I find I'm ceasing to believe in the suicide bomber as a concept. I've met lots of Pakistanis. They seem quite normal to me. Nothing leads me to believe that though the ones I've known are devoutly religious, that they are any more likely to strap bombs to themselves or to believe that Allah is about to hand them 72 virgins for doing so than you or I are.

So, I take it their side attacked our side, killing 100 people or so. If we had done the bombing, it wouldn't be news, like when we killed 800 civilians in Quetta earlier, after intelligence told us there were two enemy agents somewhere in the neighborhood. (By we I mean Zardari, and by Zardari I mean Obama, via the Fusion? program.) We don't know if we got them or not. Gotta love that level of targeting.

Nobody's right when everybody's wrong. Okay, they attacked us (they hate the bhuttos a whole lot. Ergo, Zardari, and anyone who works with him) So, they attacked. But then this:

Sounds like a massive blast. Maybe they had some more complex means of delivering it, like they have rocket launchers and some such. Likely they do. More likely than a suicide bomber on a motorcycle. Jes sayin.

And it seems they're loving that targeting of the wheelchairs. Allah loves that, it's worth an extra virgin...

I was more thinking about the filter in general than the specific story. More and more I find I dismiss media catch phrases like "suicide bomber" out of hand.
