Yesterday, Michael Bociurkiw, spokesman for the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), made it absolutely plain that it was the Ukrainian government offensive that halted access to the crash site. Speaking in Donetz, he said: “We’ve been dealing with the [pro-Russian] separatists for three months and since the crash happened we’ve had access every day until this [fighting].”

Bociurkiw said both sides had been clearly informed of what the investigative team was trying to achieve and given precise details of intended route movements, who was in the cars and the vehicles’ number plates. “There’s no excuse for anyone not to know the stakes in this. They are huge. One third of the passengers’ bodies are still out there. There’s a lot of debris there.”

Dutch PM asks Ukraine to stop fighting near crash site
Quote:

The Hague (AFP) - Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte called Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko Tuesday to ask Ukrainian forces to stop fighting around the MH17 crash site, a government spokesman said.
"The prime minister this morning called the Ukrainian president with a request to halt hostilities around the crash site," Jean Fransman told AFP, after fighting with pro-Russian separatists prevented international investigators reaching the site for a third day. Poroshenko told Rutte he would do everything possible to allow investigators access, Fransman said.

"Rutte expressed his concern about the fact it appeared the investigators may today yet again not reach the site," Fransman said. "This is important because we want to get to the crash site as quickly as possible to get the victims and bring them home. Mr Poroshenko said that he will do everything possible to make access possible."

The Ukrainian military confirmed early Tuesday that violence was still raging.

"Pockets of insurgents are continuing to fire on Ukrainian positions from the towns of Snizhne, Torez and Shakhtarsk," it said, referring to towns within about 30 kilometres (18 miles) of the site. The fresh conflict came a day after rebels admitted Kiev had regained control over part of the vast site, where the remains of some of the 298 victims from the MH17 crash still lie 12 days after the disaster.

Kiev would not confirm the rebels' claim, saying only that its troops had entered a string of towns around the scene.

But how can we blame Ukraine for the landmines the Russian Invasion force are planting around the crash site?
With the Russian Special Forces laying the mines to keep out the investigators, we cannot allow anybody to think it isn't being done by Ukraine. How will we be able to fool any gullible libtards?

Oh, nevermind. Plenty of gullible fools here.

Perhaps the Russian Invasion Force can use this ruse to have unfettered launchings of Russian military weapons against Ukraine while claiming protection behind the pretense of "protecting the investigators" or similar BS.
OOps. Too late, already happening.

Oh, that's right. There ARE no Russian soldiers anywhere in Ukraine. Because soldiers wearing Russian military gear , sans Russian insignia , simply CAN'T be Russians!

The rebels had their chance to do the right thing. The integrity of the crash site has been destroyed and the Ukrainians have to continue with taking there country back from the Russian insurgents.

"KIEV, Ukraine — An international team of investigators abandoned efforts to reach the crash site of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 in eastern Ukraine for a fourth day Wednesday because of heavy fighting, and a Ukrainian official said approaches to the area have been mined.

Military spokesman Andriy Lysenko predicted that sometime “soon,” the Ukrainian army would oust the pro-Russian separatist rebels who currently control the fields and towns where the debris is scattered. But even then, he said, investigators will not be able to visit the site until the mines, which he said have been laid by rebels, can be cleared."

International observers in eastern Ukraine have turned back from the crash site of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, after pro-Russian separatists once again prevented them entering the area.

European officials said after discussions with the rebels at the site, the observers from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe returned to their base in the city of Donetsk.

Not mines, but blocked by Separatists:

“Unfortunately, the Russian-backed separatists who control the area continue to block the investigation. They’ve repeatedly prevented international investigators from gaining full access to the wreckage,” including by firing their weapons into the air when the teams approached the site, Obama charged.

“These separatists are removing evidence from the crash site,” the president said. “Moreover, these Russian-backed separatists are removing bodies from the crash site, oftentimes without the care that we would normally expect.”

That's 5 - how many do you want?

Clearly 5 is not enough. Also I did not see one which clearly explained that the Russian Special Forces fire on the Ukrainians, prompting them to fire in defense, whereupon unbiased neutral pro-communist MSM report that Ukraine is waging war unprovoked. I didn't find the links myself, but it's not like an unbiased reader like Siggy is gonna find any.

This is another one of those fantasies that just won't die.

YES, there are foreign volunteers in East Ukraine. They come from all over, including Chechnya, Moldova, Belarus, and Russia.

