I wouldn't mind a cite on Romney having dodged the question about Jersusalem on CNN either. Certainly in Israel he was loud enough that Jerusalem is the "capital", and it seems a perfect line to take with Jewish voters, so unless it's one of his usual flip-flops, I can't imagine him dodging it.

On the other hand, his statements about the rightness of a pre-emptive strike on Iran by Israel is, in my opinion, a dangerous remark he should have avoided!

No, seriously, what's sad is to see that you need to cling onto a quote I made to one of your less political posts a sign of approval that you usually don't get around here due to your blind partisanship. You are a political idiot, an emotional wreck, and needy loser to boot. You calling peeps 'children' when you are acting childish is a hoot. Really, really and seriously, you are fucked up and should seek mental help, and if you're just here playing with us... you should seek mental help. And if you're paid by someone to fuck with us and you see no problem with your career, you should seek mental help.
Basically, you should seek mental help.
So, hold onto my quote, it's a badge of honour, it's also a sign THAT YOU NEED MENTAL HELP.

EDITED TO ADD: BTW, this is coming from a needy loser in a totally different aspect of life, which is how I can so readily recognize your sorry state.

Uhm, the story that I have in my mind about you is that you're struggling to be an ethical, honorable person in a world that only values money, and thinks everything else is a weakness. But I consider that the world's problem when people like little cRappy find ample support and people like you don't. Also, I value your perspective. FWIW my POV.

Well, far be it from me to discount what you say. As difficult as it is for me to wrap my head around, I will endeavor my hardest to take you at your word, even though I really don't see it. Though I have to say that if you want me to believe you're a jerk it would help if you do something very jerk-like here, or recount something very jerk-like you've done elsewhere.

BTW are you a vegetarian? Are you getting enough B12?

From experience I can relate that two people in my family had B12 deficiency after the age of 40, and I've flirted with it myself. They acted rather mentally slow and angry. I've had some scary memory and attention problems. Lack of B12 can lead to odd cognitive and personality glitches that have nothing to do with your ethics and everything to do with your brain shorting out.

Past the age of 50 about 1/3 of people can't absorb B12 in sufficient amounts to stay healthy (in my family the cut-off seems to be younger). That percentage goes up as people age. Lack of B12 destroys the brain in a permanent way, and eventually results in something that looks like dementia. Some studies have even shown that this is a significant enough problem that the rate of irreversible 'dementia' could be cut in half by simply supplementing B12. So it's not something to be trifled with b/c it can and does cause serious brain problems for many people.

But if you take a megadose (thousands of times higher than daily requirement) sublingual B12 some will pass directly through the skin under your tongue into your blood stream, and make up the shortfall.

BTW I have looked assiduously many times over the years for any problem related to too much B12 and found none. But see if you can get just B12 without other B vitamins, as too much B6 sometimes seems to cause insomnia.

So overall, taking megadose sublingual B12 alone might help, and it can't hurt.

Well, on other topics little Rappy seems to be normal. So it's not a generalized neuro-chemical state with him that he carries wherever he goes.

I think he got dumped by a GF who was liberal. I think he can't admit a liberal might be right about something b/c it would mean that not only did she hurt him but she WON b/c she was RIGHT. He's not arguing against us here, he's arguing against her. That's why he's so angry and emotional.

I also think he's so emotionally immature, so ego-challenged and so intellectually dishonest that he has not got a single tool in his mental drawer to get past it the way other people would find a way to get past it.

I've got a very fine line when it comes to B6. There's fine, and then there's very NOT fine, and it's a difference of one or two drops of the sublingual stuff that marks the dividing line between the two states. Too much Niacin, and I'm screwed for about 30 minutes: flushing, turning bright red, vertigo, dizziness, nausea, heart palpitations, constricted airways reminiscent of an asthma attack, tingling of the skin, etc.

I've learned to be quite careful with the sublingual B vitamins!

I'm not sure about your theory, but "I also think he's so emotionally immature, so ego-challenged and so intellectually dishonest that he has not got a single tool in his mental drawer to get past it the way other people would find a way to get past it" is right on, as far as I'm concerned. And yes, I agree that on topics outside politics he's quite different...maybe it's just a one-issue brain fart or something...

That B12 thing might be worth looking into; if it would help, heck, I'll try it! I did, however, find some negative effects of overdosing: "Large doses of B12 can cause anxiety, nervousness, dizziness and incoordination. ( http://www.livestrong.com/article/315382-negative-side-effects-of-b12-
vitamins/#ixzz23Lz2gXSL
)

"If you take too much B-12 there are indeed side effects. I took too much for awhile and became EXTREMELY dizzy and even had a few bouts of vertigo." ( http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080526123615AAz3cce)

"When it comes to B12 side effects, people should be very cautious and talk to a doctor if they have the following signs:
¦Anxiety
¦Fatigue
¦Insomnia
¦Heart Palpitation
¦Tingling

If these signs occur, it is important that you see a doctor immediately to avoid B12 toxicity, which can lead to blood clots or other dangers to your body." ( http://www.naturalcuresmentor.com/b12-overdose/)

I think I'll be cautious about how much I take, but will try it anyway. Thanx.

Goodbye, kind world (George Monbiot) - In common with all those generations which have contemplated catastrophe, we appear to be incapable of understanding what confronts us.

Just a note about 4 specific B vitamins

Vitamin B12 - Cobalamin

Among other metabolic pathways, B12 is needed to make RNA. RNA is the messenger from the nucleus used to make protein. Since the brain very actively make proteins - forming, breaking down and reforming synapses - a deficiency of B12 hobbles the brain in very basic ways.
B12 deficiency can also cause problems with creation of new blood cells causing a type of anemia called megaloblastic anemia.

Vitamin B6 - Pyridoxine

B6 is needed in many processes including RNA synthesis and DNA synthesis. DNA synthesis is important when your cells divide and need to make up a whole extra set of DNA. Since your brain cells don't divide (all that much) they don't need as much DNA and so they don't need as much B6. But your bone marrow very actively creates a constant stream of new cells, and so a deficiency of B6 will show up first in the blood, also causing megaloblastic anemia.

Folic acid/ folate

This is the spina bifida vitamin.

Niacin B3 - either nicotinic acid or nicotinamide

Niacin in VERY high doses compared to daily requirements can cause vasodilation (flushing), reduced LDL cholesterol synthesis and increased HDL synthesis as a desirable side effect. It can also raise your blood sugar and uric acid as undesirable side effects.
Nicotinamide doesn't cause flushing or change cholesterol biochemistry, and may be toxic to the liver at more than 3 grams/ day.
'No flush' niacin Inositol hexanicotinate in megadoses is also more highly associated with liver damage than regular niacin and doesn't seem to improve lipid profiles.

It used to be thought that you couldn't 'overdose' on the B vitamins, b/c they're water-soluble and you would just pee out the excess. However, very large doses of some B vitamins have been associated with negative side effects.

B6 toxicity has been associated with neuropathy ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitamin_B6#Toxicity) and some people say it makes them insomniacs. Various forms of niacin at more than a gram per day have been associated with liver damage. Folate doesn't seem to be associated with toxicity, but does seem to lead to an increased cancer rate.

Because B12 is so poorly absorbed either sublingually or through the stomach, deficiencies were treated with B12 injections, where 100% of the megadose was absorbed. There have been no reported cases of B12 poisoning. "Vitamin B12 poisoning is so rare and the substance considered so nontoxic that a maximum daily dosage limit does not exist for the vitamin, according to the eMedTV website." http://www.livestrong.com/article/492972-b12-poisoning/#ixzz23N30OTKL But, as always, your mileage may vary.
