HERO

As someone who has recently discovered my native American heritage and now find myself unsure of where to direct my well wishes and/or anger this holiday season, I want to first wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving.

And now I curse all of you for the murder of my ancestors and the theft of our land.

Enjoy your turkey, I hope you all choke on it. Be grateful for the blessing God has given you this year, know that the great spirit will lead my people to vengence upon you. Give thanks for your health, I hope you sicken and die. Give thanks for your continued prosperity, prosperity stolen by theft and murder. Give thanks for your children and have hope for the future...a future where someday my people will rise up and reclaim what is ours by driving you back into the sea from which we all came in peace seeking a better life and religeous freedom in this great and free land you stole.

And don't get me started on yams you white heathen murderers.

Seriously, Happy Thanksgivng. (I note for the record that the official holiday was Civil War in origin...by Republican Abraham Lincoln who proclaimed that turkey and Dallas Cowboys football would forever be used to give thanks for the freeing of the slaves and their subsequent enslavement to the welfare state and the Democratic Party...seriously, its in the proclamation...look it up).

Horray! Death and gluttony, my favourite things!

Side note: you really have Native American ancestry?

My hubby does, and ironically I have an ancestor that was a locally famous Indian fighter.

I figure that's why Thanksgiving should be important in our house, and also why we have such incredible bad luck from time to time... Curse of Romeo and Juliet

Yanno, one benefit of having ancestors who would quite literally hump anything that moved is being able to lay claim to a smidgen of just about ANY ancestry, even some you'd really rather not.

Oh, and here's a novel thought - those jerks who wanna secede so bad, tellya what, you get enough signatures to convince us you don't wanna be part of the USA, how bouts we give your state BACK to the native americans we jacked it from and let you negotiate with THEM.

Oh my, the mere thought of the consequences of that one will entertain me for DAYS now...

Happy Day. Eat lots of turkey and inappropriately sugared vegetables and whatever else weird things that go with the occasion.

I think if we don't have mixed feelings about American history we aren't normal, there's a lot of awful stuff that happened and it was bad and wrong. But at the same time we're here and I don't think that will change, where would we go now? Things aren't black and white in history, they're gray and weird and troublesome.

Hoping all the Americans here had a good one, I did. I don't eat candied yams myself, they're whacked. But I love green bean casserole.
