But why am I arguing with a religious person? You have your religion, as warped as it is, and nothing is going to shake it from you.

What Trump is against is what the 1 Percenters are against: higher taxes on the wealthy, more IRS audits of the wealthy, more prosecutions for white-collar crimes. These would also get Trump removed from the White House, but only if the Senate was willing to convict Trump.

You might have noticed that Trump voters describe tax audits and white-collar prosecutions as Witch Hunts. They don't even want to think about crime. They certainly don't want convictions. It all works out great for the 1 Percenters. I, for example, have never been audited, not because I'm honest, but because the GOP reduced the budget for the IRS. If Trump had ever got a real audit, he would be much poorer. A conviction for tax cheating would have kept him out of the White House.

Trump's latest line of argument is that because neither Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, the man who established the special counsel, or Mueller were elected -- and Trump was -- they have no right to judge him.

On Wednesday, Trump said, "It's interesting that a man gets appointed by a deputy; he writes a report. You know -- never figured that one out," he said. "I had the greatest electoral victory -- one of them -- in the history of our country. Tremendous success. Tens of millions of voters. And now somebody is going to write a report who never got a vote."

Here's Trump in an interview with Fox Business Network's Maria Bartiromo that was released Friday morning:

"It's always interesting to me because a deputy, that didn't get any votes, appoints a man that didn't get any votes, he's going to write a report on me. I had one of the greatest election victories in history. Would you say that's true? They came from the valleys, they came from the rivers, they came from the cities, they came from all over, they voted in one of the greatest elections in the history of our country, and now I have a man, because we have an attorney general who -- nobody can even believe he didn't tell me, but he recused himself -- so I have a man who is a deputy who I don't know, who I didn't know at all, and he appoints a man who had just left my office, I didn't give him the job at the FBI, [James] Comey's his best friend, but listen, you know it better than anybody, you've been very fair in this, but listen, I have a deputy, appoints a man to write a report on me, to make a determination on my presidency? People will not stand for it."

Vice-President Mike Pence was elected with just as many votes as Trump. He is the only person in the world who could stand in judgment of Trump.

Trump claims Mueller investigation 'illegal,' ignoring multiple court rulings

www.cnn.com/2019/03/21/politics/fact-check-trump-says-mueller-investig
ation-is-illegal/index.html

Trump's head is empty. One ruling out of many: Concord Management and Consulting, a Russian company Mueller's team says operated a "troll farm" that produced political propaganda online during the 2016 campaign, was charged last year with conspiring to defraud the US government by interfering with the Federal Election Commission, the Justice Department and the State Department.

Federal judge Dabney Friedrich of the US District Court in DC, sided with Mueller's team and rejected Concord's argument that Mueller's investigation was unconstitutional. "The appointment does not violate core separation-of-powers principles," Friedrich wrote in an opinion last August. "Nor has the Special Counsel exceeded his authority under the appointment order by investigating and prosecuting Concord." Judge Fredrich was appointed by Trump.

Destroy, you say? Psychiatrists are speaking with dire predictions about the potential for a deranged person with extraordinary powers to create global mayhem and destruction.

“He has very poor coping mechanisms when he is criticized or when he feels humiliated,” Bandy Lee, a forensic psychiatrist from Yale and the editor of The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump, the second edition of which is out this month, told me, “and at these points he generally goes into attack mode and he threatens others or tries to get revenge. The Mueller report is of a scale that is probably unlike what we have seen him undergo before.”

Worst-case scenario? “Obliterate observing eyes of his humiliation,” Lee said. Meaning? “Destroying the world. That, very quickly, becomes an avenue, a perceived solution … for individuals with his personality structure.”

Trump is against illegal immigration. He's also against the TPP and TTIP. Those are far more important than any financial crimes he may or may not have committed. I look at Presidents for their POLICIES, not their personalities or personal crimes.