NO, there are no Russian regulars in East Ukraine. Somebody posted one clip once of five or six guys who looked exceptionally well-trained and who worked as a unit. Spec ops? Maybe. Russian? Maybe.

BUT MOST of the people fighting in East Ukraine are just locals, with no training.

Why don't you put that Russian troop fantasy in the same place with Saddam's WMD fantasy, and sink it in the ocean somewhere?

Hmmm... let's look at the bias of the articles you posted, and your inscrutable comment. First, your comment ...

I have no idea what this is supposed to mean. The sentence is almost as scrambled as your comment about children whose heads are in transparent ballot boxes.

Select to view spoiler:

You mean that Russia did not arrange referenda in Eastern Ukraine with guns to the heads of children in transparent ballot boxes? http://www.fireflyfans.net/mthread.aspx?bid=18&tid=58405

First of all... what are you trying to say? And, does it matter? Because even you apparently can't find any links to it in the corrupted inet world, so apparently nobody wants to put their name on THIS little beauty... except you!

Quote:

First OSCE investigators to the scene retreat after hour-long standoff with armed separatists who fired warning shots
Let's look at the whole sentence attached, 'mkay?

Quote:

He denied that the observers had been fired at by pro-Russian rebels, but said one gunman fired shots into the air, seemingly to scare off some civilians.
Further, he called the rebels "impolite, and unprofessional".

Quote:

Bociurkiw [the same official who complained about Kiev later] said the OSCE intended to visit the site again on Saturday and spend the whole day there. "We unfortunately could not get much done today because of the behaviour of the armed individuals and the lack of access," he said. He said the team could not find anyone to talk to about the airliner's black box, and that it was not clear who was in charge of the territory where the airliner crashed.
"The crash site is a very large area and there may be more than one group who holds sway over that area," he said. He added that while the bodies had not been touched - they seemed to be lying where they fell, personal possessions appeared to have been arranged in piles as if "for show". [but not looted] Some of the bodies showed early signs of decomposition.
"As for observing close up the wreckage of the Boeing 777 that was very difficult. The armed guards did not allow us very much leeway to leave the roadway and look at the wreckage," he said.

So OSCE has access to the roadway, but not to the fields. That's been established already... the rebels gave OSCE partial access to the site. As time went on, and the official investigators were delayed and delayed, the OSCE observers (who are primarily military intelligence for Kiev) were given further and further access.

Quote:

[Obama said] They’ve repeatedly prevented international investigators from gaining full access to the wreckage,” including by firing their weapons into the air when the teams approached the site, Obama charged.
I think we already covered that one. That's not what the OSCE said. Obama spouts nonsense for breakfast and blows propaganda for dinner.
Quote:

“These separatists are removing evidence from the crash site,” the president said.
As far as I can tell, unsupported allegation.
Quote:

“Moreover, these Russian-backed separatists are removing bodies from the crash site, oftentimes without the care that we would normally expect.”
But was good enough for Dutch observers, who said they did "a hell of a job in a hell of a place".

What Obama says and what the team on the ground says are two different things, and personally, I'll believe the team on the ground.

The VOA article, note the date- Jul 30
Quote:

Ukraine [Kiev] has announced a one-day halt in its fight against separatists in eastern Ukraine to allow international investigators to reach the downed Malaysian airliner's crash site. Kyiv said the move Thursday was in response to a plea by United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to stop fighting near the crash site.
So Kiev FINALLY arranged a temporary truce... something the rebels have been asking for since the day after the crash... AFTER the investigators AND the Malaysian and Dutch PMs AND the UN complained TO KIEV. Wow, mighty white of them!

As for the WaPo article about "heavy fighting" and "mines" blocking access... It takes two to fight. The rebels have already asked for a cease fire many times to allow investigators to the scene. But if they lay down their weapons without a cease fire, Kiev forces will simply roll in on the heels of the investigators. It would be military suicide to allow that. KIEV needs to agree to a cease-fire.

------------------

So, the facts, as can be established, is that OSCE monitors have had partial access to the crash site since the beginning, progressively more and more as the official investigative team was delayed. The body recovery team had access to the bodies (which had been recovered in a "hell of a job in a hell of a site") and the site. And the official investigating team has been held up - first in Kiev, then in Donetsk - by fighting, which Kiev finally stopped after everybody and their mother appealed to Poroshenko.

The rest, as far as I can tell, is just so much blah - blah- blah.

Did I get that right?
