Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

Why is it that the only way you can formulate a response is by mis-stating what Signy posts? Do you have a problem with reading, or is it with honesty?

"This coming from the person who says she has to depend on Putin Media for her news."

No, she says she depends on Russia media for PART of what she analyzes to try to figure out what's going on.

Fortunately, I can piece together whatever is in French and Spanish. I can scan the headlines in German, at least, to see what they're talking ABOUT. Unfortunately, I have to rely on translators to tell me about the rest. But I do the best I can ... I do look at the English-language version Xinhua, and Novosti, and the Straits Times, for example. I have the Kyiv Post and the BBC on my list of sites that I scan regularly. Even if I don't have time to read the articles, it's important to know what's making it into the news ... what's being forwarded by each nation's MSM. It's a good indication of what's being covered, and -more importantly- what's NOT being covered. Seeing what's in their media is a good indication of policies to come.

I'll leave it to you to try and pretend what you claim Signy posted is anything like what Signy actually posted.

And, to answer my question to you - your problem is with honesty.

That definitely explains the warped pov.

Yes, thank you for entirely mis-characterizing what I wrote. In fact, you lied here too ...

I noticed you haven't responded to that, and I doubt that you can respond rationally here either. My god, when did it get so personal to you that you lost all sense?

I said he was PANDERING to Nazis, you fool. This had all to with how much power Nazis had in Ukraine, not whether Yats himself was a Nazi. And being onstage with a Nazi means he was pandering to them.

It's like a politican in the USA being onstage with a well-known KKK representative. What would YOU conclude, if such a thing happened?

The Lucian Kim article accuses the Crimea documentary of insinuation, montage, distortion, and claiming (false) things as 'facts' without supporting evidence.

You posited that Kim's article was leaving out supporting evidence that was actually in the documentary. I invited you to watch the documentary and locate this evidence, if it exists.

Lucian Kim wrote an article about a video that none of us had access to, dismissing but not describing a video which we couldn't either refute or validate, either by access to HIS words or by access to the video itself.

Someone (you?) provided a link. I watched it. It was 15 minutes long, it had an "ep 1" somewhere on the video, and (except for the teaser about Crimea) it was all about rescuing Yanukovich. If you have a link to the whole thing, great. If not, STFU about it until it's aired.

And then posted:

I didn't say (and didn't mean to imply) that Yats is a closet Nazi. What I DID intend to show... and the person with whom Yats in onstage, Nazi salute or otherwise makes the point .... is that Yats is PANDERING to Nazis. And politicians don't pander to powerless groups.

So, selective quoting is now your way of misrepresenting other people in order to manage a repopnse?

What would YOU takes as 'objective evidence'? Some blog by somebody? An editorial in a mainstream paper? A claim by Obama? By Putin? A single-source news article that gets quoted, repeated and cited in 20 different msm media sources (as long as you cite more than one of them)?

I'll take the same evidence SignyM seems to ask for any time someone posts anything critical of Russia. Ask her what level of proof she demands.

I already addressed that, I guess you didn't see how it applied. This is how I view the news.

That applies to the US media as well as foreign media. Until you get a much wider world view, it's hard to see how your limited your own media is.

So, YOU have no opinion? I don't want to be posting links and have you objecting to them with some new-found judgments. Speak now or forever void your option to dismiss my links.

No, what you actually, really, without post editing or post fudging said, word for word, was:
""Yats", the Prime Minister of Ukraine, giving the traditional Nazi salute." ""Yats", the Prime Minister of Ukraine, giving the traditional Nazi salute." -GSTRING

And yet, somewhere in there, I failed to say he was a Nazi.
Huh!
Well, I'm sure the misinterpretation is at your end. It always is.

Oh, just as an FYI I wanted to address YOU, MAL4.

NOT because of me? Are you sure that's what you intended to say?

Yes, before Putin ever came up, actually. So the reason why you got so tweaked and weird wasn't because of Putin or some newly-discovered love of Russia on my part, but specifically what I did at that time. NOT PUTIN. I just felt I needed to interrupt that thought that was springing up in your brain.

In fact, I even told you what it was. But you're so stuck on Putin, I'll bet that you don't even remember what it was.

Quote:

I called her on it and she admitted that she was doing things "differently." Didn't give details, but I figure that, for some reason, she had to give up her old shtick of tweaking Rap's tail.
SO, NOT PUTIN.

Her new thing is more fun, imho, though only in small doses. ;)
MAL4, I have no idea what happened to you. Are you OK?
