HuffPost has the Romney campaign commercial with Romney using the phrase "Keep America American", so it's not like MSNBC is making it up.

Since no one pays attention to the KKK , not for the past 50 years or so, leave it to the far Left to try to make some tired, old , irrelevant connection to Mitt Romney, a NE moderate, and the past long since forgotten.

Seems to me that the Left WANTS to keep racism alive, as long as possible, just to have one more thing to bitch about.

Not really. The left just wants to remind you that it never died. You can deny it, believe that it's a dead issue because it doesn't touch you, but that says a hell of a lot more about you than it does about racism.

Hey, hey, hey, don't be mean. We don't have to be mean, because, remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

So, Rappy, when you were claiming I was a racist for not supporting Herman Cain... were you just being desperate, and looking for one more thing to bitch about?

And what about when Cain himself tried to claim racism in the whole mistresses-and-harassment-victims fiasco? Just trying to keep it alive to have something to bitch about?

I know you like to believe that the KKK is long gone and now forgotten, but your own party had a former Grand Wizard run for Governor of Louisiana not too long ago. He was elected a state representative as a Republican, and ran for President in '92 as a Republican as well.

Ancient history, the 90s.

So can we all agree that Reagan is long dead and should be best forgotten as well, as part of ancient history?

Hey Quicko, do they seriously call KKK leaders Grand Wizards? I don't know how to respond to that idea ... whoa? That's kind of funny.

Yeah, Riona, they really do. Pretty grandiose of them, I think, and as for the "wizard" part... well, I haven't seen much in the way of magic from these folks, although they do seem to be able to turn some people into white trash!

Hello,

I think Gandalf the White was the first Grand Wizard, and he organized the movement against the Orcs. But once the Orcs were vanquished, the movement took a dark turn.

Hee, hee, hee; cute, Anthony. But I agree; this is stupid and reaching. Yeah, racism's still alive, so is the KKK (but it's just a bunch of pathetic racists these days, as opposed to ractist with real power, seems to me). I find it more xenophobic than racist, personally, since there's now an ad out pushing less LEGAL immigration, too. We're a land of immigrants, but that doesn't matter to the right these days. Nonetheless, this one is too far a reach for me to pay it much attention.

I'm still laughing myself silly about the grand wizard thing, so so so grandios, like they actually have some sort of real power. Talk about cult, because we're not in a fantasy novel boys, and if we were, you guys would be the bad guys who lose in the end because the goodguys always win in the end of fantasy novels.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Actually, Saruman was the first White Wizard, if you recall your LOTR correctly. It was he who was swayed by the power of Mordor to take that dark turn.

But per the link, the slogan in question goes back to the 1920's, which shows you just how desperate and petty the Left is to stir up controversy where none exists.

Does racism exist ? Sure. Probably always will as long as there are humans. But no one group of people lay claim to being more racist than any other, just as no one group is any smarter or dumber.

Hell, the fact that no one from the Romney camp even thought such a slogan may have had its origins in ancient KKK propaganda actually goes to show just how dead and buried it was. Until the Leftists, scared to debate real issues, did their best TMZ impression to phony up this issue.

Hello,

White Wizard, yes. Grand Wizard, no.

Saruman lost his eligibility for the Hall of Fame when he joined the Rainbow Coalition. Radagast had a chance, but he signed on with PETA.

That made Gandalf the White the first Grand Wizard of the organization.

Blame Tolkien. Their speech patterns were like that in the books, not a Peter Jackson invention. ( He screwed up the story in other areas )

Orcs were originally Elves, so there never was any chance of racial overtones, technically speaking.

Riona: You're actually not far off about the cult comment. You know the white robes and hoods of the KKK are inspired by similar outfits worn by Spanish Catholics and Inquisitors? It's true.

It's where the whole burning cross thing comes from too.

Everyone already knows that the kkk is a cult, I just thought I'd point it out because it isn't said enough out loud, those rutters.

My best friend Jennifer and I are the cult police.
