This list is the work of a black conservative named Lloyd Marcus.

10 — The same problems Democrats have been promising to fix for 40 years are worse.

9 — In 1950, 24% of black kids grew up without dads. In 2009, 63%. Seven out of 10 are born out of wedlock. A result of Democrat-encouraged generational government dependency.

8 — The black male high school dropout rate is 40%. Of those, 72% are jobless and 60% will probably be incarcerated. Another consequence of government replacing fathers in the home.

7 — Amid the chaos after Hurricane Katrina, Democrat congressman William Jefferson used the National Guard to get home to retrieve $90,000 suspected bribe money from his freezer while New Orleans residents were trying to get rescued from rooftops.

6 — Despite documented proof to the contrary, Democrats tell blacks the shameful lie that America is racist and their only hope is to keep electing Democrats to level the playing field.

5 — Despite high test scores by inner city black kids in the D.C. school voucher program, Democrats plan to shut it down to appease their voters in the teachers union.

4 — Democrats continually seek to lower standards. Thus, proving their bigotry of low expectations from blacks.

3 — Most blacks believe marriage should be between a man and a woman. The Democrat Party aggressively supports gay marriage and proposes stronger "hate crime" laws that include protection for pedophiles.

2 — The Democrat Party strongly supports abortion on demand, including the murderous partial birth. A disproportionate amount of aborted babies are black. 50% of black babies are aborted. Some call this Black Genocide.

And, the number one reason blacks should stop voting Democrat...INSANITY is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result!

You mean like voting Republican on the promise of lower spending and smaller government? How's that working out for you? The favorite Republican president, Reagan, increased the national debt more than ALL OF THE PREVIOUS PRESIDENTS COMBINED. And then along comes that idiotic asshole, Dubya, and more than DOUBLES THAT FIGURE.

But hey, they probably wouldn't do that again, right? Right?

And the funny thing is, while dramatically increasing both the size and cost of the federal government, the Republicans still somehow manage to cut services and make sure the taxpayers get LESS from their government.

Considering that these would be black women exercising control over their own bodies by choosing to have an abortion, not some oppressive genocidal entity making that choice for them, this argument is likely going to lead... nowhere.

In most cases, I’m not sure how much these woman actually exercise any control over their lives. Most are probably poor single mothers or very young people who have little idea what they can do with their lives. That’s really the biggest problem. Poor single mothers don’t exercise any control over their lives. The idea that these women have control over their lives because they can kill their unborn babies is morbidly disgustingly. They are forced into a welfare system and a social attitude that provides them enough to subsist and leaves them stuck in poverty. A condition that I think Democrats want to preserve because as long as this subsistence continues to be championed by the Democrats those relying on it have an incentive to vote Democrat. Kind of a catch 22 though. I was lucky. My mother wasn’t quite as dumb as most young people living in poverty. She was smart enough to realize that poverty was something the Democrats used to maintain votes. So while we did partake in the welfare system, we knew better then to rely on it or the Democrats.

60% is the national average currently, and does NOT include 100-million annual traffic ticket arrests for criminal misdemeanors, which make 99% of US citizens convicted criminals in the NCIC database (ALL TRAFFIC TICKET CONVICTIONS ARE USED TO INCREASE ARREST AND INCREASE SENTENCE FOR ALL OTHER CRIMES AND STAY ON NCIC DATABASE FOREVER).

Somebody reported that 75% of arrests are black. So to "equalize" the prison population to "more accurately represent the US population", blacks are paroled 5 times sooner than whites. For the same criminal conviction and sentence, a white will serve 5 years, but a black only 1 year.

