DREAMTROVE

Tragic story, I posted this the other day. There's been a lot of talk because we have coyotes here. Something's not right about this story. Coyotes won't come within 100 yards of a human, let alone a large number. I'm guessing she was attacked first. Even so, Coyotes attacking an unconsicous human is irregular. Yes, I live in a forest surrounded by coyotes, and a fair number of other things, we have wolves, even some bears, I think i'd avoid a bear, but passed that, no I don't think there's any sort of human animal interaction at all. Something about the natural order is pretty clear. Sure, cats eat mice, but the peaceable kingdom is a pretty dominant force. I don't have any fear sleeping in the woods, I've done it a lot. I'm disturbed by the idea that coyotes would attack an unconscious human. I'm ruling out all other possibilities including rabies. Maybe if she was already bleeding, but even so, they're not sharks. I suppose there's something amiss about them, and it's not just the creepy spooky howl. You don't end up as the animal spirit of the grim reaper in any culture unless something's amiss.

I grew up on a cattle farm and have interacted with coyotes for a long time...

usually it was spring, when they have run out of easy prey they were more of a problem, normally they give buildings and cattle a wide berth, unless they are starving...

I think what may be the case here is one or two coyotes had a kill and were feeding when she walked into them. Unless I'm hunting, I try to make a bit of noise while hiking... funny thing, I have spotted more wolves doing this, but from a distance... they like to know who and what is about, and I sometimes see them up on a ridgeline, or a ways down a road having a peek.

I was just thinking cougar attacks have been on the rise lately...

I wouldn't have been too surprised if this had of been a cougar attack, but it does seem out of character for coyotes...

Werewolf. Bioweaponized. Or zombified.

We have mountain lions in TN and NC now, first time in over 100 years. Big Brother is secretly releasing them, in prep for banning humans from all fed land, as they banned motor vehicles from 60-million acres this year.

"Re-wilding" they call it. Feds WANT wild predators to eat humans, to strike fear in the sheeple.

Even before the feds "allowed" humans to carry guns in national parks, for the first time this year (damn that Constitution!), I was always carrying a handgun in the woods for self defense.

A BIG can of pepper spray is what pros use when hanging out with grizzly bears, but sometimes the grizzlies eat those people, and their girlfriends.
