Gee, how'd this slip under the radar ?

Sadly, the 18 month investigation into the IRS targeting of conservative groups isn’t over, and it may be worse than anyone thought. A federal judge has broken loose more emails that the DOJ had surely hoped would never surface. The picture it reveals isn’t pretty. The documents prove that Lois Lerner met with DOJ’s Election Crimes Division a month before the 2010 elections.

It has to be embarrassing to the DOJ, which may not be the most impartial one to be investigating the IRS. In fact, the DOJ withheld over 800 pages of Lerner documents citing “taxpayer privacy” and “deliberative privilege.” Yet these internal DOJ documents show Ms. Lerner was talking to DOJ officials about prosecuting tax-exempt entities (yes, criminally!) two years before the IRS conceded there was inappropriate targeting.

Ms. Lerner met with top officials from the DOJ’s Election Crimes Branch in October of 2010. Although Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the DOJ (Judicial Watch v. Department of Justice, No. 14-cv-01239), the DOJ coughed up dirt only on court order. Even then, the DOJ handed over only two pages of heavily redacted emails.

How oong before some libtard here posts that nothing was found, no investigation was needed, the facts don't exist, and give a link or "cite" from the MSM to "prove" their gibberish?
Did you expect the MSM to report the news items like this?

Let's not forget these classic gems...

' All that $ was wasted investigating a witch hunt'

or

Reagan, Bush41 and Bush43 ALL did EXACTLY the same thing, and no one on the Right ever whined about those

Wasn't all of Obama's crimes committed by Bush?

The Internal Revenue Service has admitted that it has thousands of documents pertaining to requests made by the Obama White House for the tax documents of individuals and businesses. That's thousands of possible felony crimes committed.

Only it's better than that... When Bush commits such " crimes", they amount to the level of jay walking , and the Left screams bloody murder. Then Obama commits grand theft auto, and barely anything is heard from the Left. All they'll say is " But Bush did it too ", and then ignore the hypocrisy of how much they vilified Bush for doing 1/10th of what Obama does.

I read the article, and there's just no "there" there.

The IRS has a tax code for tax-exempt organizations, which have to meet certain requirements in order to achieve and maintain their tax-exempt status. This would include charities, churches, the NFL, trade organizations, unions etc.
http://www.irs.gov/Charities-&-Non-Profits/Types-of-Tax-Exempt-Org
anizations

What is very clear is that political organizations are NOT tax exempt, just like the donations that go to them are NOT tax deductions.

Surely, there are organizations which claim tax exempt status which which engage in non-exempt activities.

Would it then not be proper and necessary for the IRS to investigate and prosecute such organizations?

Would they not need to coordinate with the DoJ in order to conduct investigations and prosecutions?

All I'm reading .... and ALL that I'm reading ... is that the IRS was in contact with the DoJ about investigating tax exempt organizations. That is well within their purview of enforcing their regulations. I'd feel the same way, and say the same thing, if the IRS was suspected of investigating left-wing organizations (which it did during this time period BTW)

You guys... making such a fuss about nothing. This belongs in the "Russia Invades Ukraine" thread. Show me something worth getting excited about.

Does this mean that Barry's and his buds have to find someone to throw under the bus? Now that Republican control the Senate, and padded their numbers in the House, the Dems may say, "someone start the bus."

Talk about pointless, ZIT.

Go back to eating your warm bagel - with cream on top.

Sig - Lookie at you! Trying ever so hard to whistle past the grave yard, and pretend " nothing to see here ! Move along ! "

Truly pathetic.

You don't know what those emails contained, do you ?

Why did Lerner plead the 5th, but THEN give a very public fluff piece interview w/ Politico ?

Oh, and we've since clearly shown that it wasn't " some rogue employee in the Cincinnati office " , but directions to target TEA party groups was from right there in D.C. , at the very top.

Again, a video of Lerner meeting w/ Obama , in the WH, strategizing how to block Americans from their rights as citizens STILL would never convince you.

You cannot say that Obammy committed felony crimes. He is Da Black Prezzdent. If you posit that Da Black Preezzy of Da Steezzy committed felony crimes, that makes you a racist. You cannot accuse a Black person of crimes he has committed, because that would be racist. You must just understand that Black Men cannot resist the compelling need to commit crime, and just let them commit all the crimes they desire, otherwise you are racist.

I didn't. We won't know who inside the WH asked for them and who at the IRS gave all those returns until a judge orders the documents released.