So black career criminals are back on the street to perp more crimes. Here in Knoxville this week, a black was arrested for 1st degree murder for shooting a guy "under pretext of meeting 'the killer's' girl", while on bail for killing a guy by stabbing him 22 times "for suspected rape of his sister". This in a town that jails white folks for 10 days for using a public restroom, jails white divorcees by a life sentence without bail, and jails white book publishers with a life sentence on death row. My own dad was mugged by 4 blacks who held 2 guns to his head, but no police investigation, and no report in the news. Now 4 blacks are on trial for kidnap torture rape and murder of Shannon Christian and Chris Newsome (they made Shannon shoot Chris in the head, and one of their gang was family of KPD cops).

This also helps "justify" a police state.

Billionaire Democrat John Kerry exemplifies middle-class and working-class values as a member of Yale Skull & Bones, like British prime minister lawyers from Eaton represent "laborers". Two heads of the same party.

The test for anyone who picks on a particular party in power is whether they pick of the other party when they gain power.

US ambassador Dr Alan Keyes left the Republican Party to run for "The Real American Black President" in 2008, got arrested last week for opposing Obama for killing black babies, and sued Obama for being an illegal alien. So that's pretty legitimate in my book.

This is exactly the issue we were discussing in "Limits of State Power". The peeps who're supposed to be creating meaningful, decent-paying jobs... capitalists... are the very ones who're motivated to do the opposite. Unemployment, underemployment, lack of opportunity and no meaningful control over one's future: caused by capitalism not government. IF you want to fix the problem, you have to change the system.

Note, I said bodies, not lives.

Though I do consider that a particularly important right that has no business being swept aside for debates about WHY women may choose to have an abortion.

And I'm not sure what argument you are making when you say that single mothers don't exercise any control over their lives and are being forced into social wellfare and poverty, when women choosing to have an abortion may have exactly that in mind to guide their choice.

Plus, the initial argument spoke of a "black genocide", as if these abortions were being literally forced on anyone for the reason of being black.

I'm not saying that there is anything perfect about the current situation. I just find it laughable to "tempt" black people into voting by telling them that it might take away their right to have an abortion, when clearly women are choosing to exercise that right.

The reason why they are having an abortion is often because they didn’t exercise much control to begin with. One of the characteristics of poverty is a lack of hope in something better, that pessimism accompanied by the promise of a paycheck you don’t have to earn is a strong incentive to do nothing with your life and expect nothing from your life.

Still is in no way logically linked with voting for the party that would want to take away the RIGHT to an abortion. And likely faster than they could ever fix the economic situation for African Americans.

That item in the original post is at best very poorly phrased, and at worst entirely illogical.

Why does it bother you that I'm commenting on that and asking questions?

But thanks for admitting that it was poorly phrased.

However, the original post says "A disproportionate amount of aborted babies are black." Obviously, a significant number of African Americans ARE in favor of abortions and are voting accordingly.

So. Not a good argument, especially since you posted this list with the implication that these reasons apply to all African Americans.

But since you seem sensitive enough to criticism to pretend that I'm off topic, I'll just leave you alone.

Yup, I was on topic, too. I responded specifically to "the NUMBER ONE reason", which was listed as insanity - doing the same thing over and over in hopes of a different result. I responded precisely to that point, and even quoted and highlighted it so there would be no confusion, and used Reagan and Bush historical events to bolster and illustrate the point I was making. Still, Finn finds himself utterly incapable of keeping up...

I think this question will be decided by two factors,

The success or failure of Obamas policys. ( If things are good, why change )

And what happens to the Republicans as they try to reinvent themselves. If they try to be a center party, and Obama messes up they do have a chance to draw new support. If they swing farther to the right, perhaps not.

In any case, if the republicans choose to pursue this demographic, they will likely have to change some faces, and maybe have Limbaugh and Coulter mute themselves somewhat.

NAACP v. Republican Party - a black and white issue?
Published by Fred Soto• July 15th, 2007 RSS News Feed

Historical racism? Black and White issue?

Let’s be honest, Republicans feel as comfortable in the presence of the NAACP crowd as Democrats do at a “Fox News: Fair and Balanced” forum.

