I am investing in nonperishabl food. McConnelll and Ryan are dedicated to helping Trump trash the country and we are too far away from 2020, so there will be no Prez Obama to rescue us this time.

Dow closed today at 23,924. This is the best bargain price since 2 April. This is 10.1% off the Record All-Time High.

I think this is the 7th day of this year with a close of more than 10% off the Record All-Time High.

The Fed Report came out today. Reportedly a larger than expected investment figure from companies.

If you are buying at the highest price and selling at lows, you are not interested in a bargain. Go back to investing in your slot machines and fuel reservoirs.

Dow closed at 24,262 today. A gain of more than 1% for the day.

Today the Jobs Report was released, reporting U-3 of 3.7% and U-6 of 7.4%, both lowest since 1994 when U-6 was created. These are also lower than I had heard were expected. Instead of the number of Unemployed expected drop by 190,000 the actual drop in the report is 739,000. The total of fully Employed increased by 815,000 for the month.

What I'm saying is that somebody who bought 10% ago might have already bought at a high and is now 10% less rich.

It's foolish, and possibly dangerous, to keep calling today a bargain when you have no clue what tomorrow holds.

Only if you sell at the low, which is what I pointed out.
If you don't sell at a loss, and sell at a gain, then you don't lose.
Or, as worst case, if you sell at a loss to avoid a greater loss or to obtain a juxtaposed gain, then you still don't lose overall.

Perhaps I should point out, here in the moment: these are the days of making the largest gains in funds. Buying at a discount of 6% can get an easy gain on bounce back, in a matter of days instead of the 55 days it recently took to scale this mountain of stock value.
And if it can drop to 22,623 then the rebound can only be reasonably expected to be 5% to 10% of the all-time high, so buying at the end of Monday could still result in a loss.
But regardless, whenever the market hits the best bargain price, that is when the common trader has the greatest opportunity to grow their funds. Although this volatility is just noise, the potential for growth is far greater than days of a couple hundred point gains.

This was posted on 6 Feb. I should try to post it at top of page for convenience, since a lot of noise has been posted since then.

Alright, so let's take a moment to explore the scenario if the Libtard view actually wasn't a delusion.

Their premise is that the real actual value of the Market is represented by Dow 15,000.
So then 26,616 is an actual overevaluation of 11,616 - or 177% of the true value. That may well be a historical record.
So if Dow goes no higher than that during this cycle, then a drop to 22,623 will signal onset of a Bear Market cycle. The rebound will go to about 23,954 - 25,285 range and then drop. A Bear Market drop always bottoms far below the true value of a stock, so the Dow would at this point bottom out around 8,000 - 12,000. The would represent a drop of 55% - 70%. Such a large drop gives investors plenty of time or range to recognize the drop and exit their stocks, before the bottom price is available to buy back in for massive gains - doubling or tripling your fund value. Unless the Libtard duplicates 2008 and keeps all their money in the Market until they've lost 60% of their life savings. So what are the Libtards panicking about? Their scenario provides the best possible outcome for their funds!

By comparison OTOH, if the Libtards are delusional and the Stock Market is the Real World, then a couple extreme possibilities can be presented.
One is that, for no reason, the current high of 26,616 remains the peak of this cycle. The drop to trigger remains the same as above, as well as the rebound range. But then the bottom would be more like 17,740 (67%) or we could hope for 13,300 (50%). The discount price for buying back in would not be as big of a bargain, plus the time of range of drop would be more brief, so exiting the fund would be more time critical, allowing for less dilly-dallying. And then the recovery gains would only be 30 - 50%.
The other possibility would be that the explanation for Obamanomics which I posted earlier in this thread are correct. The Market will continue to climb, for up to 8 years, before moving to Bear Market.
By that time most folk would have forgotten about Libtard delusional theories.

Another repost, for convenience. From 8 Feb.

Dow closed at 24,739. The 5th day of gain since the Jobs Report. (Which showed the lowest Unemployment Rate since 1960s, the Lowest U-6 ever, the lowest Marginally Attached ever, the lowest Involuntary Part-time since 1994)

This is a gain of 3.4% since the bargain price on 3 May, 5 trading days ago. This is 54% APR.

This is 7.05% off the Record All-Time High.

Intraday trading of Dow again spanned more than 1% today. Afternoon trading was above 24,790 before settling. That is the highest since 18 April. The last Dow close that high was 16 March, before the Facebook drop.

Making money is called Market Timing.

Instead of buying high and selling low, you should try the opposite.

I don't have any disposable income. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

I'm driving around a 22 year old POS that I'm trying to fix up to get another 5 or 10 years out of it. I have dentures to buy. I have things in my house that need to be upgraded. I don't own a cell phone. I don't own a flat screen TV. I don't have cable TV. My newest computer is over 4 years old.

Rules of investment #101: Don't invest money that you might need in the next 5 years.

My bi-weekly take home pay after taxes right now is right around $400 bucks if I'm lucky. There won't be any gambling in the DOW in the near future on my end.

Meanwhile, it was just announced that we won't be getting a bonus for this year. That was going to cover my property taxes next year and free up a little more of my current cash to put into the house and car and my teeth. Now it's going directly into investor's pockets.

My only option at this point is continue to improve my health while trying to finish some side work I've been doing for over a year now and turn it into a stream of income. There are no good jobs available, at least for people who don't have a degree, regardless of what your unemployment charts say.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Dow closed today at 25,013. That is the first close over 25K since 13 March.

This is 6% off the Record All-Time High. Prior to 2018, Dow had never traded over 25K.

Reportedly, yesterday Trump negotiated a Trade Truce with China, pushing the market up over half a percent before the opening this morning.
But also, yesterday Trump tweeted a demand for DoJ to investigate the crimes committed by Obamabots regarding the FISC.

On 24 May the CBO will release their analysis of Trump's FY 2019 Federal Budget, delayed from January. Who thinks the Market will respond to it?

I suspect the report will be begrudgingly more optimistic compared to their other recent reports. And I expect the Market to respond favorably, absent other factors.

This was posted 23 March, with the lowest close of the Dow in 2018, at 23,533.
Prior to 4 November 2017 the Dow had never closed higher than 23,516.

The within quote was from 6 Feb. Folk can't say I didn't provide the recipe in time.

Overnight North Korea released a letter threatening Nuclear Attack and insulting VP Pence, triggering cancellation of the negotiation with Trump. The Dow was down more than 1% in the morning before coming back up.

Dow closed at 24,753 today. Looks like the highest week average in 2 months. This is 7% off the Record All-Time High.

Next week: on 30 May BEA releases monthly report on GDP update, on 31 May Dept of Labor releases weekly report on Jobless Claims, and on 1 June BLS releases monthly report on Unemployment. I expect begrudgingly positive indicators from these Deep State Obamabots.

Dow closed today at 24,415.

This week has almost been in the range it was 3 weeks ago.
Today Trump announced Tariffs on steel and aluminium imports from Canada, Mexico, EU. Which reportedly start tonight.

Tomorrow BLS releases the Unemployment figures for May.
I expect even lower rates than the last 2 months. The month average of Jobless Claims is the lowest in at least a decade, not sure how many decades.

Edit: correction. The Tariffs had already been announced, but a temporary exemption had been granted Canada, Mexico, EU - to give them time to negotiate an agreement somewhere between what Obama had gifted them and what Trump wanted for America. Since they have shown they were not serious about any negotiation, Trump announced the cancellation of the temporary exemption.
