Has nothing to do with "people who disagree with you", that typical accusation. My dislike of Whatzit, personally, is that his posts frequently don't make sense, are objectionable, atrocious and vituperatively vicious. I have no problem with people who disagree with me and I enjoy a good debate. It's impossible to communicate with, much less debate, Whatzit--he just fires off whatever insane obscenities come to mind.

I kinda doubt he's gone forever. I would ADORE some civil, reasonable Republicans or conservatives or whatever here with whom we could have rational discussions. There is so much ugliness toward liberals, parroted Faux News "talking points" and absolutely CLOSED minds, that I've long since given up hope.

One simple example: Nowhere in this recent violence has America "apologized" to anyone, as far as I know. One message was sent out condemning the "movie" in question, which certainly deserved condemnation. Yet we can't even communicate with Raptor, because he keeps insisting we apologized...for something. How do you converse with someone like that? And Whatzit has ALWAYS been even worse, at least in the years I've been here--literally THE worst when it comes to politics. The only poster I've ever seen who's worse was--shit, I forget his name--but his shots were PERSONAL, not as much political.

That's where I stand. It seems to me, personally, that those tossing out the cracks about "people who disagree with you" are usually those on the right, tho' I've never figured out why. They certainly hate US sufficiently, but I don't think in EITHER case it's merely about disagreeing politically. Or not. Your mileaege may vary.

Ok, flippancy aside, I actually really enjoy being disagreed with. I'm all for a good debate. But i wouldn't describe whozit and rap this way. It's not that they disagree. It's that they lack any kind of coherency, but seem all about their fragile little egos and need for attention. I'm not sad to see anything like that go.

But like niki, I'll believe it when I see it. if the polls reverse and Romney doesn't look so out of it, whozit will be back. Though I doubt that will happen.

I don't really have a problem with whozits. A board always needs its people who go off the rails in an argument. I know that whozits has insulted some people, but the worst whozits has ever called me is a liberal, and liberal/conservative are fairly meaningless concepts to me.

I don't know why he's leaving, but that is the choice all of us have probably made one time or another. Really, my only objection is that he's announced it. I can understand a rage quit, I've done it plenty of times myself. I've even announced it before, but I usually delete that later, because it always looks kinda unnecessary in retrospect. And definitely never made a thread specifically for that. It's not like people are going to beg someone to stay.

I've been playing doom on my new ipad. The controls are much better than the keyboard-based stuff of the original game, but my head might explode at the incongruity of it all. Holy shit, compare this to the computers I had in the early 90s!