It isn’t a racial thing, as much as it is a political thing.

The problem that many people can’t get past is the tension stems from a racially historical problem. Prior to the Civil Rights movement, Martin Luther King, Jr. and his immortal “I have a dream speech”, it was Republicans whom generally saw ’separate but equal’ as fair. Of course, women’s rights were also not fully respected so the Republican party was molded by a White Anglo-Saxon Protestant (WASP) male perspective. It is not to say the party still has the same flare as the Republican party of old, but some of the guys are still in office or positions of power and influence in America.

Race and Racism in America

martin luther king jr speech podiumEven today, segregation is an acceptable in some areas of the conservative state of Georgia, even black people are used to it, they sponsor Black-only proms and it is a huge event when they try integrating and fail.

I know there is no love lost between George W. Bush and the NAACP. Lately, though, the entire Republican party has been hard on the NAACP for being critical about their disinterest in civil rights. Maybe Rush Limbaugh and/or Ann Coulter have been running at the mouth on the issue recently, or maybe Republicans feel they have no shot at picking up the black vote so efforts should be spent elsewhere. I’ve noticed Republicans seem highly agitated by the NAACP, they perceive them as a black activist organization with an agenda, but these days who doesn’t have an agenda?

I worry that the division and hatred we’ve seen in politics is spilling over to other areas of humanity. This can’t be healthy for the relationships between black and white America. We like to say things like, “racism doesn’t exist, there is no ‘racial’ animosity like before the civil war movement” but that’s really not true. There is a black America, there is a white America, there is a brown America and they all have different ideas of what “America” is. They are all fairly consistent except “White” America is split, naturally Democrats favor a “melting pot America” while Republicans favor a “no-racial distinction” for Americans, as we are all individuals.

The actions speak for themselves, all democratic Presidential candidates showed up, and only one Republican, Tom Tancredo made the trip.

Okay, in the interest of staying strictly on-topic, let's go down the list here, one by one:

Quote:

Originally posted by Skywalken:

This list is the work of a black conservative named Lloyd Marcus.

10 — The same problems Democrats have been promising to fix for 40 years are worse.

Can anyone name me ONE thing that Republicans have improved in the last 40 years? Everything they've been promising to "fix" - illegal immigration, terrorism, trade imbalance, unemployment, "the welfare state", croneyism, energy dependence, gay marriage and "the homosexual lifestyle"... How much of it is what the conservatives would call "better" today than it was 40 years ago?

Quote:

9 — In 1950, 24% of black kids grew up without dads. In 2009, 63%. Seven out of 10 are born out of wedlock. A result of Democrat-encouraged generational government dependency.

I'd love to see the cites for these figures. And I'd like to see the corresponding figures for whites and hispanics as well. And the leap of faith that is required to get to it all being the Democrats' fault is pretty funny, if it weren't so pathetic. I could as easily say that it's entirely the result of abstinence-only education and lack of anything approaching comprehensive sex-ed in schools.

Quote:

8 — The black male high school dropout rate is 40%. Of those, 72% are jobless and 60% will probably be incarcerated. Another consequence of government replacing fathers in the home.

No Child Left Behind actually ENCOURAGES higher drop-out rates in many cases. Schools which are performing poorly have been documented as encouraging the lowest of the low performers to go ahead and drop out, so that the school isn't punished for their low test scores. And the incarceration rates are a joke. The numbers have been cooked to show that black commit far more crimes than whites, when the actual facts bear out a different story. You catch a black kid with a few grams of crack, and mandatory minimums say he gets an automatic five years in the pen, while a white dude with a pound of powder cocaine can walk away with a year of probation. And we call it "justice".

Quote:

7 — Amid the chaos after Hurricane Katrina, Democrat congressman William Jefferson used the National Guard to get home to retrieve $90,000 suspected bribe money from his freezer while New Orleans residents were trying to get rescued from rooftops.