Look at Obama ... his POLICIES increased wealth inequality and the deficit and eroded Consitutional liberties at the same rate as under GWB and Clinton. Trump is merely following in the path of the previous Presidents.

But if you want to compare the previous two candidates on the basis of corruption or personality, Hillary and Bill (the WH crime family) were just as corrupt and just as psychopathic (if not more so) than Trump.

But why am I talking to a religious person? You have your beliefs, and nothing is going to shake them from you.

Mike Pence is against all same things as Trump and without the personal crimes. If you were truly interested in "their POLICIES" Pence could carry out those policies faster than Trump. It has been pointed out that Trump is disorganized, which makes him ineffective at carrying out his policies. Pence is organized. And Pence didn't have to keep his tax returns secret because he is not a crook. Being a crook interferes with policies. And Pence doesn't lie dozens of times per day, unlike Trump. Being a liar interferes with policies if Congress can't trust you to keep your word. Shutting down the government for no purpose interferes with policies.

Pence was Trump's choice. If Trump could not depend on Pence, then it is Trump's fault. He should have picked somebody who does share his dream. The only person kicking over the Constitution is Trump and he did it this week, overriding Congress with a veto. Not 2/3rds of Congress agreed that what Trump wants to do is unconstitutional, but all the Democrats agreed. Dozens of Republicans agreed with the Democrats about Trump's unconstitutional grab for power. This will end in the Courts, but in the meantime, Trump won't get his wall, mostly because what he does is unconstitutional.

Trump is simply posturing? It that the same as lying? Yes, it is. He is also lying about the origins of the Russia investigation.

He wants you to believe it began with the Steele dossier. It didn’t. It’s not surprising that Trump and his allies are pushing their narrative that the investigation has been a political “witch hunt” from the start. But unfortunately for Fox News and Trump, their new favorite talking point is false.

The FBI’s investigation originated with George Papadopoulos, not Christopher Steele, despite what Trump says over and over about Steele. You'd think somebody would punch Trump in the mouth for spreading that convenient falsehood, won't you? But it doesn't ever happen.

We’ve known since December 2017 that the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation of the Trump campaign began in July 2016 — months before the FBI was even alerted to the existence of the Steele dossier.

During a night of heavy drinking in London, Papadopoulos bragged to Australia’s top diplomat in Britain about his knowledge that Russia had political dirt on Hillary Clinton in the form of thousands of emails that would embarrass Mrs. Clinton, apparently stolen in an effort to try to damage her campaign. The Australian diplomat told American diplomats and they told the FBI. That doesn't match with Trump's widespread lie about how the investigation started. When is somebody going to punch Trump in the mouth for lying?

The letter that William P. Barr, the attorney general, sent to Congress.
www.nytimes.com/2019/03/22/us/politics/mueller-report.html

The Attorney General

Washington, D.C. 20510

The Honorable Dianne Feinstein
Ranking Member, Committee on the Judiciary United States Senate
331 Hart Senate Office Building

The Honorable Jerrold Nadler Chairman, Committee on the Judiciary United States House of Representatives

Washington, D.C. 20515

The Honorable Doug Collins
Ranking Member, Committee on the Judiciary United States House of Representatives
1504 Longworth House Office Building
Washington, D.C. 20515

Dear Chairman Graham, Chairman Nadler, Ranking Member Feinstein, and Ranking Member Collins:

I write to notify you pursuant to 28 C.F.R. § 600.9(a)(3) that Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III has concluded his investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election and related matters. In addition to this notification, the Special Counsel regulations require that I provide you with ‘‘a description and explanation of instances (if any) in which the Attorney General” or acting Attorney General “concluded that a proposed action by a Special Counsel was so inappropriate or unwarranted under established Departmental practices that it should not be pursued.” 28 C.F.R. § 600.9(a)(3). There were no such instances during the Special Counsel’s investigation.

