Sometimes you own the libs. Sometimes, the libs own you.

Quote:

So how has the country been doing during President Obama's term in office? Here's a scattering of indicators and how they've changed from 2008 (the last year of the Bush presidency) to now:

1. Unemployment rate (U3): DOWN from 5.8 percent to 4.7 percent.
2. Underemployment rate (U6): DOWN from 10.6 percent to 9.6 percent.
3. Violent crime rate (per 100,000 residents): DOWN from 459 to 366.
4. Fear of crime: DOWN from 37 percent to 35 percent.
5. Uninsured rate: DOWN from 19.7 percent to 10.3 percent.
6. Number of illegal immigrants: DOWN from 11.8 million to 11.3 million.
7. Illegal immigrants from Mexico: DOWN from 6.6 million to 5.6 million.
8. Teen pregnancy rate (per thousand females): DOWN from 40 to 25.
9. Current account balance (trade deficit): DOWN from 4.6 percent of GDP to 2.3 percent of GDP.
10. American war deaths: DOWN from 469 to 28.
11. Inflation rate: DOWN from 3.8 percent to 1.1 percent.
12. Shootings of police officers: DOWN from 149 to 120.
13. Abortion rate (per thousand women): DOWN from 19 to 16.9 (through 2011).
14. Federal deficit: DOWN from 3.1 percent of GDP to 2.5 percent of GDP.
15. Drug abuse: DOWN from 22.4 million to 21.6 million (through 2013).
16. Drug abuse among teenagers: DOWN from 7.7 million to 5.2 million (through 2013).
17. Household debt (as percent of disposable income): DOWN from 12.8 percent to 10 percent.
18. Public high school graduation rate: UP from 74 percent to 82 percent (through 2013).

I'm not presenting this stuff because I think it will change anyone's mind. Nor because Obama necessarily deserves credit for all of them. You can decide that for yourself. It's mostly just to get it on the record. And it's worth noting that none of this may matter in the face of two other statistics that might be more important than all the rest put together:

19. Median household income: DOWN from $55,313 to $53,657 (through (2014).
20. Americans killed in terror attacks: UP from 14 to 50+ (so far in 2016).

If you measure household income more broadly, it looks better than the raw Census figures. And household income has finally started increasing over the past couple of years. On the terror front, the absolute number of American fatalities from terrorist attacks is obviously very small. Still, the number of brutal attacks in the US and Europe (the only ones Americans care about) has obviously spiked considerably over the past year.

Are these two things enough to outweigh everything else? Maybe. Come back in November and I'll tell you.

White Americans are the biggest terror threat in the United States

White Americans are the biggest terror threat in the United States, according to a study by the New America Foundation. The Washington-based research organization did a review of “terror” attacks on US soil since Sept. 11, 2001 and found that most of them were carried out by radical anti-government groups or white supremacists.

Almost twice as many people have died in attacks by right-wing groups in America than have died in attacks by Muslim extremists. Of the 26 attacks since 9/11 that the group defined as terror, 19 were carried out by non-Muslims. Yet there are no white Americans languishing inside the prison camp at Guantanamo Bay. And there are no drones dropping bombs on gatherings of military-age males in the country's lawless border regions.

Attacks by right-wing groups get comparatively little coverage in the news media. Most people will struggle to remember the shooting at a Sikh temple in Wisconsin that killed six people in 2012. A man who associated with neo-Nazi groups carried out that shooting. There was also the married couple in Las Vegas who walked into a pizza shop and murdered two police officers. They left a swastika on one of the bodies before killing a third person in a Wal-Mart parking lot. Such attacks are not limited to one part of the country. In 2011, two white supremacists went on a shooting spree in the Pacific Northwest, killing four people.

More from GlobalPost: Turns out people get angry when you say white Americans are terrorists, too.

Science. Facts. Reichwingers no likey. ^

Jihadist attacks are so rare here as to be inconsequential. Stop buying the fear Faux and reichwing media have pounded into your feeble brain, and look at the facts.

This vote will be a referendum on Obama v 'ANYthing is better than more of the same'. And for many people "it's the economy, stupid". How has Obama's economy been for Main Street?

Let me just point out that the author left out vital relevant facts in the opinion piece. Doing that is known as cherry-picking. And whether you do that in the news, in discussion, in debate or in opinion, when you distort the facts, you've changed the nature of your communication into propaganda. But WE don't have any of THAT in the US, do we?!

Black anger at police killings of unarmed black citizens has increased due to high profile incidents captured on camera phones. Technology is shining a light on an ugly aspect of American society that has been ignored before now.

Obama's racially divisive agenda and racist aggression has been the ugliest aspect of American society which, before Obamination, was moderated instead of exacerbated by the likes of Obama.

You also missed any information on the Federal Debt:
Using figures from this site, end of September figures:
https://www.treasurydirect.gov/govt/reports/pd/histdebt/histdebt_histo
5.htm

Clinton went from $4.0 Trillion to $5.6 T, Bush43 went from $5.6 T to $10.0 T, and so far Obamination has gone from $10.0 T to $19.4 Trillion.