Amid the chaos after Hurricane Katrina, Republican President George W. Bush used Air Force One, the National Guard, and the United States Air Force to to glad-handing around the sourthern U.S., pulling much-needed rescue helicopters and crewmen off their duty to serve as photo-op backdrops for the nightly news. Meanwhile, residents starved, drowned, and died of exposure, while not being shot at for the sin of trying to escape over one of the bridges to a neighboring parrish.

Quote:

6 — Despite documented proof to the contrary, Democrats tell blacks the shameful lie that America is racist and their only hope is to keep electing Democrats to level the playing field.

And of course, telling a people that 70% of their children will be born out of wedlock, and that 60% of their men will be imprisoned, isn't racist AT ALL. After all, how could anyone call dooming an entire race simply because of the color of their skin "racist"?

Quote:

5 — Despite high test scores by inner city black kids in the D.C. school voucher program, Democrats plan to shut it down to appease their voters in the teachers union.

I'd rather see more money used to fund REAL education in the public-education system. Most of you say it's an utter and complete failure, but I'd lay odds that most of YOU are a product of that system. I know I never went to private school, and I might have learned a bit from my public school days - like when to use "than" or "then", for instance...

Quote:

4 — Democrats continually seek to lower standards. Thus, proving their bigotry of low expectations from blacks.

How? Cites would be nice? You mean lowering standards like which standards of proof you'd use before invading and occupying a sovereign nation? You mean lowering the standards of "victory" in that nation, or what the phrase "Mission Accomplished" actually means? You mean THOSE kinds of lowered standards?

Quote:

3 — Most blacks believe marriage should be between a man and a woman. The Democrat Party aggressively supports gay marriage and proposes stronger "hate crime" laws that include protection for pedophiles.

Most conservatives believe that marriage should be between white people and white people, and between black people and black people. Your point is...?

The "pedophile protection" bullshit line is a complete fabrication by Bill "Orally" O'Reilly, by the way. It doesn't exist. It's made up, he pulled it out of his ass. It's a lie, in other words.

Quote:

2 — The Democrat Party strongly supports abortion on demand, including the murderous partial birth. A disproportionate amount of aborted babies are black. 50% of black babies are aborted. Some call this Black Genocide.

The Democratic party (why, oh why are "Repubs" too fucking stupid to even get the party's name right?) strongly supports a woman's right to choose whether or when to have children. And secretly, the conservatives wish the number of black abortions were closer to 100%. They just don't want you to know that.

Quote:

And, the number one reason blacks should stop voting Democrat...INSANITY is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result!

Well, we've already gone over that one.

Satisfied?

6 years - 4 during the Carter administration and two during the first Clinton administration. The repubicans had an equal number of years controlling both the WH and congress during the Bush administration

9 — In 1950, 24% of black kids grew up without dads. In 2009, 63%. Seven out of 10 are born out of wedlock. A result of Democrat-encouraged generational government dependency.
Social Security included aid to dependent children in 1939. So - when did it all fall apart ? In 1976 when Ronal Reagan spread the rumor that there were welfare queens driving Cadillacs ? That was 40 years in the making. I'd say it would be hard to lay blame for a problem on a 40 year old policy - wouldn’t you ?

8 — The black male high school dropout rate is 40%. Of those, 72% are jobless and 60% will probably be incarcerated. Another consequence of government replacing fathers in the home.
The overall urban dropout rate is nearly 50%. I'd say those blacks must be doing something right, and maybe it is the absence of fathers.

7 — Amid the chaos after Hurricane Katrina, Democrat congressman William Jefferson used the National Guard to get home to retrieve $90,000 suspected bribe money from his freezer while New Orleans residents were trying to get rescued from rooftops.
And during and after Katrina - in fact, through the entire Bush administration - repubicans have withheld rescue, shelter and recovery money from blacks by the billions - a fact not lost on blacks, who are quite a bit smarter than the author gives them credit for.

