Unusually flat day on Lake Atlantic...A recent investigative expedition onto the tower found operational solar panels beside the helo deck tower still making juice , charging the batteries , and weather data still being beamed to the mainland...despite years without any maintenance. There were fresh linens on shelves , and lots of old documents still in place since USCG abandoned the structure.
A small portable generator onboard was started right up with just the addition of fresh gasoline.
