Yeah, I'm as guilty as the next guy--maybe moreso as I've been pulled back into responding to his idiocy, BUT:

In the last TWO HOURS, only six threads have been posted in. Of those six threads, FIVE of them:

Bully
Obama Gay...
Obama Makes it Official.....
Maybe Niki's right.....
The Left's ongoing...

Have been arguments WITH Raptor or people talking ABOUT Raptor or Raptor arguing with others...

Only one, "War on Babies", has escaped. ONE. In two hours.

Don't you think it's time to have an intervention here; something to break us of the RaptorAddiction which is going on in RWED? I sure do. Okay, so he says stupid stuff. He lies, then persists in claiming he didn't. He makes stuff up. He doesn't cite facts or make sensible arguments. He makes you want to call him out. He makes you want to state what's REAL. HE LURES YOU IN...

And we BUY INTO IT! It's time to STOP, don'tcha think? Recognize what's an absurd waste of time and what's not, and who's here to communicate and who's NOT, just here for attention. You gotta know he's gleefully skipping from thread about/to him to thread about/to him, giggling all the way, loving it.

To be fair, Nikki, you scold us for going around with Rappy fairly regularly - but get caught up doin the same yourself pretty often.

That said - I was serious in my prior post. Why not just we all ignore him for a while. No "dictatoryship" to use bignobody's hyperbolic term - just ignore him. He has made it clear that he's uninterested in actual conversation (and I, for my part, am uninterested in conversation with him anyway). How much fun will he really have talking with no one but "hero," whozit, geezer and BDN?

Of the threads you listed, I only started 2. Others, I stayed away from, for the most part, until much had already been said. Only the 'Obama makes it official', did I add my 2 cents in, sorta kinda early on. Just like everyone else.

Do I wish I could post something / anything, with out folks taking personal pot shots at me,first ? Yep. But it seems no matter what I say, how 'on issue' I tend to be, I get vilified.

And Niki, you only have yourself to blame. YOU got so tweaked up over the Obama 'god' nonsense, which was something I only replied to Kwickie over something he said in the first place. THEN I was proven right, which you even said.... well, I won't replay that all over again. We know how that's played out.

I wish people paid as much attention to me as they pay Raptor. Of course I prefer positive attention, but sometimes when one is feeling down any attention is better than none at all. My niece, will be 2 in June, is at the stage where negative attention is better than no attention so she throws fits to get attention, negative, from her parents. We tell them to just ignore her and she'll stop, because she isn't getting her attention needs met by screaming, its typical behavior for her age bracket. But they don't listen and yell at her, which is counterproductive.

I don't know how conspiratorial Raptor's attention getting tactics actually are, but he certainly presents as someone who likes being contrary just to be contrary. Again I've got to think of some clever attention getting strategies, that lure everyone in like flies to honey but that don't result in people being mean to me. Picky I know. :)

Pizmo, as far as I can remember, Raptor is the only person I keep trying not to engage, and yes, I fail, he's very good at what he does, but at least I TRY.

Story, you cute thing you, I don't believe I EVER denied that I get caught up pretty often. That's part of why I pulled myself up sharply and thought "Jayzus, you're doing it again, right along with the rest of them!" Like I said, I TRY.

Actually, Riona, I'm not that clever. I really do believe what I'm saying, and am simply trying to add my 2 cents into the conversation. Niki seems to think that it's impossible for ANY one to have the views I have, which really aren't extreme in the least. I'm quite middle of the road, by most respects. Maybe it's the tone in which I respond to some here, but hey... you throw rocks at me, I'm gonna respond in kind, and maybe a little more. ( Not that YOU, Riona, would throw rocks... )