6 — Despite documented proof to the contrary, Democrats tell blacks the shameful lie that America is racist and their only hope is to keep electing Democrats to level the playing field.
America IS racist - a black has to be better than a white to get the goodies.

5 — Despite high test scores by inner city black kids in the D.C. school voucher program, Democrats plan to shut it down to appease their voters in the teachers union.
And then, there are the FACTS:
Last year, a Congressionally mandated review of the program by Department of Education researchers concluded that there were no significant differences between the test scores of students who received a voucher and those who applied but, not receiving one, attended public schools instead.
Parents of students taking part said they believed that the private schools their children attended were safer than public schools, the study found. But the voucher students themselves rated their school experiences no more highly than did children attending neighborhood schools, the study found.

4 — Democrats continually seek to lower standards. Thus, proving their bigotry of low expectations from blacks.
Who, what, when, where, how and why ? By only addressing 2 of 6 vital questions, the author indeed shows his own version of low standards. For himself.

3 — Most blacks believe marriage should be between a man and a woman. The Democrat Party aggressively supports gay marriage and proposes stronger "hate crime" laws that include protection for pedophiles.
Apparently the only way the author can make a case is to lie - there is NO protection for pedophiles.

2 — The Democrat Party strongly supports abortion on demand, including the murderous partial birth. A disproportionate amount of aborted babies are black. 50% of black babies are aborted. Some call this Black Genocide.
I guess whitey is forcing all those women to have abortions, and even paying for them. What's that you say ? No ... and no ... ... ? NEVERmind.

And, the number one reason blacks should stop voting Democrat...INSANITY is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result!

And here we have the ultimate in facts and logic ! An opinion !

The Democratic party (why, oh why are "Repubs" too fucking stupid to even get the party's name right?) strongly supports a woman's right to choose whether or when to have children. And secretly, the conservatives wish the number of black abortions were closer to 100%. They just don't want you to know that.

I agree Frem. No one is responsible for whatever shade their skin may be, be it pale, or dark. You can't judge people by skin color. Idiotic is putting it mildly.

I'm conservative to the core, but racism isn't my game. There are too many real problems in the world, and right here at home, to be worried about what color skin the man or woman next to me has.

So what is it, exactly, that you think Republicans have done for black people? Offer platitudes like "pull yourself up by your bootstraps!" - despite the people not having any boots OR bootstraps to pull themselves up by? What would conservatives do to reach out to black voters? Outlaw abortion for everyone, for every reason? Do away with any programs that even ATTEMPT to teach responsible sexual education, AND do away with anything like condoms-in-schools programs? Shut down all forms of welfare and medicaid, "for their own good", to make them stand on their own? Bust up the unions, which are the ONLY way many black people can get A job, ANY job, much less a decent-paying one? Kill off public education for good, since it's not doing a good enough job, and have education be solely the birthright of the rich?

What is it that you'd have the Republicans do in order to woo the black vote? How are you planning on turning the majority of black people from serfs to lords? I'm smellin' a lot of "they're taking advantage of you" comin' off all the right-wing arguments, but so far not one single iota of an idea on where anyone - you, us, them, me, we - can improve things for black people, or more accurately, help them to improve things for themselves.

Any ideas?

Makes me think of a story my dad told me, long time ago. He and another kid, both about 7 or 8, who just happened to be black, were fishing from a bridge on a back road when some 'adult' drove by and made a snide comment about the two of them being friends. My dad had no idea what the man was talking about, and went home crying.

That was the first time he had realized that he and his friend weren't 'the same' in the eyes of some.

To me, that asshole who made that comment needed a 2x4 took to him, as he was only interesting in spreading hate to two young boys who didn't hate anyone, including him.

As to the 'list', I don't know who that man is, and have to take the posters word that the writer is, himself, a black man. I know from some of the posts on this thread that at least some of the posters are familiar with him, but I am not.

