Freedom is Important because People are Important

Hello,

This theory of events has never bothered me in the slightest. Knowing that an airborne missile carrying high explosives has been taken by terrorists, I would hesitate not at all in ordering its destruction.

I'm not sure why such an action should need to be covered up, as killing a plane full of innocent civilians would seem to me the correct and even brave thing to do in this scenario.

(That will probably find itself attached to someone's signature line: AnthonyT says, "killing a plane full of innocent civilians would seem to me the correct and even brave thing to do.")

In fact, a swift decisive action like this would be one of the highlights of the Bush presidency. So seldom did I see the man move rapidly and be correct at the same time.

I think it's prolly a pilot made a judgement call without orders, or even against them, is all it is.

Can't penalize him for it without admittin that, can't venerate him for the same reason.

So they cooked up a feelgood story that doesn't hold water - although the cell phone thing is enough to keep conspiracy types occupied for years, since if true it reeks something other than the two scenarios above.