As an increase of Debt, this CBS report shows Obama had the largest increase in history, needing only 3 years and 2 months to exceed what Bush took 8 years (the last 2 under Democrat control of Congress) to do (including launching military operations to combat what Clinton avoided).
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/national-debt-has-increased-more-under-oba
ma-than-under-bush
/

As a percentage, Bush's 8 years increased 78.5% and Obama only needed 6 years to achieve that dubious milestone, getting to $17.82 T in 2014.

Not including Obama's QE request that is tacked onto Bush's figures, Obama has doubled the federal debt. This means he has created more Federal Debt than the previous 43 Presidents combined - that means added all together.

And this site:
http://www.usdebtclock.org/index.html
shows that while Obama claims attractive figures for unemployment, we have 151 Million in the US Work Force and 94 Million Not In Labor Force (meaning they have given up trying to get work after so many years of Obaminomics). That is 38.4% NILF.
Yet, adjusted for population growth, in 2000 we had 155 Million in the US Work Force and only 79 Million Not In Labor Force.
Actual 2000 number were 135 M and 69 M, for 33.8% NILF.
In 2008 it was 144 USWF and 80 NILF, for 35.7%.
Thus further proof your fantasy Obama numbers are nothing but lies.

Well look at the bright side. Obama depressed American incomes down to the level that Reagan got it up to, and left it at. Now the next President will be able to start at the point that Reagan handed it off at, except without Reaganomics in force to push it up.

If mass shootings make for domestic terrorism, 48 were White, 14 Black, 6 each Asian and Latino, 5 'Other', 3 Native America, and 1 'Unclear'.

By the numbers, Whites are the biggest problem.

As for domestic bombings, there was the Oklahoma City bombing, April 19, 1995. 168 were killed, 680+ were injured, and I hope I don't have to remind you, both Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols were White. No other domestic bombing even comes close.

It's funny how they scream bloody murder when their POV doesn't get coverage, but present them with these set of facts and.........silence.

I contend that the suffering "on Main Street" in the Obama years was mainly the legacy of the fiscal irresponsibility (record deficits) and the huge financial crisis in the Bush years.

Unfortunately I couldn't find a graph that went back to HW Bush and also included Obama. But this makes the point pretty well that Clinton's presidency was an anomaly.

The thing that was remarkable about GW Bush was that he took something - the Federal coffers - that was working well for the first time since - maybe ever - and broke it.

But GW Bush wasn't the only problem in the 2007 crisis. Through the repeal of the Glass-Steagal Act in 1999 signed into law by Bill Clinton (and which was prompted by Basel I in 1988) and other deregulatory moves (that took place during Bill's administration as well as before), and through Bush federal preemption policy that blocked the state attorneys general from acting on predatory loans http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2008-10-08/they-warned-us-about
-the-mortgage-crisis
the crisis was preordained from the US side. The Europeans also have a lot to answer for.

From the US side, many bad loans were INTENTIONALLY written WITHOUT OVERSIGHT. The reason for that was because at the time, the only thing that made the US economy look good was the housing bubble. These bad loans were then sold and used as collateral by big UNREGULATED investment firms and underwritten by large insurers. WHEN THE HOUSING MARKET COOLED (and since it was a bubble, it was bound to happen as it reached saturation), suddenly the underlying value of the loans on which the whole house of cards was built came into question. That's when it all fell apart.

BTW, with low, LOW, LOW! capitalization requirements, every time a bundle of loans was repackaged and resold as an 'asset' on which to base more loans, its value went up two orders of magnitude - it was multiplied by 100.

Now, my contention AT THE TIME was that the US government could have stabilized the entire structure for roughly a thousandth of a penny on the dollar by insuring the underlying home loans instead of repairing the many-hundreds-of-times-multiplied overlying investments. But I haven't seen that in print anywhere.

So, blame goes to historical deregulation before Bill. Another portion goes to Bill for the deregulation he allowed and enacted. A chunk of blame goes to Europe and Basel I and England's own bubble (and I remember reading about the one person who warned years ahead of time about the impending crash of the RBS). Dumbya leaned into it by allowing bad loans because the housing bubble was the only thing that made the economy look good, and by driving the US into deep debt, leaving the government in perilous condition to deal with the crash. Then, imo, the government spent trillions of dollars making speculative investments whole, rather than the far cheaper option of guaranteeing underlying loans. All together, trillions of dollars were sent by the US directly to banks and investment firms. It never made it to the consumer, where it could have potentially lifted the economy.

And BTW, that's where things STILL stand today. All that QE is going to banks, which are taking that low-interest money and gambling in the various stock markets - another bubble about to crash if there ever was one, and the only bright economic spot around.

It's not going to the workers and consumers, who've seen their real paychecks, family income, and accumulated value fall, ever since 2007.

You are free to disagree, but I think there are few economists who would.

Finally, since you claim 'many economists' agree with you (few economists disagree), how about linking 'many'?

2006, before Democrat takeover of Congress: around 69%, hovering around it's All-Time High. It has been all downhill since.

Things are starting to come into focus.