The Special Counsel has submitted to me today a “confidential report explaining the prosecution or declination decisions” he has reached, as required by 28 C.F.R. § 600.8(c). I am reviewing the report and anticipate that I may be in a position to advise you of the Special Counsel’s principal conclusions as soon as this weekend.

Separately, I intend to consult with Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein and Special Counsel Mueller to determine what other information from the report can be released to Congress and the public consistent with the law, including the Special Counsel regulations, and the Department’s long-standing practices and policies. I remain committed to as much transparency as possible, and I will keep you informed as to the status of my review.

Finally, the Special Counsel regulations provide that “the Attorney General may determine that public release of” this notification “would be in the public interest.” 28 C.F.R. § 600.9(c). I have so determined, and I will disclose this letter to the public after delivering it to you.

Sincerely,
William P. Barr
Attorney General

It's more a question of when, not if.

I think Trump will probably get reelected. The Dems just can't seem to learn any lessons from their defeats. If we get some center-right lame-o like Joe or Beto, they can kiss the presidency goodbye.

It's like they want to lose. Perhaps they do. The DNC refuses to do what it would take to win: Run a real progressive candidate who would excite voters.

There are still plenty of crimes to investigate. Impeachable ones. But the Repubs have lots of dark money campaign cash, and an immovable cult of brainwashed, low-IQ sheep who literally wouldn't care if he shot someone on 5th avenue. Modern politics have given a new meaning to "Teflon president."

Then time will tell if Trump will be just like every other two term president that ever existed and just forget about the wall and the promises he made.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

What is just posturing?
How will it affect the 2022 Mid-terms?

What? You can't connect the dots there?

The wall won't be built before election. At least not any significant part of it.

What has been accomplished during the first few years of the first half of the Trump presidency, however, is proof that the Democratic party is against border security. Facing off against a president that has pushed for it like no other has done before, they had to stop lying about it and come clean.

This, among other things, will secure Trump's re-election in 2022, and will possibly result in a swing back into Republican's favor in the house.

But then we have to see if the wall actually gets built. I somehow doubt that it will.

That is why I say it's just posturing.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Trump won't be running for any Office in the 2022 Mid-term Elections.
Perhaps you mean Trump will be running for Reelection in 2020.
Or else, he loses in 2020 and you think he'll run again in 2024.

You know what I meant. Stop being a dick.

The wall won't be built before 2020.

After being backed into a corner and finally admitting they never wanted to secure the border, Democrats will be blamed.

Trump will win in 2020 and likely get the house back.

The wall still won't be built because the GOP secretly doesn't want it either.

End of story.

In both experiments, the researchers found that corrections did what they were intended to do: nudge people toward the truth. Trump supporters were more resistant to the nudge, but they were nudged all the same.

But here’s the kicker: The corrections didn’t change their feelings about Trump (when participants in the corrections conditions were compared with controls).

“People were willing to say Trump was wrong, but it didn’t have much of an effect on what they felt about him,” Nyhan says.

So facts make an impression. They just don’t matter for our decision-making, which is a conclusion that’s abundant in psychology science.

In a more rule-bound environment, Mueller’s interest in opening Trump’s books would probably be checkmate for the president. It is widely suspected that a peek under the hood of the Trump organization will reveal serious financial crimes. Assuming that informed speculation is correct, Mueller would uncover the wrongdoing and bring down a president, or Trump would fire Mueller and Congress would step in to edge Trump out.

This is assuming our system of checks and balances hasn’t broken down. Republicans have given every indication over the course of the past several months that no malfeasance, no matter how naked and severe, will impel them to rein in Trump or impeach him.

That leaves the crisis to be decided by the midterm election. That election is 16 months away. Between now and then, Trump’s DOJ and his sham election-integrity commission will seek to disenfranchise as many Democratic voters as possible, while the president himself beseeches further foreign interference aimed at Democratic candidates. Absent the necessary election sweep, everything Trump will have done for his own enrichment and protection will have been ratified, and a point of no return will have been crossed.