Anyway, my point was, not all conservatives want to see any babies, black or otherwise, aborted.

Couple of things.

If capitalists were forced to be the only entities to address the problems of "Unemployment, underemployment, lack of opportunity and no meaningful control over one's future" they wouldn't be able to earn enough money to stay in business and no one would be employed at all. Doesn't sound like a solution to me.

Relating this to choice, which was the issue of the post you're responding to, you could compare with China, where you can be fined or jailed for not aborting unwanted (by the government) fetuses. Talk about not having "meaningful control over one's future."

Yes, and MY point was, not all Democrats support all (or even MOST) of the things that the writer of that list purports.

And it was my way of pointing out that blanket statements like that often are found offensive by those on the receiving end of them. If you were offended by my comments, my apologies - but you DID prove my point rather effectively; point being, that "list" is nothing but a load of tripe, a laundry list of offensive blanket statements with nothing substantive to back it up.

If I bring up a statistic that says that 60% of black men will be in prison at some point, as opposed to, say, only 20% of white men... Does that automatically mean that black men commit criminal acts three times as often as whites? Or is it at least equally likely that black men are prosecuted more often, given probation less often, and imprisoned more often? Any half-decent statistician can "cook the numbers" to make it look like the numbers support any agenda they WANT them to support. And unless and until you have numbers that aren't bogus, everything else is as effective as pissing into the wind.

Silence is consent.

Which is why I specifically brought up LBJ and The War on Poverty.

The following statistics are provided by Star Parker's Coalition of Urban Renewal, (CURE).

*60 percent of black children grow up in fatherless homes.

*800,000 black men are in jail or prison.

*70 percent of black babies are born to unwed mothers.

*Over 300,000 black babies are aborted annually.

*50 percent of new AIDS cases are in the black community.

*Almost half of young black men in America's cities are neither working nor in school. What we have here is a ticking time bomb waiting to explode.

What was the message of the social programs that came out of LBJ's Great Society? One of the most devestating to the family was that if an unwed woman became pregnant, moved out of the home of her parents, did not name or know who the father was, then Big Daddy in Washington would provide for all her essential needs. Ergo she no longer needed a husband or the support of her family. In fact, the more children she had out of wedlock, the more money she would receive from the government. This program was the death knell for many families, especially in the black community. Unfortunately many black men saw this as the best of all possible worlds. They could father as many children as they wanted, from multiple women, without ever having to accept the responsibility of fatherhood. Many women rejected marriage in favor of a boyfriend who could slip in the back door and not jeopardize her government check. In this dysfunctional culture why would education be important? Why seek an education only to have to compete for a good job in the market place when they could just hang around the neighborhood and have all of life's amenities? In fact studying and getting good grades, for many blacks, became a social stigma. They were called "Uncle Toms" and accused of trying to act "white". Many blacks who had the potential to succeed gave in to this pressure and opted for failure. After all they had the perfect excuse. Did not the NAACP and race hustlers like Jesse Jackson tell them that it was not their fault? That they were just innocent "victims" of white racism?

I trust I won't have to repeat myself again.

LBJ's actions expanded on existing programs, created new Gov't bureaucracies, all with good intentions, but all failures in what they were attempting to do. That goal? To wipe out poverty in the United States. Poverty was already on the down slide by the time LBJ took office. The effect of massive Gov't intervention into the nation's educational, economic and social situation has been suspect, at best.

It's funny, really - for all the conservatives' talk of the infamous "Welfare Queen" - that mythical black woman who has umpteen babies out of wedlock, drives a brand new Cadillac (and it's ALWAYS a Caddy, isn't it?), lives in a big new home, has never worked, and is milking the gubmint for welfare benefits and living high on the hog in the meantime... they've never ONCE produced a single case or example of this actually happening.

Just more of the same old typical right-wing lies perpetrated by the same old typical right-wing liars.
