If Sarah Palin does run for president next year, at least one high profile journalist will be forbidden access to the former Alaska governor.

Speaking to Fox New's Sean Hannity in an interview to air Monday, Palin said she wants nothing to do with Katie Couric, the CBS Evening News anchor who's line of questioning facilitated one of the most memorable political foibles of the 2008 presidential campaign.

"As for doing an interview, though, with a reporter who already has such a bias against whatever it is that I would come out and say? Why waste my time? No," Palin told Hannity of Couric, according to excerpts obtained by Time's Mark Halperin.

"I want to help clean up the state that is so sorry today of journalism. And I have a communications degree. I studied journalism, who, what, where, when, and why of reporting," Palin continued. "I will speak to reporters who still understand that cornerstone of our democracy, that expectation that the public has for truth to be reported. And then we get to decide our own opinion based on the facts reported to us."

....

"So a journalist, a reporter who is so biased and will, no doubt, spin and gin up whatever it is that I have to say to create controversy, I swear to you, I will not my waste my time with her. Or him," she told Hannity in the interview Monday.

She has a communications degree? From WHERE? The right (Tea Party especially) has discovered a new tactic: ONLY speak to Fox (I mean more than before); run from any other reporter; take note of who pointed out your foibles or asked the wrong question you couldn't answer and NEVER speak to them again. Works for them...

Bet they'll keep it up. This year's crop didn't do so good and learned to run like hell, wonder what 2012's crop will do?

What if the rest of the media (except for Faux, of course) just decided not to talk to her at all?

Nikki, Do you ever have anything possitive or nice to write about? Every topic you start is a bash in some manner...what a downer, man.

So, if Sarah Palin is afraid of Katie Couric, how can we expect her to be able to stand up to foreign leaders on equal terms?

How is she suppossed to be able to handle a Putin or an Ahmahenijad(sp)if she cant handle an evening news reporter?

Freedom is Important because People are Important

Hello,

I think we all can see that Mrs. Palin is not a particularly capable candidate for a national post. She speaks well to a local audience but not to a national audience. She bizarrely abandoned her responsibilities as governor.

However, she seems to be a capable hunter, and seems to be knowledgeable about wildlife. She knows how to dress and cook an animal. She is entertaining, sometimes charming, and usually attractive.

I think her entry into the entertainment industry is the right place for her. Celebrities are always lamenting the media that puts them in pincers of love and hate. That's what she is, now. A Celebrity.

I agree Anthony.

She is textbook unelectable, as 55 plus percent of the country cant stand her...but 20 or 30 percent of an electorate might just provide the highest rated TV audience anywhere...

Well, with Putin at least, she can just holler across the Bering Strait from her house! :D

Silly question, my man; she's so obviously unqualified on much more serious grounds, that one doesn't even come into it!

I think you're right on the mark, Anthony; she's perfect for an entertainment show. Except she really should watch out for those grizzlies...no doubt they had plenty of guys with guns covering her, but again, to put a child in that place...

Nonetheless, yes, I think she'd be good for ratings, once the political stuff wears off. It will in the end, and we'll probably not get as entertaining a political figure for some time after that.