Trump’s recklessness is raising the stakes. The claims that Trump and his legal team are putting forward are already radical: that Trump can’t be charged with obstruction of justice because it’s in his power to terminate an investigation at any time. Although he came close, Nixon would not go that far. As president, Trump is different. Trump is preparing to drive the political system over the cliff.

Bob Bauer wrote on the blog Lawfare that Trump firing Robert Mueller would end the investigation and leave only impeachment as a remedy, with Trump counting on Republicans in the House and the Senate to support him no matter what. If the Democrats took back the House in the 2018 midterm elections, Trump could be impeached, but he would remain in power since Democrats won’t have the two-thirds votes necessary in the Senate to remove him. Emma Loop of BuzzFeed interviewed four Republican senators about whether firing Mueller would be a mistake. Only one, Marco Rubio of Florida, unequivocally said yes.

One of the main reasons for elevating Mueller as a public figure — to make him a household name — is so that firing him would become a more politically costly act. If Trump fires Mueller before the Democrats can make it a national issue, then the public will be playing catch-up with the story. The better known Mueller is, the more costly his firing would be to Trump.

If Republican Senators won't defend Mueller’s job, and Mueller is fired, they’ll be tainted as enablers in the next election.

Trump thinks that the worst that could happen is he writes more books like Nixon did in retirement. And Trump will have an advantage that Nixon didn't -- Trump has money to hire ghostwriters to do the actual work of writing his books. Trump's books will be better than Nixon's, Trump's will be the best, ever! Believe me.

Congress has handcuffed Donald Trump on Russia.

Back in December, Obama announced a raft of new sanctions against Russia and the expulsion of dozens of Russian diplomats from the US as a penalty for its meddling in the 2016 election.

Today, Obama-era sanctions against Russia that are in place under executive orders — directives that only the president had authority to enact and rescind — are enshrined in the law. Trump can't rescind Obama's orders. It is not the same as Trump losing all Presidential power and being booted from the White House by Mike Pence, but it is a start.

The next step in taking the White House away from Trump a little bit at a time is for Congress to forbid him from firing Robert Mueller.

If he fires Mueller he's toast. If he doesn't fire Mueller he's toast. By firing Comey and saying on tv that he did it to stop the investigation into his ties with Russia, he's toast. He's likely been laundering money for Russian Mob/Oligarchs. Jr. attempted collusion - we still don't know what was exchanged at that meeting. It's a mess G. He held a rally in Virginia to show he has enough support to make the lives of the Republicans difficult, to say the least. If he is guilty, he has to fire Mueller. Rallying his base first would be smart.

The Art of the Deal ghostwriter Tony Schwartz says Donald Trump’s presidency ‘is effectively over’

Tony Schwartz, the co-author on Donald Trump’s infamous 1987 book The Art of the Deal, has said he believes Trump will soon resign from his position as POTUS.

The ghostwriter, who spent 18 months working on the book with the business tycoon in the 1980s, has been one of Trump’s most vocal critics since he started running in the presidential race. While he was with Trump writing his book, he said the business mogul was thinking about “how do I do whatever is best for me and how do I get over everybody else,” he told CNN today.

On Thursday, Schwartz tweeted: “Almost all of Trump’s limited attention is focused on beating down his critics. No time for governing which doesn’t interest him anyway.”

“The circle is closing at blinding speed. Trump is going to resign and declare victory before Mueller and congress leave him no choice.”

“He’ll say he did everything he could to save America. He’s going to try and paint this as his own victory and he’s the ultimate victor.”

Oh, and this little leak was produced by McConnell's staff. McConnell is a shrewd operator, he will not publicly shame Trump, but will submit a threat to his political career. Obstruction of justice in regards to the Senate Majority leader, both houses are protected under the law. If it's true and Mueller investigates - all the rallies in the world won't help Trump.
