Interesting.

Here's another , though not so tricky.

TEA partier or Wall Street Occupier ?

Oh, wait. That was too easy...

Stinking up Wall Street: Protesters accused of living in filth as shocking pictures show one demonstrator defecating on a POLICE CAR.

These are the shocking scenes that have led some people to accuse the Occupy Wall Street protesters living rough in New York's financial district of creating unsanitary and filthy conditions.
Exclusive pictures obtained by Mail Online show one demonstrator relieving himself on a police car.
Elsewhere we found piles of stinking refuse clogging Zuccotti Park, despite the best efforts of many of the protesters to keep the area clean.
The shocking images demonstrate the extent to which conditions have deteriorated as demonstrations in downtown Manhattan enter their fourth week. Further pictures seen by Mail Online have been censored, as we deemed them too graphic to show.

That's the point, and why Raptor has shown himself to have not a single individual thought. He is literally INCAPABLE of giving an inch on his ideology, which says to me that he's not here for any reason other than to goad others and get attention. It's in every single post he ever puts up.

They both want some of the same things, in fact MANY of the same things, and they're both angry about almost ALL the same things. To call one people exercising their freedom of speech and the other nothing but a crazy mob is sheer, unadulterated partisan blinders. Notice he has to even carry it over here...not even addressing the title or question, just coming in to snark, snark, snark.

I got 7/9...there are just too many similarities; the differences arise in how to ACHIEVE what the two groups want. Of course, OWS hasn't SAID how they hope to achieve it, not surprising given they are an unorganized group of people and haven't (yet) been taken over by any interests with specific agendas.

Clearly, a case can be made to show that big corporations wield too much influence.

But the issues run beyond a sound bite or a single quote. The Occupiers ( love how that was used to as a derogatory term to describe US policy in Iraq / Afghanistan, but now ? Left wing protesters are owning it ) want to tear down the system, with only delusions and fantasy as the replacement. The TEA partiers, only wanted to return to sound, sensible govt, in the view the Founders had fought for.

Hmph. Like either group can get anything done with the parties attempting to hijack and stranglehold.

Neither of them will change anything. Not so long as they continue to try to work in the system, and continue to try to revert to the same document with the same flaws that landed us here in the first place.

The constitution was a good effort, but there was and always will be forces that would like to change it into something awful. The present situation was inevitable, and the fault of certain members of those founding fathers who made sure to create the loopholes that allowed this.

We can try to roll back the clock, but I think we're going to end up facing the exact same problems down the line.

Hello,

No.

I am occupying my house right now.

They are occupying their nation.

It just happens to be a part of their nation seldom visited by the victims of economic decline.

Times change, and so Wall Street became interesting to them. But surely you aren't suggesting that they lack the right to occupy their nation?

Next you'll tell me to stop occupying my house.

The Left uses specific words, intended to evoke certain thoughts and emotions. They test market and use focus groups to craft their massage. The Left started this 'occupier' stuff, back during the Iraq war. I just find it curious that they've come back and are now using it with the Wall Street babies, as well.

That you DON'T see it, or claim you don't, I find suspect.

Hello,

There is no mystery or cause for fascination. They are demonstrating that the nation belongs to them as much as to the people who have wronged them. They are demonstrating that Wall street doesn't belong merely to the financial overlords, but that they also have a right to occupy it.

They are using the term Occupation in an ironical sense that escapes you. That it should glean such a reaction from you proves the point of the irony.

You can't Occupy Wall street in the way you can Occupy Iraq, but that doesn't keep folks like you from being threatened by the concept.

The only people who see a correlation and who feel 'curious' at the language are the people who have a skewed mindset to begin with. By bringing it up, you show yourself to be the butt of their joke.

HKCAVALIER

What has happened to conservatism in this country? "Conservatism" is supposed to have something to do with traditionalism, or trying to uphold values from the past. But it has been shown that the world these tea partiers allegedly want to return to HAS NEVER EXISTED.

