And no, I'm not talking about Obama...

Quote:

Laura Ingraham traced the progression of politically correct euphemisms for undocumented Democrats illegal aliens on her show today. It is only one example as to how the Democrats love to rename things in order to slip unpopular realities past the American public. It goes a little something like this:

It started with "illegal aliens" and moved on to "unlawful aliens," and then it became "illegal immigrants," then "undocumented immigrants," then "undocumented citizens," and now, if Senator Dick Durbin gets his way, they will be called "dream act students."

Note how this language reconstruction can be used against any American who opposes foreigners that illegally reside in the United States. It will go something like this: "You don't want to take away their dream do you?" or "Republicans are dream thieves."

Democrats see the opportunity to pick up a huge block of votes, and their poo-pooing of the law with ever changing labels will help them with their mission.

Dick it talking to a group of illegals. The PC term for these folks are " dreamers" , because hell,... who doesn't like to dream , right ?

So who exactly is this "illegal President" you're referring to, if not Obama?

I still love the GOP renaming "torture" to call it "enhanced interrogation". That's some Orwellian double-speak if ever there was such a thing!

Seems both sides like to rename things. Reagan called terrorists "Freedom Fighters" and "Contras" - and armed both groups to the teeth. Bush called a usurpation of civil liberties a "Patriot Act". How ironic is THAT?

There's a reason they call it "the American Dream" - you have to be asleep to believe in it! George Carlin said that. Maybe you have to be illegal to believe in it. After all, so many people have achieved "the American Dream" through their illegal acts...

You're not too bright, are you ? Ask Dick Durbin, who is telling a group of ILLEGAL immigrants that, out of this group, there may one day be a President.

Which is impossible, as ( at least under current law ) even LEGAL immigrants are ineligible to hold the office of President.

Or did you forget that tiny detail, just as did DICK Durbin ?

What the hell does that have to do w/ anything pertaining to this issue ? Oh, absolutely nothing. Of course.

Another complete red herring. Not even worth commenting on.

Many more have come here, legally, to reach their dream. Carlin was funny, but an idiot on this matter. Fact is, you have to be very much awake to achieve the dream. Leftists would appreciate it if everyone WOULD just go to sleep, and pay no attention to the destruction they're trying to do to this country.

Hopefully, the sleepers have awoken.

Ah, see - that would have been handy information to have pointed out in your post.

Assume not everyone has access to video at work. Was that something that was discussed in the video? Nothing you posted in the text said anything about it.

I suppose it's possible that one of them may one day be a president - just not of the United States. They might be a president of a corporation, or even of another country, though.

So you WEREN'T posting about how renaming things leads to changing perceptions of them?

Huh. 'Cause it really seemed like that's what you were complaining about when you typed this part:

Quote:

So are you complaining about the PC-renaming of things, or are you not complaining about it?

I was on-point when I pointed out that it's something that both sides tend to do quite a bit of. Sorry you're not able to wrap your head around such complex issues.

The subject alone should have been enough to tip anyone able to learn human speech what the topic was about.

There is such a thing as google, should something not be clear, or if you're not really sure you know what's being discussed, you can avoid any awkward misconceptions and just not reply.

But that's not stopped you before, huh?

How is that in any way commenting on the subject of the thread ?

Your petty response and ignoring of the topic has me wondering why you even bothered to post anything at all.

Dick Durbin made a blunder, and one which anyone in his position SHOULD know better than to make. In my mind, it raises many questions, as to his competence and understanding for what this country stands.

And YOU want to talk about the 'adults' on this board?

Oh, the irony.

It just cracks me up when YOU of all people talk about the ability of others "to learn human speech", especially when your posts are generally composed of so much gobbledygook.

Classic.

So yeah, trying to puzzle out what the hell you're babbling about is a bit iffy at times, especially when so much of the time you insist that what you said isn't at all what you said. You're a lot like Newtie in that respect, trying to play the "Anyone who uses my own words, in context, is lying" card.

DREAMTROVE

On a side note: republicans are idiots. Latinos make up 20% of the population. 1 in 4 latinos is an illegal. The average latino knows more than 4 latinos. Vritually all latinos know an illegal. Ergo, all latinos know someone whom the GOP would now deport.

As late as 2004, 1/2 of all latinos were republicans. Then Bush decided to deport their friends. Ergo, Obama won the election. Nothing else happened politically. Obama didn't run a great campaign. Americans weren't fed up with the fascist agenda. No one voted for change. Some total moron ticked off the nations largest swing voter group, it just happened not to be a state.

So, any latinos running for the republican nomination in 2012? No? Then they will lose.

The black vote? Let me quote a black friend of mine: "I'm a conservative Chrsitian libertarian, but most of my friends are black, and at least a quarter of my friends are in some form of public assistance. I voted for Obama because I don't want to be the asshole who threw his friends out on the street."

Until the GOP demonstrates a successful plan that actually has a real world example where it actually pays the bills for blacks, they're not getting the black vote. Meanwhile, you're hemorrhaging the vote you already had.

Dick Durbin is one of about ten dems in office I actually like. This doesn't make me like m any less.

I have some mayflower ancestors as well. I also have some holocaust ancestors. They were here because they were allowed to come here, because they came before the jew quota was put up.

If they had waited, they would have had to have been one of the 400 selected jews. If not, they would have to have come here illegally.

Of course, those mayflower and irish genocide ancestors didn't come here legally.

You cannot justify your existence as a legal american if you have a single ancestor who is neither a legal immigrant or a native american (or mayflowerer or the like)... Even many of the slaves were brought here illegally.

But one refugee from any conflict ever, and you have no right to live by your logic.

What do you want? Residency permits like they have in China and had in the Soviet Union? I'm sorry, this whole "illegals" thing is not just stupid, racist, anti-semitic... It's downright socialist and unamerican.

Hard to be illegal if your ancestry predates the country itself.

That's what a ship is, you know - it's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what a ship needs.

My late grandmother traced her family roots back to the Mayflower fleet - not the Mayflower herself, but a sister ship, the Mary and John, which arrived in the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1630. Among the passengers were the Gilletts, Jonathan and Mary (rather similar to the ship's name they arrived on, eh? How fortuitous for them!) from Chaffcombe, Somerset. They left England as part of the Great Migration, since as Protestant Lutherans they weren't exactly welcome in the Angle Isle.

The rest of the family tree all came out of Prussia and Germany, most of them fleeing during the wars of German Unification, which landed them here between 1850 and 1860. Ironically, after leaving those wars, they got here just in time for our own Civil War, whereupon great-great-grandfather Edward signed up with the Union Army and did his duty. Some of the Gilletts also fought, some with Massachusetts, and some with Wisconsin.

Some of my ancestors came over fleeing william and mary in their anti-celtic genocide in the early 18th c. I don't knwo of any illegals, but just abiut anyone will have one ancestor who was a european or african immigrant from the mid 18th to early 19th, when the US held the policy that Rap is proposing, ergol none of us would exist under his law, including, i swan, Rap himself. Or PN

They're actually just hating on people of native american extraction, a time honored tradition in america, started in Georgia, where I see the people still can't read.
