Yeah, I had that thought, and decided to unpost. It seems fairly obvious where this is going. It's fairly disturbed. I think at this point the only solution is secession.

I did the numbers on this some time ago. The 1099 thing effectively ends all small business in america. The monopolies end all moderate to large buisinesses, leaving only megabusinesses which are in good with the govt, very Sino-Soviet of us.

The problem is, things never undo in the march towards power. The central power grows towards infinity until it collapses entirely. Here the liability is the US govt, for being hijackable.

The only thing I can think is that we deliberately encourage this kind of corruption to the extreme degree. We should also make sure that there is more money in politics. Disgraced CEOs and former felons should be touted as ideal candidates. National idiocy should be enforced to the point where there is a tax on intelligence. We should set up special drug trade routes, particularly to halls of power. It's not enough that the president be smoking crack, the whole govt. should be, from the secretary of state to the supreme court. Maybe we need more Bohemian Groves...

You see where this is leading: A govt, or any body, can only function up to a certain point, at which the inefficiencies created by its corruption cause its own ultimate collapse. This is basically what happened to the Soviet Union, and I think we should endeavor to make it happen here.

I've been reviewing various efforts by individual people to actually get things done, and what stops them. We've hit a point where I think the official power of govt. regulation is stopping absolutely everything from getting done. Regulation is stopping the clean up of the gulf oil spill, it's stopping the stopping of mountaintop removal.

I think America can recover, but I don't think it can do so as the United States.

I had this dream the other night.

The new President (whomever they are, I couldn't tell) was on T.V. next to a fire.

He was taking all these laws, ObamaCare, the Patriot Act, horrible taxes etc... reading off their names, and dumping them in the fire.

The idea being that as each burned, they were no longer laws, no longer in effect.

Each time he did it, the Congress, Senate, all of it, would cheer louder.

At the end, he said, "And now America, you are free again."

I think I've been spending too much time here, reading and watching the news, and all the rest of it.
