intolerance. The people move to other countries by the 10s of thousands and set up their own communities and rarely integrate with the people who live there. They preach sharia law, and call anyone who is not a Muslim an infidel and an enemy of their religion. They make women practically their slaves and throw gays off of buildings in their home countries. They make videos chopping of the heads of non-believers. There has been 3 gruesome terror attacks in the UK in the last 3 months.

No. I don't agree with the murder of that Cleric. But there will likely be more of that to come as tensions rise if the leaders of Islam don't come out and condemn those acts and start disciplining their own who even speak of committing violence upon others in the name of their God.

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

http://edition.cnn.com/2017/06/05/europe/imams-london-burial/index.htm
l

More than 130 British imams refuse to bury London attackers

Imams and religious leaders from across the country and a range of schools of thought have come together to issue a public statement condemning the recent terror attack in London and conveying their pain at the suffering of the victims and their families.

In an unprecedented move, they have not only refused to perform the traditional Islamic prayer for the terrorist – a ritual that is normally performed for every Muslim regardless of their actions – but also have called on others to do the same. They said:

“Consequently, and in light of other such ethical principles which are quintessential to Islam, we will not perform the traditional Islamic funeral prayer over the perpetrators and we also urge fellow imams and religious authorities to withdraw such a privilege. This is because such indefensible actions are completely at odds with the lofty teachings of Islam.”

For the full statement and list of signatories, see below.

—————————–

Muslim Imams and religious leaders condemn the Manchester and London terror atrocities and urge fellow Imams to refuse to perform Islamic funeral prayers for the terrorists

“We, as Muslim Imams and religious leaders, condemn the recent terror attacks in Manchester and London in the strongest terms possible. Coming from a range of backgrounds, and from across the UK; feeling the pain the rest of the nation feels, we have come together to express our shock and utter disgust at these cold-blooded murders.

We are deeply hurt that a spate of terror attacks have been committed in our country once more by murderers who seek to gain religious legitimacy for their actions. We seek to clarify that their reprehensible actions have neither legitimacy nor our sympathy.

Though at no time is it acceptable, that such ruthless violence was perpetrated during the season of Ramadan, in which Muslims worldwide focus on pious devotion, prayer, charity and the cultivation of good character, demonstrates how utterly misguided and distant the terrorists are from our faith and the contempt which they hold for its values.

Alongside our friends and neighbours, we mourn this attack on our home, society and people, and feel pain for the suffering of the victims and their families. We pray to God that the perpetrators be judged in accordance with the gravity of their crimes in the hereafter. Their acts and wilful dismissal of our religious principles alienates them from any association with our community for whom the inviolability of every human life is the founding principle (Q.5:32).

Consequently, and in light of other such ethical principles which are quintessential to Islam, we will not perform the traditional Islamic funeral prayer for the perpetrators and we also urge fellow imams and religious authorities to withdraw such a privilege. This is because such indefensible actions are completely at odds with the lofty teachings of Islam.

These vile murderers seek to divide our society and instil fear; we will ensure they fail. We implore everyone to unite: we are one community. In the face of such dastardly cowardice, unlike the terrorists, we must uphold love and compassion.

Such criminals defile the name of our religion and of our Prophet, who was sent to be a mercy to all creation.

We commend our police and emergency services – with whom we stand shoulder to shoulder – for their rapid response, arriving at the scenes while risking their own lives to protect the victims and public. Their response exemplifies the courage, humanity and honour we must exhibit in such difficult times.

We pray for peace and unity, and for all the victims of terror both at home and across the globe, who are targeted, irrespective of their faith.”

In their statement, the imams said the terrorists do not represent Islam.
"We are deeply hurt that a spate of terror attacks have been committed in our country once more by murderers who seek to gain religious legitimacy for their actions. We seek to clarify that their reprehensible actions have neither legitimacy nor our sympathy," the Muslim leaders said.
"These vile murderers seek to divide our society and (instill) fear; we will ensure they fail. We implore everyone to unite: we are one community. In the face of such dastardly cowardice, unlike the terrorists, we must uphold love and compassion."

You have a very treasonous view of how justice in the US should work, THUGGER. In fact, you have many other treasonous views as well. You hate the election process and want to void it.

That's a great start. This should be playing on every single television all over the globe.

Can anybody watching the news on either CNN/MSNBC and FOX tell me how much coverage this is getting?

I will keep an eye out for this, but I agree with Brenda, this is good to see.
I guess this is what you've been looking for Six. Of course, we don't want these guys to be targeted by ISIS either, but this is the risk you take for freedom of religion.

I haven't bought into the anti-Trump stuff, especially the Russia narrative, but I haven't really said much good stuff about him either.

Nobody is going to want to admit it, but the fact that Obama isn't in office anymore was probably a large catalyst for this action. There is a renewed pushback against Islam now that Brexit and Trump happened, and that Le Pen came as close to winning France as she did, and the Populist movement is growing in Europe.

6 months ago our President wouldn't even say the word Terrorism. They got a free pass both in the U.S. and in Europe.

In the end, I think the changes happening now are going to be good for everybody in the long run.