You are a Nazi, right?
You're on the Fourth Reich now, right?
The Nazi definition of "propaganda" is truth, right? That is why whenever you see facts, truth, reality being shared, you spout "propaganda" whether or not you understand that the rest of us non-Nazis in the real world usually interpret that word to mean lies, like what you claim as truth.

And the Obaminomics disastrous effect on the Labor Participation Rate.
This is what used to be akin to the unemployment rate, before Obama redefined unemployed people as not really unemployed, in order to inflate hype from his failed policies.

Even Obamination's BLS admits it is the worst since 1978 when Carter was President.

Those percentage number are the peak of over 66% in 2006, and back under 63% in 2015.

That is from this site, input year 1974-2016:
http://data.bls.gov/pdq/SurveyOutputServlet
That link might not work, try this, then input the 1974:
http://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS11300000

And the number of Americans not in the Labor Force is over 95 Million, the worst in 70 years.

As usual for you, I think you’re drawing the wrong conclusion by focusing on race. In May 2016 it was 43,478,196 people on SNAP. There is a warning with this number: “FY 2016 data are preliminary; all data are subject to revision.” - www.fns.usda.gov/sites/default/files/pd/34SNAPmonthly.pdf

Over time the numbers look like this:
www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-02-03/food-stamps-still-feed-one-
in-seven-americans-despite-recovery

The program became an issue in the 2012 presidential campaign, as Republican contender Newt Gingrich called President Barack Obama a "food stamp president." It still smolders, with Republicans including presidential candidate Jeb Bush saying SNAP needs to be reined in. “Reined in” means that fatso Gingrich and fat-ass Bush (both are tubs of lard, as is Trump) would have been so much happier if only Obama had just let them go hungry, as in days of old. What is most interesting is this graph:

I interpret the graph as Obama not stopping employers from doing as they please to employees. Others might interpret it as Adam Smith’s Invisible Hand in action, but whatever you prefer depending on your personal preferences in explanations.

The number of Federal Budgets proposed and passed before the onset of the Fiscal Year by Obama: ZERO of 8. That translates to NEVER. Obama has NEVER obeyed the Federal Laws required of him regarding the Federal Budget.

Number of Federal Budgets proposed by the deadline: 2 of 8, meaning 6 times Obama has refused to obey the Federal Law requiring him to comply with Budget Deadlines.

From 1923 to 1984, no President ever was late in submitting a Proposed Budget. Reagan, Bush 41, Bush 43 each were late once. Clinton was late twice. Obama has been late more than all other Presidents in history combined.

Some reports indicate that Obama never submitted a Budget on time before FY 2016 in February 2015, but some say he did in 2009 for FY 2010. Both of those times he did not submit before, but may have submitted on the exact deadline date.

Bush 43 made 24 in a little under 3 years (until Fall 2003), or around 8 per year.

Of Course, Obama has not compared to the laziest President of all - Democrap Woodrow Wilson with 1,200 rounds in his 8 years (2,922 days).

Vacations and travel for the Obamas:
Over $70 million per year just on travel alone.

Over 1.4 BILLION per year in vacation costs - as of 2011, because they won't release the records until years have passed.
The Royal Family of the British Empire (or United Kingdom) costs a whopping 58 Million per year, by comparison)

The least transparent Regime in history.

Obama sets record with Pardons.

Self-admitted Drug Dealer Obama has issued 583 Pardons to his fellow criminals in 2016 so far.

No other President has issued that many Pardons in a single year, but then no other President had already admitted to being a criminal before running for office - even Slick Willie denied that he had inhaled a marijuana joint.

Only a few have issued that many Pardons in their entire time in office - Nixon (926), Ike (1157), Truman (2044, most in a year was 400). JFK only did 575, Carter only did 566, Clinton only did 459.

More criminals on the streets - good plan, as long as you hate America like Barry and Moochelle do.

Obama sets new standards for Despotic appointments to Federal Offices, avoiding Constitutional process (maybe because he likes being a criminal, or he just cannot avoid voilating the Laws and The Constitution).

No other President has done so.

More Obama accomplishments;

The largest ever Arms Deal, over $80 Billion in one shot, plus more than another $20 Billion prior - All to the Saudis, as well as more Arms Deals selling our weapons to other Middle East countries (EXCLUDING Israel), and only after depositing vast sums of kickbacks/bribes into the Clinton Crime Family Foundation (i heard hundreds of millions). All to support our ISIS, the enemy of America.

No previous President had generated such a large Arms Sale - not even to our Allies, let alone our enemies.

Cancelled all NASA Manned Space Vehicle Missions. Only President since 1959 to do so, now relying upon Russia, China, or Timbuktu to taxi us around.

More of his fellow criminals freed to commit more crimes.

As the only self-professed drug dealer to ever be elected President, Bobo has made history by granting a record number of 78 Pardons and 153 Commutations in one day to his fellow drug dealers, at least mostly, according to him. He claims it is his mission to Pardon as many of these criminals before he leaves office - maybe he hopes to get better discounts from them following his reign in the White House.

Do you expect this will improve under Trump?