Instead, they long to live in the world right wing politicians have PRETENDED to promote in their two-faced campaign speeches but have NEVER followed through on. For someone like Raptor it's the last ditch effort to revise history so he doesn't have to admit that he's been lied to by conservative politicians all his life. It's like campaigning to reinstate Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy after those gotdamn libruls and their so-called "science" took 'em away! Or starting the Girl's Have Cooties Party.

At least "progressives" admit to wanting to live in a world that hasn't yet existed.

First you suggested that occupying Iraq and occupying Wall street were analogous.

Then you wrote was that 'the left' uses words designed to evoke 'thoughts and emotions.'

Finally, you suggested peripherally that you were having thoughts and emotions.

But an 'issue' was never raised?

This one's REALLY amusing, given the documented INSTRUCTIONS on how to disrupt town hall meetings, the huge number of visceral buzz words and phrases the Tea Party and Republicans utilize daily. Jeez, Raptor is such a transparent joke, why doesn't everyone catch on?

Cav, "yes" to everything you said. But I hope it wasn't addressed to Raptor, because you already know...

C'mon peeps, READ his posts in this thread. Like virtually every other post he's put up, hey're absurd to the point of idiocy. The "issue" he claims is
Quote:

But the issues run beyond a sound bite or a single quote. The Occupiers ( love how that was used to as a derogatory term to describe US policy in Iraq / Afghanistan, but now ? Left wing protesters are owning it ) want to tear down the system, with only delusions and fantasy as the replacement. The TEA partiers, only wanted to return to sound, sensible govt, in the view the Founders had fought for.
It's pure bullshit, of course, and has nothing whatsoever to do with reality. Comparing occupying Iraq with protests against Wall Street in a country which guarantees freedom of speech and assembly? Come ON!

The Tea Party has stated quite CLEARLY that they want to tear down the current system, and if secession and "second amendment solutions" (not to mention all the other crazy things they have said) don't represent delusions and fantasy, nothing does. The two factions are certainly comparable in that they've done and said crazy things, but that he can't see ANY comparison, that he's adamant that there IS no comparison, shows not that he's ideologically blind, but that HE'S DOING IT DELIBERATELY.

For one thing,
Quote:

Clearly, a case can be made to show that big corporations wield too much influence.
As far as I know, that is the ONLY actual agreed-upon thing the OWSers are protesting. It's that very influence which has created such an incredible income gap between rich and everyone else, which is connected. So they are protesting Wall Street and corporate influence--NOTHING ELSE has yet been established as what they are uniformly against. If you listen to them being interviewed, they represent all segments of society (except the ultra-wealthy, Wall Street and corporate interests), all ages, all races, and THERE HAVE BEEN NO DEMANDS, so there's no way Raptor or anyone else can pigeonhole them.

He knows that; he just knows full well that writing things which are so absurd and assinine will bring responses, and he's always right, isn't he? Then he can go on to call people names and make derrogatory comments about them...it's a GAME, people, a game played by a sad and lonely person with not enough to fill his life. Someday you guys are going to catch on, then we can ignore him and have some decent discussions without all the wasted back and forth. Someday...hey, I can dream!

By the way, I've yet to see a misspelled sign at the protests, has anyone else? Gee...I wonder what the difference is between the two crowds, if that's the case...

I didn't say they did. Rather, what I meant was that Frem's right, and this civil disobedience stuff where you protest and the cops arrest you just means you get to pay bail and either a fine or a lawyer cost. Changes nothing. And when the occupy party suggests finding candidates to support the message and donate, that also changes nothing - corporate donations far exceed anything the average member of the public can pony up.

So yeah, the Tea Party and the Occupy protests are pointless. And that would be true even if the tea party wasn't run by the status quo, and the occupiers weren't a chicken with its head cut off.

I'd like to think that our only chance at making the system we have work would be some serious campaign reforms, but you'd have to get someone into office, and as soon as a person is running for office they by necessity have to become morally compromised.

I hold out hope for the rest of you that someday you'll get honest people in office, but I doubt that day will happen. So the only way I really see to change the system is to bring it down (or maybe wait for the greed to screw it over once and for all) and start over completely. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I am.
